Rockford Scanner™: Drug Bust in South Beloit, 1 Arrested




 

On June 14, 2019 at approximately 2:00pm, South Beloit Police Officers conducted a search warrant at 821 Marvin St. A search of the residence revealed approximately 6 pounds of suspected cannabis and 3.8 grams of suspected cocaine.

This case was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office whom authorized the following charges:

Arrested: 20 year old Jalen K. Olander of South Beloit, IL

Charge: Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance within 500 feet of a Park (Class X Felony)

Charge: Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cannabis (Class 1 Felony)

Charge: Obstructing Justice (Class 4 Felony)

Charge: Contributing to the Delinquency or Criminal Delinquency of a Minor (Class A Misdemeanor)

Charge: Endangering the Life or Health of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor)

Jalen was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.

The charges against him are accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Victim beaten during a robbery at a Rockford business.

On Sunday, June 16 just before 8 PM Rockford Police Department responded to the Kentucky fried chicken at 3035 11th St. in reference to a robbery that just happened.

An 18-year-old male victim was beaten by two suspects. The suspects then proceeded to rob the victim of cash and other belongings. The suspects then fled on foot. The victim sustained injuries from the robbery.

Suspects are described as two black males both around 17 years old. One of them is approximately 6 foot one and weighing about 190 pounds, Last seen wearing a red hoodie and black pants.The other had on glasses and is approximately 6 foot two and weighing about 140 pounds, Last seen wearing a black Nike jacket and black pants.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Who Steals A Snowblower In June? Rockford Thieves Do & Get Arrested




On Sunday, June 16 at approximately 7:30 AM the Rockford Police Department responded to the 2100 block of South Alpine in reference to a burglary of a garage.

Officers learned a male suspect entered the garage and left with a snowblower. While searching the area officers located the male suspect walking with a female in the 2500 block of South Alpine with the snowblower. Both were taken into custody. Officers also recovered drug paraphernalia from the females purse.

Zachariah Schneider who is 26 years old from Rockford was arrested for burglary.

Dawn H. 39 of Rockford was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives are investigating the possibility of Snyder’s involvement in other burglaries. Other charges are possibly pending via the investigation. Both are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

UPDATE: Child stuck in a culvert

Several sources are reporting numerous emergency personnel working a scene near Roscoe. 

Numerous emergency personnel from several jurisdictions have the area blocked off near Bridge and 251 (Near Riverside Park/Rock River)

Source said:  It was a baby skunk rescue gone wrong. The child is fine and the skunks that recently lost their mom were relocated away from the road. Everyone is safe.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Man Arrested For OWI, Allegedly Under The influence Of Drugs




 

On 6-16-19 at 11:35 PM Janesville Police were sent to the Kwik Trip at 3359 Milton Av for a down subject.

Upon arrival officers had contact with a male subject in a vehicle in the parking lot. The suspect appeared to be impaired by drugs upon initial observation.

The suspect was put through standard field sobriety tests which confirmed impairment. The driver was arrested for OWI and submitted to an evidentiary blood test with results pending.

A department of transportation records check showed 3 prior convictions for OWI. Officers located drug evidence in plain view inside the vehicle. The suspect is being held at the Rock County Jail until his initial court appearance.

Arrested: Thompson, Aaron T. age 32 of Janesville
Charges: OWI 4th offense
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Rockford Scanner™: Shots Fired in Janesville, Suspect Arrested




 

On 06-16-19 at 11:07 p.m. officers from the Janesville Police Department investigated a shots fired incident in the area of Cherry St. and Rockport Rd.

Information received during the investigation led officers to believe the shooting had occurred at 603 Rockport Rd. During the investigation, Jason Sun, was arrested for a probation violation and held at the Rock County Jail.

At 2:23 a.m. a search warrant was executed at 603 Rockport Rd. and a handgun was recovered. There were no reported injuries during this incident. The investigation into this incident will continue.

Rockford Scanner™: Cool Temps, Possible Storms Tuesday




 

 

Clouds will be the rule through this morning and likely much of the afternoon. Combined with northeast winds this will keep temperatures near 10 degrees below normal. More sun is expected on Tuesday with slightly warmer temperatures.

A storm system will approach late Tuesday night and move over the area Wednesday afternoon into the night. This will bring rain, some which looks to be heavy with embedded thunderstorms. This heavier axis is slightly more favored along and south of I-88 at this time.
