Rockford Scanner™: Police Chase & Standoff In Machesney Park

Update: Unconfirmed reports are saying these were robbery suspects and the chase started near Beloit and came down into Illinois on I-90.  At least one person is in custody.

Sources are reporting several officers were chasing a dark colored truck on I-90. The suspect in the vehicle then got out of the truck and fled into a nearby field. Numerous officers had a perimeter around the field. Traffic is backed up for many miles. Unknown why the man fled from police. Still developing

“Reward to anyone who can lead me in the direction of a thief who stole my father’s skid loader yesterday Monday between 2:20pm an 3:50 pm I have 2000 cash, 100 dollar bills that leads me to this pos punk!!!!

Its a 2010 262c Caterpillar rubber tire with forks onto as attachment right now 505hrs thanks. Stolen from byron…  It was taken out of our yard between 2 20 and 310. It was seen on a flat bed truck heading east on Oak grove rd. Cameras may help us, if anyone can check theirs. If its brought back, no questions.”



Rockford Scanner™: Local Business Was Just Robbed, Still Developing


Admin Will is working the scene. He said there are numerous officers working the scene. Crime scene tape is up at the Mobil.

He said there is a scene just North of the Mobil. A police paddy wagon was on scene.  An ambulance was also there, and being escorted by police.  Unknown if this scene is related to the robbery.

Sources are reporting a local business was just robbed. 

It happened at the Mobil gas station at 1344 E State st (Near Swedish American Hospital) 

A white male wearing a black scarf and a blue hoody robbed the store and stole the cash register.

Last seen on foot with the register, headed northbound on Summit. 



Rockford Scanner™: Hit & Run To A Pedestrian in Rockford, Victim Not Breathing And The Suspect Vehicle Fled The Scene



Vehicle has been located by the police. This is a confirmed fatal.  The victim is in her 50’s.  If you have any information, please call the RPD.

Suspect information is described as the following:
Small red SUV with no plates on the vehicle. Male black driver approx. 25 years old, westbound on Auburn.

Sources are reporting a hit and run to a pedestrian in Rockford.  It happened around 8:30 pm tonight in the 260 block of Auburn st, near On The Way.

A  female  has been hit by a vehicle and is currently not breathing.  The vehicle has fled the scene. Unknown on the description.

Note: It was originally reported as a small child approx. 10 years old, but sources are now reporting the victim may be an older female in her 50’s. So it is not clear on the victims age. Original reports said approx. 10 years old, newer reports are saying in her 50’s.  RPD has yet to release any information.



Rockford Scanner™: Another Shooting Victim in Rockford, Still Developing

Sources are reporting another shooting scene in Rockford.

This one happened around 8:25 pm in the 2000 block of Arthur.

The victim was shot at a different location and went to this location to seek help.  The shooting happened around 8 pm, at another location.

Unknown on the severity of the injuries or suspect information.

UPDATE: The female victim was shot in the shoulder area. Possible non life threatening injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: One Shooting Victim Just Now in Rockford, Still Developing


The adult male victim shot in the 4900 block of Harrison Avenue succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. His identity is not being released at this time. RPD investigating the incident as a murder.

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.

Sources are reporting numerous emergency personnel working a shooting scene in the 4900 block of Harrison ave, around 8:15 pm.

Reports of several gunshots were fired and one person was struck by the bullets.  Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Update: The male victim around 30 years old was shot in the back. Life threatening injuries, according to sources.

Suspects are reported to be 2 black males, that fled on foot behind the apartment complex. Then got into a smaller Gray vehicle that was last seen on Harrison.

UPDATE from the RPD on the 2 different shooting scenes: RPD on scene of 2 separate shootings: one person shot in the 4700 block of Harrison. That victim was transported to hospital, condition unknown at this time. Location of second shooting still unclear, but female victim suffered non-life-threatening wound to arm.

Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Acts Like A Local Police Officer, Then Robs A Woman

Sources are reporting a suspect acted like a local police officer,then robbed a woman.  It happened in the 500 block of N Winnebago around 11:30 pm

A suspect acted like he was a Freeport police officer and rang the doorbell of a residence in the 500 block of N Winnebago. A woman approx. 60 years old answered the door.

The suspect pointed a flashlight in her face and held a gun to her.  The suspect who was acting like a police officer and 2 other suspects with him, robbed her.

Suspect is a black male, 5’10 ,wearing a ski mask and a black jacket or black hooded sweatshirt. No description on the other 2 suspects.
