Sources are reporting a home invasion in Machesney Park.
It happened just after midnight last night in the 8500 block of Colchester Drive.
Sources are reporting numerous emergency personnel were on scene. Unconfirmed reports of injuries. Suspects fled in a pickup truck that possibly hit a deer while fleeing and has front end damage. No other information at this time.
Winnebago County police rarely ever release any information since encrypting. So do not expect any updates on this. Sorry.
Around 12:30 pm today emergency personnel were responding to a gas odor investigation in Machesney Park.
It happened at an address near Emerald ln in Machesney Park. Reports are saying there was an explosion from a failed tank. There is no fire. But there was a gas odor.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene quickly and was able to have the scene under control very quickly.
Sources are reporting a possible dead body in Machesney park.
Reports are saying a victim is laying in the ditch on N Second st, North of 173.
The victim is laying in the ditch and is not moving. The sources are reporting it appears the victim is dead. No other information at this time.
Update: Source said it was a woman who fell down. Police have not confirmed the call or any information.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at approximately 0630 hours, the Rockton Police Department observed a female in need of assistance in downtown Rockton. The female reported that she had been taken by force from a retail establishment in Rockford by her ex-boyfriend on Tuesday evening. She reported that she was taken to the Sugar River Forest Preserve in rural Winnebago County where she was beaten, strangled and sexually assaulted. The female victim was able to escape from the suspect at a local gas station in Rockton.
Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted Rockton Police and Roscoe Police in taking the suspect into custody after a short pursuit along IL Route 2 and IL Route 75. The suspect fought with Deputies and Officers who were able to safely take him into custody.
Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives took over the investigation and after speaking with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, charges were authorized and the suspect was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The follow person was charged:
~Charles E. Swift Dob: 11/22/69 of Rockford
-Aggravated Domestic Battery (3 Counts)
Rockton Police charged Swift with the following charges:
-Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
-Driving After Revocation
Winnebago County Sheriff’s Detectives will continue the investigation and further charges are pending.
The charges against Swift are merely accusations and he is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sources are reporting a battery/kidnapping in Rockton this morning.
We sat on this story to see if police would release information on it.
Police have yet to release any information on it, so we are posting it.
It happened just before 7 am in Rockton, near Blackhawk and Main.
Sources said a suspect brutally beat and kidnapped a victim in Rockton. Unknown on the victims status at the time of writing this.
Suspect was last seen near the library in Rockton. Police located the suspect and the suspect fled from police. Police chased the suspect.
Sources said the police were chasing the suspect on Rt 2 southbound, around 90 MPH. But were able to capture him on RT 2 near Blackhawk. (See photos) The police broke out the windows of the vehicle and detained the suspect in the middle of RT 2.

Local police said they were going to be transparent, when encrypting. We feel the police should have at least released some kind of information on this very DANGEROUS incident. But they have yet to do so…

Update: Police have confirmed the kidnapping call but have downplayed it and said it was a “Simple Kidnapping” and that one person was in custody. No other information was released.

are reporting a bad accident near Machesney Park.
It happened around 1 am on N Second st, North of 173.
“A camaro collided with a van that was sent about 45 feet away crashing it into the fence, the camaro was completely totaled on the road”
Injuries were being reported. It was not yet known on the severity of the injuries at the time of writing this.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Update from HRFD
Victim is 70 year old Sharon Stoner of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Police arrested her son 46 year old Kent Stoner for 1st degree murder. Emergency personnel found this victim approx. 10 am, she had “Traumatic Injuries”. Police investigated and determined the suspect was her son and arrested him with 1st degree murder
A woman was found dead, the police are investigating this as a homicide.
Sources are reporting a scene behind the Machesney park Mall.
Reports of several emergency personnel on scene at the condos behind the Machesney Park Mall. Police crime scene tape is up.
It is not yet known what happened. A few said it was a possible shooting. But we can not yet confirm this. Avoid the area for awhile so emergency personnel can investigate the scene.

Several sources are reporting a structure fire in Machesney Park earlier today.
It happened in the 600 block of Maple ave. Reports of everyone was able to escape from the residence. At the time of writing this, it was unknown how bad the fire was. No other information at this time.
Sources are reporting a rollover accident with injuries in Machesney Park.
It happened around 6:30 am this morning in the Dunkin Doughnuts parking lot on N Second st in Machesney Park.
A White vehicle hit a pole and rolled over into the parking lot.
Extrication was originally dispatched, but was not needed.
Injuries were reported. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.

RS Source Samantha Burns sent us the following in regards to her cat missing in the Machesney Park area.
“Please help me find her she got out this morning and hasn’t came back she is only 6 pounds all black with yellow eyes and has a scar on her belly from just being fixed last seen on Minns drive in Machesney park she is very small please help me bring her home please .”
