900 block of Minns Dr in Machesney Park, several emergency personnel were dispatched for a possible pantry fire. Smoke was being reported in the pantry area. Harlem Roscoe and North Park fire departments were dispatched.
Around 9:15 pm tonight several emergency personnel were responding for a possible technical rescue call.
It happened at Midwest Packaging at 9718 Forest Hills Rd in Machesney Park .

HRFD Firefighters were called to a single vehicle accident at 1:15 am this morning on the 10000 block of Queen Oaks Drive in Machesney Park. 2 patients were extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital. Photos by HRFD Photographer Carol Donovan
RS fan Crystal sent us the following video and information.
Her husband and her rescued some baby ducks from the drainage ditch near the Target on 173 yesterday. After rescuing the baby ducks, the Winnebago County Sheriff office arrived on scene and transported the baby ducks to their mother.
She sent us the following: “My husband and I crawled down in the sewer at the Target on 173 in Machesney Park and rescued baby ducks! We saw a duck frantically running around and we got out and heard the little chirps down in the sewer! My girls were so proud of us! Some of the shoppers thought we were committing a crime and next thing we knew the Winnebago Sheriffs were watching us as we climbed out of the sewer. We explained and showed them the ducks we put in a box that we rescued. The Sheriffs helped us locate the Mama duck and reunite the little adorable duck family!”
Around midnight the North Park Fire Department were dispatched for an attic fire.
It happened in the 800 block of Kingsley in Machesney Park.
The residents were able to safely escape and no injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to may have started in the attic area.
The resident believes it was an electrical issue, because they could hear the buzzing sound of the electricity. They pulled the circuit breakers and still heard the noise. There was smoke inside the house, then they evacuated.
When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they confirmed smoke was showing and a MABAS (Mutual Aid) was toned out for other area fire departments to assist.
The Red Cross was called in to help the victims.
Around 4:30 am this morning emergency personnel were battling a fire in Machesney Park.
Emergency personnel were dispatched for a fire in the 400 block of Greenview in Machesney Park.
A vehicle was fully engulfed and was close to a residence.
North Park Fire Department arrived on scene shortly after being dispatched and was able to quickly get the situation under control.
It is not yet known if the fire spread to the residence or not.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Around 7 am this morning emergency personnel were dispatched for a person threatening to jump off a roof near Machesney Park/Roscoe.
It happened in the area of the 7700 block of Burden rd
Scanner traffic is saying there are numerous police officers are on scene and there is a subject on the roof that is threatening to jump. They need a ladder truck to assist. It sounded like they said a fire, but we can not confirm that. Still developing.
This afternoon several emergency personnel were dispatched for a fire at the Vapor Shop on Harlem rd.
It happened around 2 pm this afternoon
An e-cigarette lithium battery exploded and injured the woman.
She received significant injuries to her head.
The explosion caused a fire in the business, but the owner was able to extinguish the fire.
The cause is believed to be the e-cig lithium battery, but is under investigation.
Around 9:50 pm tonight several police officers were dispatched for a large fight in Machesney Park.
It happened in the area of 7814 Mildred in Machesney park.
Sources are reporting a very large fight near this location.
Approx. 20 subjects are physically fighting.
Several officers are en route to the scene.
Update: Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz says Dale Watkins, 58-year-old of Machesney Park, died from blunt trauma to his chest

Update: The motorcyclist has passed away. He is reported to be around 58-years-old. The name of the victim has not yet been officially released. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Preliminary reports are saying the car pulled out onto the roadway, and the motorcyclist was unable to avoid colliding with the vehicle. Police are investigating the accident. Winnebago County Coroner will be releasing more information later on.

HRFD: Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters and EMS responded to a car vs motorcycle accident around 11 am today (May 10) in the 9900 block of N. Alpine Rd. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital by Harlem-Roscoe Fire Ambulance
Several sources have told us there is a scene in Machesney Park.
It happened near Marquette School.
Numerous police officers and a police K-9 unit are on scene.
Sources say that it appears they are searching for a suspect in the area.

This past Saturday 5/5/18, Loves Park Police Officers Johnson, Kindred, Pyfer, and Roberts, alongside multiple other state line area police departments, had the opportunity of helping a select few athletes light the torch to kick off this years Special Olympics Spring Games.
There were around 540 athletes who came to participate at Harlem High School for the 50th annual Special Olympics Spring Games!
