Police spotted a stolen Blue Camry at the Fasmart on N Second st in Roscoe.

Suspect armed with a gun.

Note: Unconfirmed, but it was stolen from the North Town Mall area.

The video above, was taken from a sources security camera system as the vehicle fled

Neighbor had her kids in the front yard when the car drove through the yard almost hitting them

This afternoon several sources were reporting a couple bad accidents in the area.

The first one was line I 38 near mile marker 116 in the southbound lanes. Reports of a multiple semi pile up including one semi that possibly rolled over.

Another accident scene was in Machesney Park on 173 near Continental

Another accident scene was on Love Road in the Roscoe area

Another accident scene, this one requiring extrication. That is near  Brown and Court st in Rockford

All three accident scenes were reporting injuries it is not yet known and the severity of these injuries. You want to avoid these areas or expect traffic delays. The cause of these accidents are under investigation

UPDATE:   This is a fatal accident.  One person is confirmed dead.

The male driver of the red car, who was traveling east on Spring Creek, has died after crashing head-on into the maroon car (westbound) at approximately 1:15 this afternoon.


Around 1:20 pm today, sources were reporting a bad accident in Rockford. 

It happened in the area of the 3500 block of Spring Creek. 

There is an auto accident near this location. 

Injuries were being report, unknown on the severity of the injuries. 

Three ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

It is in front of Eisenhower Middle School.

Extrication is being requested to cut at least one person out of the vehicle. 

Avoid the area or expect delays


RPD is on scene of a serious, 3 car accident on Spring Creek Rd. in front of Eisenhower Middle School. Spring Creek will be shut down for several hours. The only way to access the school is from the east. Driftwood Lane is still open.

Rock Energy Cooperative is reporting a power outage across Rockton and Roscoe area that is affecting around 1,283 costumers or around 32.5%.

They said crews have been notified, but the cause is unknown at this time. There is no estimated time on when it will be restored.

There have been several bad accidents reported in the area today.

Two different rollover accidents on Kishwaukee.  One near College and the other near 8th ave.

Head on crash near Broadway near the Eastgate Shopping Center.

Another head on near Latham and Old River.

 








Rockford Scanner™: BREAKING: Airplane Crashes Near Roscoe, Several Emergency Personnel En Route



UPDATE: The plane is a Piper aircraft that is registered to DBG AVIATION INC out of Roscoe, Illinois. 

Three people were injured. One male, One Female, and unknown on the 3rd victim.  (Possible juvenile female) 

At least one person was flown by helicopter to a local hospital. 

They took 2 victims from the plane via an ATV, and one victim from the plane straight to an ambulance and then to the emergency helicopter. 

Two of them were alive and conscious and had bandages around their heads. Two appeared to have head injuries. Unknown on the 3rd victim.  

The cause of the accident is under investigation.  Unconfirmed, but possible mechanical issue. Reports of the aircraft losing power, just prior to crashing.

The airplane had just taken off from the airport, just prior to the accident.  It crashed in the middle of the cornfield, just a few hundred yards from the IL/WI border.

The pilot, was one of the first people to call emergency personnel.

On 08/12/18 at 0832 hour the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, South Beloit Police Department, and local Fire Departments were dispatched to a cornfield in the area of Manchester Rd. East of Gardner Rd. for a plane crash. The airplane was found in a cornfield several hundred yards south of the runway of the Beloit Airport. This cornfield was just into Illinois by a few hundred yards.

Shortly after 8:00 A.M. this morning the private airplane (A Piper Lance airplane), took off from the Beloit Airport enroute to the Wisconsin Dells Area. Shortly after takeoff witnesses saw the airplane crash into the field South of the Runway. The crash site was located by first responders. First responders rendered aid to the passengers on board the airplane.

There were 3 people on the plane. A Male adult Pilot, a female adult passenger, and a juvenile female passenger. The adult pilot and the juvenile passenger were transported to a local hospital and were treated and released from the hospital. The adult female passenger is being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies have secured the scene and the investigation will be conducted by The NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) and the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).

UPDATE: The plane crashed into a cornfield, near Beloit Airport area.

Around 8:38 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to a plane crash.

Update location: It happened in the area of Manchester and Gardiner near S Beloit

A plane has crashed near this location.

Harlem Roscoe FD and several other emergency personnel are e route.

This is breaking news and still developing.

Update: RS Fans are saying it was a Red pickup truck that had turned onto Prairie Hill Rd that hit a red bike. There was a large round crack on passenger side windshield. Mountain bike looked badly mangled. 

DELAYED POST:  Several RS fans are reporting of a SUV/Truck vs a Bicycle at McCurry Rd and Willowbrook.  It occurred around 7 am this morning.  Unknown at this time of the condition of the bicyclist.

There is an accident in the area of Old River rd. 

One of the vehicles involved is rolled over in the nearby cornfield. 

Injuries were reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries.

UPDATE: 5253 Mccurry rd is the location. American Aluminum.  At least one person has been injured. Male victim burned on the arm. Everyone has been evacuated. Rockton was sending an ambulance.

It happened near American Metal Extrusion.

Just before 5 pm today several units were en route to a vehicle on fire. 

On I-90 near the toll plaza near Roscoe in the Westbound lanes. 

There is reports of a vehicle that is on fire near this location.

Rockford Scanner™: Several Vehicles Broken Into At A Local Park



 

 

 

On 07/14/18 there were 5 reported burglary to motor vehicles during a sporting event at Swanson Park (5444 Swanson Rd).

In all 5 cases the windows were broken and purses were stolen from the vehicle.

Please remove valuables from inside your vehicle or keep them out of sight. Please report any suspicious activity.

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: RS Fans Rescue Baby Ducks From The Drain in Machesney Park



 

 

 

RS fan Crystal sent us the following video and information. 

Her husband and her rescued some baby ducks from the drainage ditch near the Target on 173 yesterday. After rescuing the baby ducks, the Winnebago County Sheriff office arrived on scene and transported the baby ducks to their mother. 


She sent us the following: “My husband and I crawled down in the sewer at the Target on 173 in Machesney Park and rescued baby ducks! We saw a duck frantically running around and we got out and heard the little chirps down in the sewer! My girls were so proud of us! Some of the shoppers thought we were committing a crime and next thing we knew the Winnebago Sheriffs were watching us as we climbed out of the sewer. We explained and showed them the ducks we put in a box that we rescued. The Sheriffs helped us locate the Mama duck and reunite the little adorable duck family!”

Around 10:55 pm, a call came in of box of fireworks that are either on fire or are in a fire.  It is a 1 foot by 1 foot box in the 670 block of Biscayne Place in Roscoe, IL.  Harlem Roscoe Fire Department is en route.  Still developing.








Rockford Scanner™: Crash on I-90 Near Roscoe

RS fans reporting a single vehicle crash on I-90/39 southbound just north of the Rockton Rd exit in Roscoe, IL. 

The crash involves a pickup truck that was pulling a cargo trailer that crashed into the middle concrete median. 

The far left and middle lanes going southbound appear to be closed and will likely stay closed until the crash is cleared. 

Please avoid the area or find an alternative route if possible. 

Unknown on injuries at this time.
