Update from Roscoe Police
Roscoe Police just responded to a robbery at First National Bank located at 5360 Bridge Street. See attached photo. white male, five feet 8 inches tall, black rimmed glasses, wearing an olive colored cross over back pack. The subject drove away from the area unknown direction of travel in a Maroon 4-door sedan type vehicle. A weapon was not displayed but implied. Subjects identified as suspects are innocent until proven guilty
Sources are reporting the bank in the 5300 block of Bridge st in Roscoe has been robbed just after 9 am. Suspect was last seen on N Second st.
HRFD: Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters were dispatched to Swanson Rd and Belvidere Rd for a rollover accident at 3:04 pm Tuesday. (Sept. 17) The crash involved a Jeep and farm tractor. Belvidere Rd was completely shut down. Both drivers refused transport.
Around 12:30 am this morning several emergency personnel were on scene of a fire in Machesney park.
It happened on Shappert Drive, just west of N Second st.
It was originally reported as a structure fire call. When I arrived on scene it appeared to be a vehicle that was on fire. It may have extended to the structure, but not confirmed. Emergency personnel were able to quickly get the fire under control. No reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The vehicle had some writing on it, it appeared to say that it was from a landscaping business, but not confirmed.
I saw on one of the vehicles a name that said Landscaping Unlimited. A source sent me the following. It is not confirmed this was the business. It was either at or very close to this business
Roscoe Police Press Release: Police are seeking the driver of a maroon pickup truck (unknown, make/model/registration) with a loud exhaust in connection to a suspicious incident that occurred in the 11000 block of Lemon Grass Ln.
Sources have told us the incident was an attempted child abduction. But police are encrypted have not released anymore information or confirmed this.
Update: After we posted this, the Roscoe PD released this: On 09/03/2019 the Roscoe Police responded to the 11,000 block of Lemon Grass Lane for a suspicious incident where a male approached a juvenile who was playing at their residence. The individual was described as a white male, 18-22 years old, brown hair, with a beard, wearing a white shirt and orange shorts. The male left the scene after briefly speaking with the juvenile and entered a maroon pickup truck (unknown make/model/registration) with a loud exhaust.
