Sources have sent us more turkey terrorism information and photos.

As you may recall, we did a brief story on the turkey terrorism in Loves Park. You can find that info at CLICK HERE

Several sources at the hospital told us earlier today some wild turkeys were terrorizing the parked vehicles in the parking lot of Rockford Memorial Hospital on Rockton ave. (Mercy Health)

As you know, turkeys are pretty much harmless. But they have been pretty bold in the last few months. Chasing vehicles, and as you can see chilling on top of them too.

We have not heard anyone being injured by turkeys. Only citizens being terrorized by them.   The one near Forest Hills rd (Tom The Turkey) chases moving vehicles.

The ones at Rockford Memorial Hospital appear to only stake claim to parked vehicles. Which it appears they have good tastes in jeeps too.

On a more serious note, if you do see some turkeys.
Please do not hurt them. They are pretty much harmless.

Scanner Audio Of The Rockford Fire Department During The Major Flooding in Rockford, IL June 18th 2018

I want to first begin this with thanking the first responders.  Also the citizens who also risked their lives to save others that were trapped in the flooded waters in Winnebago County.

As you know some storms rolled through the area of Winnebago County on Monday June 18th 2018.  The area received up to 5 inches of rainfall in some areas. Most ares received around 2.5 inches in a short amount of time.

This caused the NWS to issue a Flash Flood Warning for Winnebago County

Mercy Health Hospital had approx. 5 feet of water in the lowest level. And their phones went down. They went of full diversion. Unknown on injuries. Officials have confirmed this.

Numerous water rescues were performed by emergency personnel and citizens.

Several vehicles were under water and people stranded in the flooded waters, all over the city.

Neighborhoods were under water near Charles st.

Citizens made a daring rescue to save the life of a gentleman, in the Schnucks on Charles st.

Reports of a vehicle that rolled over and possibly had juveniles in it, near the same location.
Unknown if it was the same vehicle, or two separate water rescue incidents. Unknown on injuries.

We have heard foundations of some residences have collapsed, near Welty ave.

You can hear the RFD dispatcher doing an amazing job at keeping their cool, while being overwhelmed with numerous calls. They did a professional job at keeping their cool and dispatched units where they were needed.

Police had officers on foot going house to house and making sure everyone was OK.

Rockford Fire Department had the banana boat dispatched. Also rescue divers. Several investigators.

Emergency personnel did an amazing job at rescuing those people trapped in the flooded waters.

UPDATE: Part of Mercyhealth Hospital-Rockton Avenue has received flooding due to heavy rain. Maintaining the safety of patients and partners is a top priority. No patient occupied areas were flooded, patients were not in any danger and the hospital is not evacuating.

The hospital has put together a team that is managing the situation. The hospital regularly drills for this type of situation and is following the protocols developed as a result of those drills.

Several parts of the hospital were affected by water including the main pharmacy. Pharmacy is currently operating out of a second pharmacy location and is fully functional. Crews are working to restore the other areas as quickly as possible.

The water has affected communications including phone and email. The hospital is using a backup system for internal communication designed for situations like this.
