Rockford Scanner™: 3 Different Accidents, 1 Fatal, Another Involved A Motorcycle, Etc…




A couple of accidents this afternoon.  One of them is a fatal.

#  A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Central and Kilburn.  Police confirmed the pedestrian has passed away.  The vehicle that hit the pedestrian stayed on the scene.  The road is blocked off, and will be for several hours while police do the investigation and reconstruction of the scene. So please avoid the area for awhile.

# E state st between Alpine and Fairview there was a motorcycle accident. Reports of a vehicle pulling out of Popeyes, when the motorcycle crashed into it. The vehicle stayed on scene, but the driver did not exit the vehicle. Injuries were being reported.  Officials said the injuries appeared to be non life threatening.

# Two vehicles collided near West and Island in Rockford.  Injuries were being reported.  Reports of non life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accidents are all under investigation.

Rockford Scanner™: Sources Reporting A Scene in Rockford



 

Sources are reporting a scene with multiple emergency personnel on scene. 

Sources said: It happened around 10 pm near the area of: “Ridge Ave is blocked off south of Glenwood. Bunch of Police and ambulances”

It is unclear at the time of writing this, exactly what happened.

Rockford Scanner™: Possible Officer Involved Shooting In Rockford



UPDATE: (Wait a second for the video to load below)

A suspect fired a gun at 2 Rockford Police officers.

The suspect is reported to be in custody.

Sources are reporting a scene on the West side. 

Sources said a person was shot near Washington School in Rockford.

That is near West st.   1421 West st.

Unconfirmed reports are saying this is an officer involved shooting incident.

Many officers from numerous jurisdictions are on scene.
Sources said there are approx. 30 different squad cars and officers working this scene.

RPD has yet to confirm this or release any information.

Rockford Scanner™: Accident With Injuries Near Machesney Park



Keith Rains Sr. and sources said there is an auto accident in Machesney park.

It happened near the Verizon store on 173 & Continental Rd .

Injuries were reported. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Initial reports are saying a truck turned in front of SUV, when the collision happened. Police are investigating the accident.

Rockford Scanner™: Accident With Injuries Near Perryville



Sources are reporting an accident with injuries in Loves Park/Machesney Park this afternoon.   It happened near Perryville and 173.

HRFD: ”  Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters responded to a 3-vehicle accident on Perryville Rd. and Hwy 173. One driver was transported to the hospital by Harlem-Roscoe Ambulance.”

Rockford Scanner™: Another Armed Robbery In Rockford, Police Investigating



Sources are reporting another armed robbery in Rockford. 

This one happened near 1410 West st

We have been told the victim was injured, but police have yet to confirm this

Suspects are a couple of black males, approx 5’10, thin build , wearing dark clothing, masks and armed with a gun.

Last seen running from the scene eastbound in the nearby alley

Rockford Scanner™: Carjacking in Rockford, Suspects Flee From Police in Machesney Park



 

Sources are reporting a delivery driver was carjacked in Rockford. It happened last night in the area of Latham and Barton.

Suspect carjacked the victim. The victims vehicle is a 2008 Subaru Forester that is tan/gold in color. Might have a delivery sign on top.

Suspect that stole the vehicle was a black female.

Around 3 am officers in Machesney Park spotted the vehicle on Orlando.  The suspect fled from officers.  The person in the vehicle was a black male, wearing dark clothing and tan pants. The police stopped the chase near 173 and Alpine. Suspect was traveling southbound on Alpine at a high rate of speed.

Rockford Scanner™: Dirt Bikes & 4 Wheelers Driving Recklessly And Taunting The Rockford Police




If you have driven down the streets of Rockford last year and today as well. You probably have saw several dirt bikes and 4 wheelers driving recklessly in the roadways.

Last year they taunted the police on several occasions including yelling at the police and calling them names and giving them the middle finger.

Sources said they were back at it again today around 1:30 pm near Washington School on the West side.

Source sent us a video and said the Rockford police officers were on scene and people on dirt bikes and 4 wheelers taunting the police once again. They said they were driving in the opposite lanes of traffic and also obstructing traffic.

This has become almost a daily occurrence in the Rockford area these days.  We have not heard of any arrests. Police show up, chase the suspects for a few then terminate the chase. And the suspects go about to do it another day.

We have been told by sources they have caused several accidents in the past.  Police have yet to confirm this.

One source said they do it, because they know they can get away with it and police will not arrest them. So they think of it as a game of taunting the police.

UPDATE: A woman was stabbed near W Elk in Freeport. A man has been taken into custody according to officials.  The victim is listed in serious condition

Stabbing and Auto Accident Near Freeport

Sources are reporting it happened in the area of 26 and Lincoln near Freeport.

Details are minimal right now.

We been told there is a stabbing victim and also an auto accident.

Several emergency personnel are en route.

Police have the area blocked off and diverting traffic.

UPDATE: Two shooting victims arrived at a local ER via self transport.

From RPD: On Saturday, January 12th, at around 3:40 AM, two Rockford residents were the victims of Aggravated Battery with a handgun while at a party in the 1500 block of West St. The victims had friends transport them to a local hospital for treatment of what turned out to be non-life-threatening injuries. This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department or Crime Stoppers – 815 963 STOP (7867).

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.

A victim has been shot in the 1500 block of West st in Rockford.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

We been told the victim was shot at least once.
