Sources reporting overnight the Rockford Fire Department responded to a vehicle on fire in the area of Central and Preston.

The vehicle was reported stolen.

While they were battling the fire,  shots were fired nearby.

Unknown on suspect information, due to the encryption.

Just after 10 pm tonight several units from the Rockford Fire Department were on scene of a structure fire on Haskell in Rockford . (900 block)

There is a confirmed fire.  Sounds like a multifamily structure.

Reports of at least one person trapped on the 3rd floor.

UPDATE: Sounds like the situation is under control now. Red Cross is assisting

  • Subway at 3021 Rockton ave: Source said a possible robbery
  • Walgreens at 2525 S Alpine: Sources said a possible robbery
  • 911 Whitman st: House fire (Stove on fire)

As you know RPD are encrypted, so we can’t confirm anything right now.  No suspect information, due to the encryption.


UPDATE:

On 11-12-18 at 8:09 hours Officers responded to Walgreens, 2525 S. Alpine Rd., in reference to an armed robbery to the business. The suspect entered the store and approached the cashier. He displayed a knife and demanded money. The suspect then took an undetermined amount of money and fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, 175 pounds, wearing a black coat and darker pants with a black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers.

Sources are reporting a police chase/accident in Rockford.

Sources said several suspects in a stolen vehicle fled from police. Police chased the vehicle. The suspects ended up crashing into a tree near Wilcox. The suspects then got out and fled on foot. Several suspects were reported to be loose in the area, police are searching for the suspects.

There is reports of a structure fire near this location

On 11/11/18 at 9:37 pm Rockford Police Officers responded to the 2100 and 2200 block of Lawndale Ave for a report of gunshots fired and a house struck by gunfire.

Officers located two residences, which were occupied, to be struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Around 10:20 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to a possible Over Dose call in the area of Riverside and Forest Hills.

CPR is in progress at the time of writing this.

The victim is in the median of the intersection and CPR was being performed.

It is not a confirmed Over Dose yet, but officials do believe it is.

Just before 8 am this morning, emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries.

Initial reports are saying a pedestrian was hit by a semi tractor trailer in Machesney Park.

It happened in the back parking lot of a business in the 9800 block of N Alpine.

Injuries were being reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
