Sources are reporting an Ogle County Board Chairman has been found dead in his home.

Reports are saying 66-year-old Kim Gouker,   was found dead in his home.

No other information at this time. 



Rockford Scanner™: Sources Reporting Another Skydiving Accident.

A skydiver suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon after he landed on Illinois 251 South near West Gurler Road at around 4pm.

The male subject was jumping out of Chicagoland Skydiving Center located at the Rochelle Municipal Airport.

Reports indicate that the skydiver hit some electrical power lines prior to landing on the highway face down. He was wearing a helmet.

Rochelle Fire Chief Dave Sawlsville said that the injured skydiver was in his late 20’s to early 30’s. It does not appear he was a local resident.

An emergency helicopter arrived on the scene to transported the man to a Rockford hospital with the head injury. He was conscious at times following the accident.

He also suffered injuries to his chest, pelvis, and left arm.

Illinois 251 South was closed for a period of time when emergency personnel were on the scene.

(WLS) — A skydiver was injured in Ogle County on Monday, authorities said.

The 30-year-old man, who the Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Rochelle, Illinois, described as an “experienced, licensed jumper,” came into contact with a utility line and landed on Route 251 South. The skydiving center said the jumper was injured but alert.

The man was transported by life flight to a hospital in Rockford out of an abundance of caution, authorities said. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

Nicole Riley said:  

I have a source that works there and they said the skydiver was ok. 251 in the area was closed for a short time but is open now and skydiving continued. In fact I just watched a couple land.”

Sources are reporting another skydiving accident in Rochelle.

This one happened near 251, near Rochelle around 4 pm today.

Rockford Scanner™: Fully Engulfed Barn


Sources are reporting a structure fire. 

It happened earlier today in the 7400 block of Moulton Rd in Ogle County.

Reports of a fully engulfed barn fire.

Unknown if any animals or people were injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.



Rockford Scanner™: Several Mailboxes Damaged in Ogle County


On Sunday morning the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office took numerous reports of mailboxes being damaged, stolen and thrown through the window of a parked car on Flagg Road, Brooklyn Road and Gurler Road.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this damage. 



Rockford Scanner™: Three People Injured After A Stabbing At Grubsteakers


On 06/18/19 at 2043 hours Ogle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at Grubsteakers, Rt. 251 and Rt 64.

Responding deputy located a male who bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the leg and immediately provided medical attention to him.

A second male, identified as William Shively age 36 of Ocala, FL, was also on scene and had minor injuries was taken into custody.

A female on scene had minor injuries from an altercation with Shively.

All three subjects were transported to Rochelle Community Hospital and treated for their injuries.

After further investigation, Shively was charged with aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and battery. Shively was transported to Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

Rockford Scanner™: Several Arrested/Ticketed For Traffic in Ogle County

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

On 05-23-2019 at 10:20 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at IL 251 and Mowers Rd, on a blue Ford Explorer.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Steve B. Harris, age 51 of Rochelle, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Driving.  Harris also received citations for Speeding, No Insurance, No Seat Belt, Failure to Notify SOS of Address Change, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, No Headlights When Required, and  Improper Lane Usage.  Harris was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

No Valid Drivers License

On 05-25-19 at approximately 0043 hours Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of East Illinois Rt 64. After further investigation Arturo Quiroz-Salinas, age 67 of Mount Morris was placed under arrest for No Valid Drivers License. Quiroz-Salinas was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.


On 05/25/19 at 0030 hours Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Subaru for failure to signal  at the intersection of 8th Ave and 1st street in Rochelle.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Chad Wilcox 37 of Franklin Grove for DUI and violation of the Illinois concealed carry law.  Wilcox also received citations for illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to signal.  Wilcox was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On 05-24-19, while patrolling the 8000 block of N Freeport road, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Grand Caravan.  After conducting an investigation, Nicholas Davis, age 35 of Freeport, was placed into custody for Driving While License Suspended. Davis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was issued an additional citation for improper lane usage and held in lieu of bond.

Rockford Scanner™: After A Fight, Pedestrian Hit By A Vehicle, Then Suspect Flees

On 05/19/19 at approximately 9:19 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Grand Detour area of rural Dixon for the report of an accident with injuries. Upon arrival, it was learned that a gray Chevy Impala had fled the scene after striking a parked car and a female pedestrian.

The female pedestrian, Brittany Vyas, 24, of Rock Falls, received minor injuries and was transported to KSB Hospital by Dixon Rural Ambulance.

Deputies later located the driver of the Chevy, Kaitlyn Dexter, 23, of Dixon. Dexter was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident (Class 4 Felony), Aggravated Battery (Class 3 Felony), and Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor).

Upon release from KSB Hospital, Vyas was charged with Battery to Dexter for an incident that occurred prior to the accident. On 05-20-19 at approximately 9:00 a.m. Derrick Stone, 28, of Grand Detour was located and arrested for Domestic Battery.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Dixon Police Department and the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office assisted Deputies. Investigation is still ongoing.

Possibly in Ogle County or the Loves Park area.
A White female was last seen driving it.
