Sources are reporting a vehicle has crashed into a Rockford business. 

It happened around 7:30 pm last night in the 3700 block of E State st in Rockford.

RPD confirmed the accident and confirmed there were injuries. It is unknown how severe the injuries were though.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. 

RPD: On Saturday August 10th,2019 at 7:30 PM, Officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to Royal Liquors in 3700 block of E. State Street to investigate a motor vehicle accident. Officers arrived to find a vehicle had driven through the front glass entrance door of the business. The female driver was not injured and stayed. This investigation is currently ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.

Sources have told us around 2:30 am this morning, suspects purposely ran over a victim in Rockford.  It happened around 2:30 am in the 700 block of Royal ave in Rockford.

The victim was injured and had leg and head injuries.

Suspects fled the scene. No suspect information.

RPD has yet to release information on this incident.

Sources are reporting a structure fire in Rockford.

It happened in the area of 814 Royal ave in Rockford.

Reports of a structure on fire. Possibly a detached garage that is on fire.

Unknown on injuries.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

RFD: Rockford Fire is on scene at 800 Royal Avenue for a garage fire. Engine 6 is first on scene and reports flames and smoke are visible from the detached garage.

Rockford Scanner™: Sources Reporting Houses And Vehicles Hit By Gunfire in Rockford

Around 10 pm tonight sources are reporting they heard shots fired near Andrews.

A short time later sources were reporting two houses were hit in the 300 block of Royal ave. And vehicles were also struck by the gunfire.

No reports of any injuries yet.

No suspect information.

Rockford Scanner™: Two Ambulances Dispatched To An Accident in Rockford, Avoid The Area


UPDATE: Source said a vehicle hit at least one motorcyclist, possibly two. Then fled the scene. Police are reported to be searching for the vehicle.

It is not yet known what the vehicle description is. When RPD releases information, we will update this. 


Around 2 am this morning, emergency personnel were en route to an accident with injuries in Rockford.

It happened in the area of Auburn and Royal. 

Injuries were being reported. unknown on the severity of the injuries. 

Two ambulances have been dispatched to the scene. 

Details are minimal right now.  Avoid the area. 


Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Victim in Rockford


Winnebago County Coroner has identified the victim as 30-year-old Desiree Weir-Stephens from Rockford. She passed away from a gunshot wound to the head.


Source is saying: “The woman was shot in the head from behind, the bullet came out the front. The young man who was involved has been cleared and released on self defense.

People at the women’s home came out and start shooting at the young man who’s image was on RRStar. He started shooting back in self defense.

He did not shoot her, it was someone with her that shot her from behind. The young man surrendered after the shooting and has been home since yesterday night, with no charges.

And the individual described as the shooter never had a gun, his is also home.”



On Wednesday, May 16th, 2018, shortly before 4:30 p.m. patrol officers and detectives from the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Royal Avenue in reference to a shooting investigation. When they arrived, officers located a 30-year-old female victim who had apparently been shot in the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. The name of the victim is not being released pending the notification of family.

The Rockford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving this crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Investigations Bureau (779-500-6551) or Crime Stoppers (815-963-7867).

This is an on-going investigation and no further details are available at this time. Further information will be released should it become available.

The victim has passed away. 

Autopsy will be performed tomorrow. Her name has yet to be released. 



One person was confirmed shot.

A female in her 30’s. Sounds like the victim was shot in the head.

Transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Suspect information: Black male in his 20’s that fled the scene on foot. 

Police and emergency personnel are on scene.
