Sources are reporting a couple of bad accidents in the area today.

The first one happened by CherryVale Mall. It appears a mail truck was possibly involved in the accident. But not yet confirmed. Injuries were reported. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Another accident happened on I 90 near mile marker 21 1/2 which is near Irene Road. A car and a semi have collided near this area. Injuries were reported. Heavy damage to the car is being reported. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Another accident is being reported near Latham and N Main

UPDATE: Officials confirm 78-year-old Lavon H. Eytalis of Byron, was taken to Mercyhealth where she passed away.

In reference to the Route 2 accident scene. 


Several sources reporting two more bad accidents in the area. 

  • Bad accident on Route 2 near Kennedy Hill 
  • Multiple vehicle accident On Bypass 20 near Irene

Both accident scenes reporting injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: multiple vehicles involved in an accident, one of the vehicles is on fire. Police have the roadway blocked off



 

 

 Just before 5 AM several sources were reporting a serious accident in Boone County. It happened in the area of business 20 and Irene.

Reports of multiple vehicles are involved in the accident. At least one of the vehicles has caught on fire.

Injuries were being reported, it is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

Emergency personnel do have the roadway blocked off. You want to avoid this area for the next several hours.
