Victim beaten during a robbery at a Rockford business.

On Sunday, June 16 just before 8 PM Rockford Police Department responded to the Kentucky fried chicken at 3035 11th St. in reference to a robbery that just happened.

An 18-year-old male victim was beaten by two suspects. The suspects then proceeded to rob the victim of cash and other belongings. The suspects then fled on foot. The victim sustained injuries from the robbery.

Suspects are described as two black males both around 17 years old. One of them is approximately 6 foot one and weighing about 190 pounds, Last seen wearing a red hoodie and black pants.The other had on glasses and is approximately 6 foot two and weighing about 140 pounds, Last seen wearing a black Nike jacket and black pants.

Source wants to warn other citizens about recent vehicle thefts

“Just wanted to let everyone know there has been multiple car thefts in the area. Doors are being pride open to access cars for theft and to steal the actual car if they can. Two young thin black males, 13- 18, were seen exiting one of the stolen vehicles tonight (Friday) around 8 p.m. at Hershey Manor. They police officer recovered another Toyotas stolen plates, Honda civic keys, and other keys. Please lock your car doors and keep your cars in well lite areas.”

Douglas Lopes sent us this video of a scene at State and 6th.  It is unknown exactly what has happened at this time. 

NOTE: RPD call log shows this as a traffic stop.

UPDATE:  Sources at Midtown Wireless said “Scene on 6th and E. State St. was a police chase for speeding 30 mph over the limit the suspect parked onto the property and it lead to a resistant arrest inside a business.”

On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, shortly before 5:00 a.m., Rockford Police Patrol Officers responded to J & F Tobacco (2410 South Alpine Road) in reference to a business alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed extensive damage to the front door of the business. Officers learned a red pick-up truck rammed the front entrance twice without gaining entry to the business. The truck then fled the scene. Nothing was taken and no one was hurt.

Rockford Scanner™: Another Shooting Victim in Rockford, Police Investigating

Update: The victim is reported to be around 10 years old. This is the 2nd shooting that happened that involved a child, within a few hours of each other. The other incident a 12 year old  at

Both children were inside their homes when the suspects fired gunshots at the homes and the children were struck by the gunfire.  Both children were shot at the 2 different scenes. The injuries are believed to be non life threatening injuries.

Sources are reporting another shooting victim in Rockford. 

This one happened around 3 am near the 1900 block of Grenshaw in Rockford.  Reports of at least one shooting victim. It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries. At least 9 shots were fired near the intersection of Grenshaw & Kenmore. That is close to West Middle School. The victim was transported to a local E.R. No suspect information at this time.


Rockford Scanner™: Numerous police including the SWAT team are working a scene near Roscoe, possible very dangerous situation

We sat on the story a while waiting for police to release any information on it, and they have yet to do so so we are going to post it.

Multiple police officers from several jurisdictions are on scene near Roscoe. The Rockford crime scene, Rockford SWAT team, and some of even said the bomb squad, and several police officers are all working the scene.

This is located near old River Road and Gleason Road, northeast of that location in the subdivision.

As you know the police are encrypted and they have yet to release any information. So all we can confirm right now is a possible dangerous situation going on near Roscoe.Numerous police officers from several jurisdictions including the SWAT team are working the scene.

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Shot in Rockford, Police Investigating


Rockford police released information today on a shooting that happened on Friday.

On Friday, May 31 at approximately 10:30 PM the Rockford Police Department responded to the 400 block of S. Henrietta St. in reference to a weapons violation.

Upon their arrival officers located a vehicle struck by gunfire. While they were investigating a 27-year-old male shooting victim arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was shot in the arm.

Officer learned a large group of people had gathered in a parking lot when an argument occurred. A male suspect then fired several gunshots and then fled the scene on foot.

At approximately 12:30 AM on Saturday the Rockford police scope officers located the suspect later identified as 46-year-old Murphy Doss, In the 500 block of Howard Avenue. He was taken into custody.

The Winnebago County states Attorney’s office reviewed the case and authorize the following charges: Aggravated discharge of a firearm x2, Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, unlawful use of weapons by a gang member, no Foid card.

He was lodged in the Winnebago County jail. The charges against him are merely accusations he is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law

It happened just before 9 pm tonight near Parmele on the East side.

Reports of several gunshots being fired and at least one shooting victim.

It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Woman Takes Out Several Mailboxes In Rockford

“Today at around noon a woman was spotted on her phone driving east on Garrett lane in Rockford just before hopping the curb and taking out a set of mailboxes. She attempted to flee, was flagged by a neighbor because of scraping underneath her vehicle. Pieces are even left behind. She stopped in a driveway where neighbors asked if she was okay.”
