Around 3 am this morning a broadcast came over the un-encrypted airwaves of the Illinois State police in reference to an armed robbery in Rockford.
It happened on Ridge ave in Rockford around 2 am.
The suspects fled in a Dark Blue Chevy Lumina 2 door.
#1 Male black around 6’2, wearing a black jacket or hooded sweatshirt. Armed with a gun.
#2 Male black, 5’6 wearing a White jumpsuit and armed with a gun
Last seen on Auburn st headed westbound
Around 8:05 pm today the Winnebago County police were assisting Rockford Police on an in progress call on Lawndale. A male wearing a dark hoody broke into a residence. The man was using a cell phone for a light. He stole a TV and took off on foot. police are setting up a perimeter. Still developing

Around 10:42 am this morning a broadcast came over the un-encrypted airwaves on the Winnebago County Police, in reference to a hit and run accident that happened near Auburn and Ridge. Injuries were reported at the accident scene.
- The suspects are described as the following:
A black male, tall, 20 years old, armed with a shotgun. Last seen on Auburn st.
- The second suspect is a heavy set black male, 20 years old, wearing a camo hat and black shirt and sweat pants. Armed with a handgun. Last seen on Auburn.
- The third suspect is a black male wearing a black and red sweat suit
UPDATE: Around 3 am this morning, they requested medical to the scene for at least one victim. This is a valid house fire. The RFD has been on scene for 2 hours so far. The cause of the fire is under investigation
Around 1 am the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched to the area of the 1100 block of Ridge ave. Scanner traffic is minimal, only saying there is a possible house on fire near this location. Several units were dispatched to the scene. No other information at this time
On Saturday October 22, 2016 at around 6:50 pm officers responded to the area of Ridge Ave. and Ashland Ave. in reference to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival officers located several spent shell casings in the roadway.
A witnesses in the area told police he saw a black sports utility vehicle (SUV), possibly a Jeep Cherokee, and another silver colored vehicle travelling northbound in the 1100 block of Ridge Ave. and that someone inside the black SUV was shooting at the silver vehicle.
While officers were at the Ridge Ave. and Ashland Ave. scene other officers responded to a traffic crash at Auburn St. and Ridge Ave. and determined one of the vehicles involved in the crash was the silver vehicle being shot at on Ridge Ave. Officers found several bullet holes in the silver vehicle. The other vehicle involved in the collision was a commercial tow-truck. Officers determined the tow-truck was not involved in the shots fired incident.
The silver vehicle was occupied by the driver, a 28 year old Rockford man and one (1) passenger, a 25 year old Rockford woman. Neither had been struck by gunfire. The driver was not injured but the passenger sustained minor injuries from the crash. Rockford Fire Department Paramedics transported her to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the tow-truck, a 19 year old Rockford man, was not injured.
The driver and passenger of the silver vehicle told police they were driving northbound on Ridge Ave. when they heard gunshots and immediately realized they were being shot at by someone in the vehicle behind them. While trying to get away they collided with the tow-truck.
The driver and passenger of the silver vehicle told police they did not know who the suspect/shooter was nor did they have any idea why they were shooting at them.
No arrests at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
Around 6:54 pm tonight the RFD were dispatched to the area of Auburn and Ridge. Scanner traffic is saying there is a drive by shooting near this location. Also an auto accident. It is not yet known if the 2 incidents are related. Injuries were reported at the accident scene. Unknown on injuries from the drive by shooting. Still developing.

Steve M. ” I am the victim of the hit and run incident yesterday at Ridge and Yonge. Somebody clobbered me while I was riding my motorcycle. I’m in the hospital and hurt pretty bad. It was a 2000-2005 dark tan Buick Century. Would have damage to the front driver side quarter panel. Perhaps more. Would appreciate any help finding them. Thanks!”
Around 3:50 pm today the RFD were dispatched to the area of Ridge and Younge. Scanner traffic is saying there is an auto accident near this intersection. Injuries were being reported at the time of dispatch. No other information is available
