Sources are reporting multiple stabbing victims in Boone County.

It happened around 9:30 pm last night in the 100 block of Appleton in Boone County.  At least two people were stabbed at this location.

A third stabbing victim was in the 400 block of W Menominee in Boone County.

Unknown if these scenes are related.

Unknown on the victims conditions.

RPD: Eastbound Harrison Avenue between 20th Street and Ohio Parkway is shutdown due to slick conditions and numerous accidents. Use caution at the North Second/Spring Creek interchanges as that area is also extremely slick. Drive slowly and carefully this morning!


We all knew it was coming.  The first snow fall, brings a lot of accidents.

Several accidents are being reported all over the area.

The worst ones are on the bypass  and also business 20, I-39 and also on I-90. Other roads that are being reported that are very slick: Caledonia road, N Second, Perryville, Harrison, Mulford, Bridge st, N Main, RT 75, Pretty much every main road is slick this morning via RS fan reports.

Several cars in the ditches, some have rolled over.  Extrication was needed at a one of the scenes,  at Montague and 20.

Injuries have been reported, but I have yet to hear any life threatening injuries. Sounds like most are non life threatening injuries.

Rockford Scanner®: Local Man Arrested on 19 Felony Charges After A Double Fatal Accident

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sycamore man on nineteen felony charges resulting from a double fatality accident which occurred on March 26, 2018.

Corey Lee, 30 years old of Sycamore, Illinois was charged with three counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Cannabis – Accident Resulting in Death (Class 2 Felony), two counts of On Duty and Under the Influence of Cannabis – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Reckless Homicide (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Violation of Physical Qualifications – On Duty and Under the Influence of Cannabis – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Violation of Physical Qualifications – No Medical Certification – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Operating While Fatigued – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Violation of Inspection Requirements – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), one count of Violation of Physical Qualifications – On Duty and Under the Influence of Cannabis (Class 4 Felony), one count of Violation of Physical Qualifications – No Medical Certification (Class 3 Felony), one count of Operating While Fatigued (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Violation of Inspection Requirements (Class 3 Felony). Lee was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $250,000.00 (10%) bond.

On March 26, 2018 at approximately 6:30 am, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Stone Quarry Road and Bloods Point Road in rural Boone County. The investigation revealed that Cory Lee, who was driving westbound on Bloods Point Road in a 2015 Ford Commercial Truck, failed to stop at a stop sign. Lee’s vehicle entered the intersection striking a 2004 Dodge Dakota, which was traveling southbound on Stone Quarry Road. The driver of the Dodge Dakota, Pedro Pasillas Delgado, 22 years old, and his father, Pedro Pasillas Sanchez, 52 years old, were both killed.

The arrest of Lee came after a seven month investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was completed and turned over to the Boone County States Attorney’s Office. On November 1, 2018, a Boone County Grand Jury indicted Lee on the nineteen felony charges.

The class 2 felony is punishable by six (6) to twenty-eight (28) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. A class 3 felony is punishable by two (2) to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. A class 4 felony is punishable by one (1) to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone having information on a crime or narcotic trafficking to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 815-544-2144 or Crime Stoppers at 815-547-7867.

It happened in the  500 block of Rebecca.

Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Suspect is fighting with police,  no other information

Sources reporting a fire/explosion at a business near Kingston.

It happened this morning at US Chrome at 305 Herbert, in Kingston.

Initial reports are saying someone was using a plasma cutter to cut opena tank, when something inside the tank ignited and exploded and caught the business on fire.

No reports of injuries.  Several area fire departments helped battle the fire.

Around 5:30 pm tonight, several fire departments were responding to a 2nd alarm fire in Boone County.

Initial reports are saying the structure fire is near 648 Highway 20 near Cherry Valley/Boone.  That address is the FPM Heat Treating.

Several fire departments are enroute to help battle the fire.

Requesting Belvidere Fire MDU (mass decontamination unit) for ammonia tank. Unit 393 to deliver. Actively pumping water now. Cherry Valley ladder truck out of service; 2nd ladder still requested. Requesting ComEd and Nicor to scene. Ambulance on site; 2nd ambulance en route. Rockford Fire en route with ladder and chief.”

The Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit concludes a six month drug investigation with the arrest of a Poplar Grove resident on felony drug charges.

Cesar E. Fournier, age 23 of Poplar Grove, was charged with three counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class 1 Felony).

On Thursday, September 27th, the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit was assisted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop during which Cesar E. Fournier was arrested on a Boone County warrant for three counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class 1 Felony).

After the arrest of Fournier, Metro Narcotics Investigators, members of the Rockford DEA Task Force, and Boone County deputies executed a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of Cornwall Circle in Poplar Grove.

During the investigation cocaine, a firearm, a vehicle, and United States currency was seized. Fournier is being held in the Boone County Jail in lieu of $150,000 10% bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. A class 1 felony is punishable by 4-15 years in the Department of Corrections.

Persons with information leading to an arrest can be provided with a cash reward of up to $1000.00.

Rockford Scanner™: Two Arrested For Drugs After A Traffic Stop in Boone County

Thursday, September 27, 2018, a Boone County Sheriff’s Department Deputy conducted a traffic stop on I-90 east of Genoa Road resulting in the arrest of two Chicago men on felony drug charges. A Boone County Sheriff’s Department K-9 responded to the stop and during the course of the investigation one of the men fled on foot. Members of the Belvidere Police Department and Illinois State Police assisted the Sheriff’s Department and both men were subsequently taken into custody. 


Investigators with the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit were called to assist. During the investigation approximately 188 grams of cocaine, approximately 94 grams of heroin, and United States Currency was seized.

Curtis K. Jones, age 41, of Chicago was charged with two (2) counts of Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (class X felony), two (2) counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled substance (Class 1 felony), and one (1) count of Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor). Jones remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail in lieu of $500,000/10% bond.

Demond R. Sanders, age 27, of Chicago was charged with two (2) counts of Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (class X felony), two (2) counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled substance (Class 1 felony), and one (1) count of Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor). Jones remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail in lieu of $250,000/10% bond.

Just after 7 PM several emergency personnel were responding to two different accident scenes in Boone County

 

The first accident scene was in the 2900 block of Route 173. There are two vehicles that are involved in an accident near this location and one of the vehicles has hit a nearby residence. Unknown on the injuries at this time.

The second accident scene was near the Walmart in Boone County. Three vehicles are involved in this accident scene. Unknown nine injuries at this time.

Both the accident scenes are under investigation

The Belvidere Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Joe McDermott, Officer Matthew Korn, and Officer Chris Garcia for earning Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorist awards.

Their efforts in DUI enforcement during the last year have helped to keep our streets safer. We would also like to thank Heather Lopez from AAIM for coming to the Belvidere City Council meeting last night and having the courage to tell her family’s tragic story and to then present our officers with their AAIM awards.

 

 

 







Rockford Scanner™: Shooting in Belvidere, Possibly involving a police officer

UPDATE:

On Sunday, September 23, 2018 the Belvidere Police Department received a 911 call reporting shots fired in the 2300 block of Fairfield Trail, Belvidere, Il 61008. Belvidere Patrol Officers, Belvidere Fire Dept., and Lifeline Ambulance responded to the area.

On arrival, Belvidere officers located a male in his late 20’s with a single gunshot wound to the torso. Belvidere officers and paramedics rendered first aid until Lifeline ambulance arrived on scene and transported the victim to St. Anthony hospital.

Belvidere officers located a handgun and a male suspect at the scene. The scene was secured, and the suspect was transported to the Belvidere Police Department for questioning.

The victim is in stable condition and has been released from the hospital. The incident is still under investigation
