Suspect Ram Officer With Vehicle After Commiting Retail Theft At The Mall


UPDATE: CRIME STOPPERS: Police believe two suspects are responsible for an October 10th theft at Sears inside the Cherryvale Mall. Police say the suspects fled in a green,4-door 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix with a sunroof and Illinois license plates P506151.

This afternoon officers were dispatched to the Cherryvale mall for a retail theft at Sears. the suspects rammed their vehicle into an officer (unknown on injuries) They have an aggravated battery to a police officer charge on them because of this. The suspects are two black males around 21 years old. They fled in a 1998 green grand am. They were last seen northbound on Perryville.

There are 4 squads, a patty wagon and an undercover. The side door of sears is police tapped off.

BREAKING UPDATE: RS Fans been reporting a large police presence at Barnam and Fitch rd. Short time afterwards the fans said HE IS NOW IN POLICE CUSTODY thanks to the Rockford violent crimes unit and SWAT team. There is still a large police presence on scene but he has been transported to the jail, from the scene.  




Shooting Suspect Fires Off Multiple Rounds At Victim, Commits Hit & Run and Still On The Run


This afternoon around 3:20 pm, several emergency personnel were dispatched to the Cherryvale Mall in reference to a shooting. Details are still minimal right now but at least one person has been shot and has been transported to a local hospital. Unconfirmed reports are saying more victims, but not yet confirmed. The mall is on lockdown. Avoid the area. Still developing

UPDATE: The shooting happened in the parking lot near JCPenny. One person transported to a hospital. The mall was on temp. lockdown and has been lifted.

Rockford police are encrypted, so there is no way to confirm this
