It happened around 7:45 pm in the area of Chestnut and Webster

No suspect information.

RPD did not log this call in the call logs.

Unrelated: Rockford Police were investigating another shots fired call on Eagle Drive around 4:20 pm.  We been told there was a possible victim, but RPD has yet to release any information on either of these incidents.

Sources are reporting several emergency personnel in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue just before 2 AM this morning.

Sources said this is a shooting incident, we cannot yet confirm this.

Neighbor said they heard gunshots and someone screaming something about someone burglarizing the house.  They are also reporting they heard  other screams of people saying they were shot, just prior to the police arriving on scene.

Rockford police confirm an “in progress person” call at this location but would not provide any other details. In the past police had labeled shooting calls as an in progress person.

Rockford Scanner™: BREAKING: Shots Fired During A Business Robbery in Rockford, Suspects Get Away

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY: On Sunday, January 13, 2019, shortly before 11:00 a.m. patrol officers responded to the Family Dollar, 715 Broadway, in reference to an attempted armed robbery. When they arrived, officers learned that a black male suspect wearing a mask had entered the business armed with a handgun. When the suspect confronted two employees, the employees attempted to flee. The suspect then fired two rounds from the handgun in the direction of the employees before fleeing the scene on foot. No one was injured during the incident and the suspect was unable to obtain anything of value from the business.

Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident. The suspect is described as a black male in his late twenties, wearing a black hat with a light blue bandana over his face, black hoodie, gray pants, and white shoes.

Sources are reporting shots were fired during an armed robbery to a Rockford business just before noon today.

It happened at the Family Dollar store at Kishwaukee and Broadway.

Reports are saying 2 suspects went in to the business and robbed the store. During the robbery shots were fired. No reports of injuries at this time.

Numerous shell casings are being recovered at the scene

Employees are reported to be shook up, but OK.

No other information at this time.

Sources are reporting at least 10 police squad cars are at the gas station at the intersection of School Street and Kilburn.

Sources in the area reported shots fired in that area shortly before the police arrived at the scene. So it is not yet known if these two incidents are related.

Rockford Scanner™: Update on last night shooting in Rockford

NOTE: Winnebago County Sheriff Office (Or any local police departments) RARELY releases any press releases, so do not expect an update on this story. Sorry, but this is what happens when they encrypted.

On December 12, 2018 at 4:20pm hours, Rockford Officers responded to 1114 N. Winnebago St in reference to a shooting victim. Through further investigation, they learned that the 39-year old victim had just pulled up in front of the residence.

As he was exiting his vehicle, a white sedan, possibly a Chrysler, drove by at a high rate of speed. The victim heard several gunshots and discovered that he was struck by gunfire. The victim was transported by Rockford Fire to Mercy Health Hospital where his injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Several spent bullet casings were located in the street. The victim’s vehicle sustained a single gunshot as well as the above residence. No other persons were injured during the incident.

RPD are investigating a weapons violation.

Suspects in a silver vehicle fired off three gunshots on 6th st.

The suspects were last seen northbound, going the wrong way on 6th st.

We have had conflicting reports on injuries, so it is not yet known on injuries.

On 11/15/18 around 6:10 pm Rockford Police Officers responded to the 900 block of S. 3rd St in reference to a report of gunshots being fired.

Officers located a residence struck by gunfire in the 900 block of S. 3rd St. No injuries were reported. The suspects were described as black males.

On 11/11/18 at 9:37 pm Rockford Police Officers responded to the 2100 and 2200 block of Lawndale Ave for a report of gunshots fired and a house struck by gunfire.

Officers located two residences, which were occupied, to be struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
