Nicole Burton This was my house, the cat is staying overnight at the vet. Everyone is safe. But my cat ran away out of the firefighters arms so if you see her let me know.

Sources are reporting another structure fire.

This one happened in the 600 block of 2nd st in Rockford around 3 pm.

Reports of the residence on fire and someone possibly still inside on the 2nd floor.

RFD arrived on scene are were laying a booster line and were going offensive. There was smoke and flames showing.

Sounds like an animal has been injured, possibly fatally.

Still developing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE: They have upgraded this to a 2nd alarm fire.
More units are en route. A cat has been rescued and RFD are trying to revive it.  We been told a person was possibly injured, but not confirmed yet.

Rockford Scanner™: Several Accidents, Vehicle Crashes Into A House & Driver Flees

UPDATE: Sources said the alleged suspect is Daniel Gonzalez.

Update: Witness told us: ”  I witnessed the  Jeep rear end the Kia on State, then I saw him wipe out the porch of the house off Prospect, before he sped off. The Jeep in the pictures is definitely the same vehicle. The driver was driving erratically, swerving side to side and at very high speeds. I called 911 then went back to the scene of the first accident and gave a statement.”

Sources are reporting a few accidents.

  • Charles and 20th. Vehicle crashed into a pole. Reports of a vehicle trying to flee and then crashed. Unconfirmed reports are saying the person smelled heavily of alcohol and may be DUI.
  • Prospect and 2nd, a vehicle crashed into a house and the driver fled the scene.
  • East State st and Easton Parkway, auto accident.

Note: We been told the scenes at Charles/20th and 2nd/Prospect,  might be related.  We been told the vehicle hit the house and Prospect and 2nd first, then fled. Then he crashed into the pole at Charles and 20th a short time later.


Rockford Scanner™: Rollover Accident With Possible Extrication

Sources are reporting a rollover accident with extrication needed.

It happened around 9:40 am this morning near 6th st and Whitman.  That is near the area of all the ramps, near Whitman st exit.

There is an auto accident near this intersection and extrication is needed to cut at least one of the victims out of the vehicle.

A vehicle is in the ravine area.

Injuries were being reported. It is not yet known on the severity of the injures.

The cause of the accident is under investigation

Around 5:35 am this morning, several emergency personnel were battling a house fire in Rockford.

A house is on fire near N Second and Whitman st. 700 block of N Second st

Heavy flames and smoke are showing.

2 Story house, flames showing on the B side.

Unknown if the house is occupied.

Reports of at least one person injured and transported to a local ER.

Person came out of the basement with a child.

Search and rescue is underway.

Still developing.

UPDATE: They are telling the firefighters to back out, they have heavy fire in the rear roof. Partial roof collapse on the C side of the building. 716 North Second Street. Additional fire companies have been requested to the scene. They have upgraded this to a 2nd Alarm

Rockford Scanner™: Man Robbed in Rockford, RPD Silent In Call Log


Source  sent us the following:

“There was a robbery downtown this morning about 5 a.m. my friend was walking to the bus stop to catch the bus to go to work

He was jumped by two black men with hoodies on ans armed with  a gun

They robbed him. The guy said please don’t shoot me just take the money , which was about $80

Apparently after he had paid his bills that he had saved for his groceries

Luckily he had his phone in his pocket and they didn’t check that!!

He said he called the police and they said there’s nothing they could do about it but take a report!

Nobody should have to go through this trying to go to work…

This is the second one I know of now that has been robbed the other one was slashed remember?

This happened on 2nd Street one block from Walnut Street around 5am

Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Suspect Flees From Police,Police Capture Suspect




On Friday, August 24, 2018 shortly after 6 p.m., Rockford Police officers went to a residence in the 200 block of Washington Street to serve a warrant to 18-year-old Jerome Davidson. He was wanted on a charge of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm following a shooting on February 18, 2018.

When officers arrived, they saw Davidson leave the residence. Davidson ran westbound away from officers but was quickly apprehended in the 200 block of S. London Avenue. A K9 unit located a handgun discarded by Davidson while he was fleeing

Upon further review, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the below charges against Davidson.

Jerome Davidson, 18, Rockford: Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Resisting a Police Officer, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (warrant)

Davidson was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Davidson are merely accusations. Davidson is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.



Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Police Investigating More Shots Fired

On August 19, 2018 at 11:45AM members of the Rockford Police Department responded to the 1700 block of 2nd Ave. to investigate shots fired at an apartment building. Upon arrival officers met with two female Rockford residents who said their apartment had been struck (5) times by gunfire. Officers located (5) bullet holes on the outside of the apartment. There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire. A witness observed a mid 2000’s burgundy SUV in the immediate area during the incident. This investigation is still on going.

Sources are reporting shots rang out in Rockford just before noon today. 

It happened in the 1700 block of 2nd ave. 

Alleged suspects are 4 male blacks in a Maroon 2002 Rav 4. 

Suspects shot the gun out of the passenger side of the vehicle. 

Some sources have said a person was hit by he gunfire, but we can not yet confirm this. 

RPD confirms a “Weapons violation”



Rockford Scanner™: Pedestrian Struck By A Vehicle, Injuries Being Reported. Still Developing

Around 2 pm today emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries in Rockford. 

It happened in the area of E State st and 2nd. 

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near this location. 

Unknown on the severity of the injuries at the time of writing this. 

Avoid the area.
