It happened in the area of the 900 block of W. Jackson St.

Sounds like it was quickly under control

Unknown on injuries

The cause of the fire is under investigation

Rockford Scanner™: Two separate accident scenes in Boone County, Vehicle crashes into a house At one of the scenes

Just after 7 PM several emergency personnel were responding to two different accident scenes in Boone County

 

The first accident scene was in the 2900 block of Route 173. There are two vehicles that are involved in an accident near this location and one of the vehicles has hit a nearby residence. Unknown on the injuries at this time.

The second accident scene was near the Walmart in Boone County. Three vehicles are involved in this accident scene. Unknown nine injuries at this time.

Both the accident scenes are under investigation

 

 

 







Rockford Scanner™: Serious Rollover Accident, Vehicle On Fire And A Person Trapped Inside

Around 6:40 PM several emergency personnel were responding to a serious rollover accident in Boone County.

There is a rollover accident near the Belvidere North High School, Near Beloit Rd.

A vehicle has rolled over and at least one person is trapped inside the vehicle and the vehicle is reported to be on fire.

Several emergency personnel are in route to the scene.

This is still developing

Update:  Initial reports are saying the driver of the vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle when it lost control and crashed.  Emergency personnel were performing life saving measures on the victim.

Update 2 pm 9/17/2018: We have received several reports that the victim has passed away. We have yet to confirm this.

 

Earlier update: The victims were able to escape the vehicle. It was originally reported as the vehicle was on fire but when emergency personnel arrived on scene the fire was either extinguished or it was not on fire at all. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Please avoid the area or expect traffic delays.

Just before 2 PM several emergency personnel were responding to a rollover accident in Boone County.

A vehicle has rolled over on Newberg  just west of Ispen.

Everyone was able to evacuate out of the vehicle. Injuries were being reported but it is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

Please avoid this area or expect traffic delays.

The cause of the accident is under investigation

 








Rockford Scanner™: Serious motorcycle accident, Possible head-on collision



 

 

 

 Around 8 PM several emergency personnel were responding to a serious motorcycle accident in Boone County.

There is reports of a serious motorcycle accident near Candlewick in Boone County

 

The motorcycle was laying in the middle of the roadway, a possible head on collision. But not yet confirmed.

Injuries are being reported please avoid the area for a while.

Rockford Scanner™: Four ambulances and two medical helicopters dispatched to a very serious accident scene



 

 

Around 3 PM several emergency personnel responding to a very serious accident that  included a semi.

Multiple vehicles are reported to be involved in the accident.

It had been in the area of Marengo Road and business 20. 

Four ambulances and two medical helicopters had been dispatched to the scene.

At least one person has to be cut out of the vehicle and extrication is being requested.

This sounds like a very serious accident scene. Police have closed down the area to traffic.

 Sally Baker is reporting an auto accident in Boone County in the area of Shaw and Spring Creek.

It happened approximately 8 AM this morning.

At the time of writing this, it was not yet known on injuries.

She said the driver’s-side quarter panel is obliterated on the vehicle on the ditch. There is also roofing debris in the roadway.

Please avoid this area or expect delays.

The cause of the accident is under investigation

 Just before 5 AM several sources were reporting a serious accident in Boone County. It happened in the area of business 20 and Irene.

Reports of multiple vehicles are involved in the accident. At least one of the vehicles has caught on fire.

Injuries were being reported, it is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

Emergency personnel do have the roadway blocked off. You want to avoid this area for the next several hours.

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued an Excessive Heat Warning in effect from 11 AM Friday through 7 PM Saturday.

* TEMPERATURE...Afternoon highs in the mid 90s and nighttime
  lows in the mid 70s to near 80 degrees.

* HEAT INDICES...Peak Heat Indices in the 105 to 115 degree
  range.

* IMPACTS...The high temperatures, combined with ample sunshine
  and oppressive humidity, even at night, will lead to
  potentially hazardous conditions, particularly for the elderly
  and those with pre-existing health conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The combination of high temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in
which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...
stay out of the sun...and check upon relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When possible...reschedule strenuous
activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work...the occupational safety and health administration recommends
scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome
by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.   Heat stroke is an emergency...call 9 1 1.

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.
