Rockford Scanner™: 2 Different Auto Accidents Near Local Schools

Sources are reporting 2 different accidents, by 2 different local High Schools this morning.

The first was a multiple vehicle accident on N Main near Boylan High School. Possibly up to 5 vehicles were reported to be involved in this accident.

The other accident scene happened by Lincoln Middle School at Charles st and 11th st.  Reports of up to 3 OR 4 vehicles are involved in this accident scene.

We have been told injuries are reported at both accident scenes. We can not confirm the severity of the injuries at this time.

The cause of these accidents, are under investigation.

Cold Case of Natasha Cleary and her 2 young sons

 

Natasha Cleary and her two young sons Marquwon Owens, 12, and Katarion Friar, 2 were brutally murdered in April 2011 at their house on Canterbury Lane.

Officials said they died as a result of gun shot wounds.

After the murders the suspect(s) set the house on fire.

According to the Coroner’s report, “The autopsy did not show any soot in their trachea or lungs…they were all dead before the fire.“

And then later on the suspect tried to use her debit card at the ATM at Northwest Bank, 3106 N. Rockton Road.

UPDATE:  Sources said this was a shooting incident scene. Police confirm a shooting incident but did not provide any details.


Sources are reporting the crime scene van along with several police officers are working a scene near  Kennedy Hill Rd & Montague.

As you know the local police are encrypted. So it is not yet known what happened.

Just before 3pm today, sources were reporting an auto accident with injuries near Rockford/Loves Park.

It happened near the intersection of E Riverside and Perryville.  The accident scene is just south of the intersection.

Injuries were being reported. It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

Sources are reporting a scene near Loves Park

UPDATE: Suspects were wanted in an aggravated hijacking. A couple of suspects are in custody. Sources said it appears the vehicle may have rolled over near the ramp to I-90. Still developing.


Sources are reporting approx. 20 police squad cars are at a scene near I-90 and E Riverside. At the time of writing this we do not yet know what happened.

We been told that there are several officers near I-90 and E State st as well, possibly related to this call.

We have been told this was a possible police chase that ended up into an auto accident. But not confirmed.  (Not related to the one from earlier)

UPDATE: VEHICULAR HIJACKING ARRESTS: On Thursday, December 6, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to a report of an aggravated vehicular hijacking in the area of Lexington Avenue and Preston Street. Upon arrival, officers learned three armed, male suspects approached the 40-year-old female victim while she was stopped at a stop sign. One of the suspects demanded property from the victim, hit her with the gun, and forced her out of the vehicle. The suspects fled in the victim’s white car.

Officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on eastbound U.S. Hwy 20 near 11th Street. The suspects fled at a high rate of speed and officers pursued. The chase ended when the suspects crashed while trying to exit onto East State Street from I-90. The suspects got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. All three suspects were taken into custody. A Rockford Police K9 was used to apprehend one of the suspects, and a loaded firearm was also recovered. 

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges against the suspects. The third suspect, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening. Charges are pending against him following the completion of medical treatment.

Juvenile Male, 16, Rockford: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking, Resisting Police

Soldier Perkins, 19, Rockford: Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking, Resisting Police, Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Fleeing to Elude

Perkins also faces several traffic charges. The juvenile was lodged in the Juvenile Detention Center following treatment of minor injuries at a local hospital. Perkins was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against the suspects are merely accusations. The juvenile and Perkins are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court

UPDATE:

This is what sources are reporting so far.  The police chase was first reported in Machesney Park near N Second. Reports of the vehicle was traveling over 100 MPH. During this time a Department of Homeland Security vehicle was rammed.  Unknown on injuries. The suspect vehicle proceeded to keep fleeing from police. They had a government helicopter in the air and was following the suspect vehicle. A short time later, reports were saying the vehicle crashed near Forest Hills and Landstrom.  Also reports of a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the same location. Unknown on the severity of the injuries. Sources said they were able to catch a suspect at the scene. It is not yet known what the suspect was originally wanted for.  (Possibly drug related according to sources) Please avoid this area, numerous officers are working the scene and are diverting traffic. We will post updates as they become available


The vehicle crashed near Forest Hills and Landstrom.  Police have the alleged suspects in custody. Unknown on injuries.  Sounds like they might have hit a pedestrian near this location as well. Still developing, avoid the area

Several sources reporting numerous police going extremely fast down N Second st towards a scene near N Second and Harlem area.

At this time, it is not yet known what happened due to the police encryption.

All we can tell you is numerous police officers working a scene near this location, and to avoid the area.

Several sources are reporting a serious accident in Boone County. 

Sources are reporting a serious accident in Boone County near Pearl and 20.

Multiple injuries were being reported and at least a couple of ambulances are on scene.  We been told the medical helicopter might have been dispatched to the scene as well. Unknown on the severity of the injuries at this time.

Avoid the area. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The Roscoe Police Department is asking for your help in locating/identifying suspect(s) responsible for residential burglaries and burglary to motor vehicles that occurred in the 10800 and 10900 block of Meadowsweet Lane as well as burglary to motor vehicles that occurred in the 11000 block of Lemon Grass Lane and 400 block of Santolina Drive.
