Sources are reporting the Rockford Fire Department is currently battling a vacant house fire on the East side.

Reports of a vacant house on fire near the area of 3205 Lepay st.

Smoke was visible coming from the residence. RFD laid a booster line to battle the fire and were doing an offensive attack on the fire.

Unknown on injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Just after 5 pm tonight, the Rockford Fire Department were responding to a possible fire at a residence.

It happened in the area of 3235 Balsam Ln

Reports of a heavy electrical burning smell in the basement area and the circuit tripped. Possible fire in the walls.

Rockford Fire Department is en route.

Fire at LKQ about noon in the car crusher.
That is near 601 Harrison ave in Rockford.

Matt M. saw the fire and tried to put it out when it first started. It became to large due to diesel fuel.

Rockford Fire Department showed up with 6 vehicles and extinguished the fire quickly. Thanks to Matt’s quick efforts the fire would have been worse. No injuries reported

Sources reporting they heard a loud explosion noise and saw smoke coming from a residence.

Around 2 pm today the Rockford Fire Department were en route to a possible apartment fire on Logan in Rockford.  1807 Logan st

There is smoke in the basement of an apartment duplex.

They have evacuated.

There are reports of a couple cats that were still inside the building.

The Rockford Fire Department is en route.

Around 6:30 pm the Rockford Fire Department were responding to a house fire near the 3200 block of Conover in Rockford.

That is near Mulford and Pepper.

Smoke has filled the basement of the house.

Several units are en route.

UPDATE. Fire at 409 7th Street is under control and most companies have been released. Fire was in an apartment on the third floor and Multiple Alarms were needed to bring additional personnel to the scene. Fire Investigators continue to work to determine origin and cause.


UPDATE: 400 7th Street. Fire found on 3rd floor and in attic space. Additional engines called to scene. A total of 5 engines and 3 ladders are on scene. – at downtown Rockford


Overnight around 1:40 am the Rockford Fire is on scene at 400 7th Street for a reported structure fire. First arriving unit states there is smoke visible and possibly the fire is on the roof.

UPDATE: One person has been injured. Burn to the hand. Unknown if it is an emergency personnel who was injured, or if it was the resident. Flames are confirmed and RFD laying a booster line to battle the house fire.

Around 10 AM several emergency personnel were responding to a house fire in Rockford.

Initial reports are saying there’s a house fire in the 600 block of Alliance. Smoke and flames are reported coming from the house.

Unknown at the houses occupied at this time.
