Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Incident in Rockford, Still Developing

Update: RPD said  it was unfounded. 

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford. 

Reports that numerous shots were fired inside an apartment building in the 1200 block of 8th st and someone was screaming about a person being shot. 

Numerous emergency personnel are on scene. 

We have been told this is a possible fatal, but not confirmed. We tried to ask the RPD for information, they said they can not confirm nor deny anything right now. 

Note: This is the same area as a victim shot and killed the other day, and another victim shot in the chest the night before that.  Details on those 2 shootings on our website.

This is still developing.  No suspect information.

Rockford Scanner™: One Injured In An Apartment Fire in Rockford

UPDATE: Sources said a firefighter was also injured and was transported to a local hospital. The firefighter was treated and released.

Sources are reporting an apartment fire around 1 am near 1212 North Horace ave. 

At least one victim has been injured. Victim has burned their hands.

This is a 2 apartment complex. The flames are coming from the living room of the upper apartment. 

Several pets are inside the apartment. 

A MABAS box 11 has been toned out, several area fire departments are en route. 

UPDATE: Neighbors told us they heard very large fireworks in the area, just prior to the fire. It is unknown on the cause of the fire at this time. Several emergency personnel from several area jurisdictions were on scene battling the fire.  The victims injuries are believed to be non life threatening, emergency personnel has yet to confirm this.

Rockford Scanner™: Apartment Fire With Possible Injuries in Rockford, Still Developing


Sources are reporting an apartment fire in Rockford.

It happened around 5:30 pm in the 500 block of N Main.

Reports of an apartment on fire on the 3rd floor of the building.

Several units from the Rockford Fire Department are en route

Smoke and flames  are showing from the outside, on the 3rd floor.

One person has suffered injuries. RFD said non life threatening injuries. The woman was transported to a local ER for burns. Some pets were also injured (burned) in the fire.

A candle is believed to have been the cause of the fire,  RFD is investigating.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Investigating Another Armed Robbery in Rockford

Sources are reporting another armed robbery in Rockford.

This one happened last night just after 11 pm.  It happened in the 1600 block of Hamilton ave in Rockford. That is located near the area of 11th st and Sandy Hollow.

Google maps shows the address as Ken-Rock Apartments

We were told there was an armed robbery near this location and the suspect used a gun during the robbery.  Unknown on injuries. Unknown on suspect information.

Rockford Police confirmed they are investigating this robbery


Rockford Scanner™: Man Falls Asleep Driving, Crashes Into Multiple Vehicles near S Beloit

South Beloit Police and Fire Departments responded to the Foxwoods Hills apartment complex on Arneman Drive for a vehicle that struck several other vehicles in the parking lot.

Investigation revealed that the green Chrysler was north bound on 251 and left the roadway crossing through the ditch, striking a large dumpster and then two vehicles in the apartment complex parking lot.

The driver and sole occupant states he fell asleep. He refused medical attention and this crash is under investigation by the police department.

Sources are reporting a large fire at a multi family apartment structure in Rockford.

It happened around 4 pm in the 2600 block of Halsted.

Reports of smoke and flames coming from the structure.

Unknown if everyone was able to evacuate safely.  Unknown on injuries.

Several emergency personnel are on scene.
