MURDER: Rockford Police responded to a shooting this morning in the 100 block of Adams. The shooting incident proceeded to the area of State and Summit. A 20 year old male is dead. Police are searching for the suspect. They know who it is, but have yet to release the suspect information. Police had the area blocked off for several hours while investigating, but is now back open.
We have been told the suspect is in a silver jeep with a bike rack, going west on Revelle.
Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces charges against a Rockford man in reference to a murder that happened in April.
On April 7th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were called to a home in the 600 Block of Alliance Avenue for a death investigation. Officers found the body of a deceased male inside the home.
The victim was later identified as Samuel Randolph, 64 of Rockford. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy and determined that Randolph died as a result of blunt force trauma to the body. Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was recently reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, First Degree Murder charges have been authorized against Douglas Williams (D.O.B. 1/13/1963). Williams is currently in custody at the Winnebago County Jail on unrelated charges. A $2 million warrant has been issued on the murder charges.
First Degree Murder is a Class M Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 20-60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a possible extended term sentence of Natural Life followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Update: RPD call log shows this as as a weapons violation.
UPDATE from the Winnebago County Coroner: The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Trequan Stamper-Ashfor
Sources are reporting a serious shooting scene in Rockford.
Reports of at least two shooting victims.
The victim was shot in the head and chest.
It happened near 311 Albert ave in Rockford.
No suspect information at this time.
UPDATE: Confirmed fatal. At least one of the victims has died. Reports are saying this is possibly a double fatal. We can only confirm the 1 fatal right now, but reports are saying this is possibly a double fatal. RPD has yet to release information.
Victim is 70 year old Sharon Stoner of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Police arrested her son 46 year old Kent Stoner for 1st degree murder. Emergency personnel found this victim approx. 10 am, she had “Traumatic Injuries”. Police investigated and determined the suspect was her son and arrested him with 1st degree murder
A woman was found dead, the police are investigating this as a homicide.
Sources are reporting a scene behind the Machesney park Mall.
Reports of several emergency personnel on scene at the condos behind the Machesney Park Mall. Police crime scene tape is up.
It is not yet known what happened. A few said it was a possible shooting. But we can not yet confirm this. Avoid the area for awhile so emergency personnel can investigate the scene.
On 5/4/19 at 2118 hours Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a two vehicle head on collision on Hwy 14 North of E Cty Tk MM. On Hwy 14 a southbound Ford Mustang was attempting to pass an uninvolved vehicle. While the Mustang was traveling southbound in the northbound lane, it collided head on with a Buick Encore.
As a result of the collision a 33 year old male of Janesville was pronounced dead on scene. The male was an occupant of the Mustang. The driver of the Encore suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital but eventually released.
The driver of the Mustang, Thomas Bluhm of Janesville, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for:
-Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle
-OWI 2nd Causing Injury
As a result of the crash Hwy 14 was shut down for approximately five hours while the Rock County Recon Team could complete their investigation.
Bluhm was booked into the Rock County Jail for court on 5/6/19.

Update from the RPD:
Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.
It happened just before 2 am in the 600 block of Score st. Score st is located in the Orton Keyes housing projects off of Kishwaukee.
The victim is a male in his 20’s. We been told the injuries are believed to be life threatening, but RPD has yet to confirm this.
The victim was shot at least 6 times. 3 times in the arm, once in the right rib area, once in the hip, once in the stomach.
No suspect information at the time of writing this.
RPD: On 4-29-19 at around 1:50 A.M., Rockford Police responded to the 600 block of Score St in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival, Officers located one male victim in a vehicle who had been struck multiple times by gunfire. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Rockford Fire with life-threatening injuries. This is an on-going police investigation.
