Sources are reporting a battery/kidnapping in Rockton this morning.

We sat on this story to see if police would release information on it.

Police have yet to release any information on it, so we are posting it.

It happened just before 7 am in Rockton, near Blackhawk and Main.

Sources said a suspect brutally beat and kidnapped a victim in Rockton.  Unknown on the victims status at the time of writing this.

Suspect was last seen near the library in Rockton.  Police located the suspect and the suspect fled from police. Police chased the suspect.

Sources said the police were chasing the suspect on Rt 2 southbound, around 90 MPH. But were able to capture him on RT 2 near Blackhawk.  (See photos) The police broke out the windows of the vehicle and detained the suspect in the middle of RT 2.

This brings up the next topic:
Local police said they were going to be transparent, when encrypting. We feel the police should have at least released some kind of information on this very DANGEROUS incident. But they have yet to do so…

How transparent do you think the local police have become since encrypting?

Update: Police have confirmed the kidnapping call but have downplayed it and said it was a “Simple Kidnapping”  and that one person was in custody.  No other information was released.
