Rockford Scanner™: Police Investigating Another Shooting Victim in Rockford

On Wednesday, September 18, 2019 just after 11:30 PM Rockford Police Officers responded to the area of 900 13th Street in reference to shots fired. Officers located a parked vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. A male self transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The injury was determined to be non-life threatening. No other injuries were reported.

It happened just before 10:30 pm in the Blackhawk Housing complex.

Several officers are on scene near Meadow ct.   We have been told this is a possible shooting incident, but not yet confirmed.

Several officers are on scene, avoid the area for awhile.

6TH STREET SHOOTING LATEST: The 30-year-old male victim shot on Tuesday at 6th St. and E. State has died from his injuries. His name is not being released at this time. Additional charges for the suspect, Jamie Pearson, are pending review by the SA’s Office

6TH STREET SHOOTING ARREST: 28-year-old Jamie Pearson was taken into custody last night following Tuesday’s shooting on 6th St. that injured 2 people. The incident was not random. He now faces attempted murder and aggravated battery charges

Sources told us the suspect vehicle is a dark colored impala with tinted windows, damage to the driver side rear quarter panel, no hubcap on the passenger side, and no front plate. Last seen southbound on 6th st

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford. 

It happened just before 3 pm today near State and 6th st.

Reports of several shots were fired and one person was shot in the head.

A victim was reported to have been seen laying in the roadway.

Possible multiple victims but not yet confirmed.

Police have the area blocked off.

RPD has not released any information.

The suspect(s) are still roaming the streets of Rockford, police have not released any information on the incident or suspects

UPDATE: RPD released the following info: SHOOTING UPDATE: Initial investigation shows shots fired between two vehicles traveling SB on 6th near E. State. Two people struck in one vehicle – one has life-threatening injuries, unknown on other victim’s condition at this time
NOTE: A local news station is reporting this to be a fatal shooting, but not yet confirmed.



Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Crashes Head On Into A Tree, Extrication Needed.

RS sources are reporting an auto accident with injuries, and extrication is needed. 

A vehicle has crashed head on into a tree in the 2400 block of Bell ave.

Injuries were being reported. It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

Extrication was needed to cut the victim out of the vehicle.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Sources are reporting 2 scenes:
Several sources are reporting 2 scenes on the East side. 

  • Multiple gunshots were fired in the area of 11th st and Harrison ave area.  We have been told there is at least one shooting victim, possibly multiple victims. We have been told the alleged suspect is a black male wearing dark clothing, in a dark colored vehicle.
  • Several emergency personnel at the apartments on Harrison near the Fas Fuel.

Unknown if these 2 scenes are related.

Police have not released any information or confirmed anything.



Rockford Scanner™: Possible Abandoned Factory On Fire, With Someone Trapped On The Roof

UPDATE: Contractors working on the building. 


Sources are reporting an abandoned structure fire with someone possibly trapped on the roof. 

It happened just before 7:30 pm tonight near Kishwaukee and 23rd ave. 

Reports of the building on fire with unconfirmed reports are saying a person is trapped on the roof. 

A person said they saw flames coming from the building and a person on the rooftop. 

Used to be a factory, and is 5 stories tall.

It happened around 4:20 near S Alpine and Public.

There is an auto accident near this intersection and multiple injuries were being reported.  At least 2 ambulances were on scene.  Unknown on the severity of the injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Suspects on a robbery spree tonight?

Sources are reporting yet another armed robbery in Rockford.

This one happened in the 500 block of Cherry.

2 male suspects brutally beat the female victim and robbed her.

She needed medical attention.

2 suspects: 1 black male, white shirt and black pants and a backpack  and 1 white male, grey shirt and black pants. Armed with a gun.
