Around 3 am this morning several units from the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a duplex that was possibly on fire at an address in the 1400 block of Blaisdell st in Rockford.

A young teen was saying there is a fire in the upper half of the duplex.

Her family is on the first floor.  People are still inside on the 2nd floor.

Fire and smoke are showing from the Bravo side of the structure.

At the time of writing this,  the family in the upstairs was reported to still be inside.

UPDATE: RFD said at 3:10 am, they believe the structure is clear of life. Unknown on injuries.

Around 4 pm today the Rockford Fire Department were on scene of a possible abandoned house fire in Rockford.

It happened near Furman and Blaisdahl in Rockford.

A boarded up house across from the boarded up school, is reported to be on fire.

Sources are reporting a fully engulfed truck in Rockford.

It happened around 1:30 pm today in the area of Kishwaukee and Harrison.

When the RFD arrived on scene, they confirmed a truck was fully engulfed.

Unknown on injuries.

Rockford Fire Department are responding to a possible structure fire on the East side.

It happened just before 2:30 am in the area of Mulford and Guilford.

Reports of a possible structure fire near this location.

A vehicle crashed into a house just North of the intersection, and is now on fire.

Several units are en route.

Sources are reporting a structure fire in Rockford.

Around 1 am the ROckford Fire Department responded to an alarm at 814 Chestnut at Barnes International.

When the RFD arrived on scene they upgraded the call from an alarm, to a structure fire and several more units were responding to assist.

Heavy smoke on the Bravo Charlie sides.

Just before 11:30 PM several emergency personnel were responding to a trailer on fire in Rockford.

It happened in the area of Prairie Road and Linda.
That is in the area of South Main and Springfield.

Sources are reporting the Rockford Fire Department is working a scene on the West side.

It happened this afternoon at an apartment on Trilling.
That is just West of the Riverside bridge.

Reports of a water pipe burst and caused a lot of damage to the apartment building.

Residents were going to be evacuated and the City Human Services Department was going to assist.

UPDATE: No injuries. The house was built by by the Habitat for Humanity organization. Red Cross is assisting the family.


Just before 3 PM sources were reporting a house fire in Rockford.

A house is on fire in the 2900 block of Arcadia Terrace.

Rockford fire department were forcing entry because it is not yet known if the house is occupied or not.

Smoke was showing upon arrival and they were laying a booster line to battle the fire.

Unknown injuries at the time of writing this.

Brandi A. “I don’t think anyone is in there currently. I beat on that door and windows as hard as I could to see if someone was home. There was flames coming from the roof.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rockford Scanner™: Woman Needs Local Fire Departments Help Escaping The Winnebago County Courthouse, Emergency Personnel En Route

Around 7:30 pm tonight, a person was stuck inside the courthouse and needed the fire departments help getting out of the courthouse.

It happened at the Winnebago County Courthouse at 400 W State in Rockford.

An employee of the courthouse has been trying to get out of the courthouse for the last hour, and says she is stuck inside and needs the fire departments help getting out.

Update: Unknown how she was stuck inside. But the Rockford Fire Department was able to safely rescue the woman and she is now free.

Around 6:40 pm tonight several fire departments were responding to a fully engulfed structure fire at 404 Springfield at the township building.

MABAS box 11 to the 6th level.

Many agencies are responding.

Reports of a fully engulfed structure.

UPDATE: This is fully engulfed. Rockford Township Highway Department at 404 N Springfield. .Numerous emergency personnel from area fire departments are en route to assist.  Staging area is on Springfield. Emergency personnel were reporting explosions. No injuries that we know of yet.
