Alleged Suspect: 18-year-old Carlos Hardt
He is charged with aggravated battery and has no bond. His next court date is today at 1:30 pm

On Monday 10/22/2018 at 9:18 pm, Rockford Police responded to 935 N. Main St #404 in reference to an aggravated battery involving a knife. It was learned that the tenant was inside of his apartment with a male acquaintance. An argument ensued and a knife was involved. The tenant was transported to a local hospital. The male acquaintance was located and interviewed. This is an on-going investigation.
Sources reported hearing multiple gunshots on the west side.
During the same time shots were fired, there was a carjacking at Green st and Johnston ave.
Shots were fired in the same general area of the carjacking.
Reports of people in two different vehicles shooting at each other.
Unknown if these incidents are related.
Police were chasing a vehicle on the west side a short time later, that ended near Winnebago and Garfield.
Numerous police officers were on scene. RPD, ISP, WCSO. They had a large perimeter setup in the area. Unknown what the suspects look like. At least one suspect was at large. They had a police K-9 assist in tracking the suspect, but was unsuccessful.
RPD did confirm a police chase and shots fired and the carjacking, but would not say if all these incidents were all related.
The vehicle ended up near the dead end of Garfield, just west of Winnebago in the eastbound lanes just before the stop sign.
Sources were reporting several officers out on foot searching the area of Liberty and Belden for shell casings, unknown if this is related to these incidents.

Sources were reporting a victim was shot during a robbery in Rockford.
A male approx 29 years old was robbed and shot in Rockford.
It happened around 11:30 pm tonight in the area of the 1400 block of Arthur ave.
Sources were reporting the suspect is a black male in a dark colored car.

There was suspects in a Gold vehicle in the same area and same time, that committed a couple of hit & run accidents.
On Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:44 pm, Officers of the Rockford Police Department responded to 1400 Arthur Ave in reference to a shooting victim. Preliminary investigations indicate the 29 year old victim was struck by a single round of gunfire. The victim sustained a single gunshot to his thigh. The injury was reported to be non life threatening.
A tan colored sedan was reported to have been seen leaving the area after the shooting.

Around 5:10 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries and extrication is being requested.
It happened in the area of Spring Creek and Highcrest.
There is an auto accident near this intersection.
Extrication is being requested to cut someone out of the vehicle.
Injuries were reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries.
The vehicle appeared to have hit a large utility box. It was laying on the ground and had damage.
Comed says there are customers without power in the area. Unknown on the restore time frame.
Avoid the area or expect delays.
Tim: “I just witnessed a major car accident on Highcrest Rd. A car came flying down the hill near Spring Creek and Highcrest and instead of making the curve down the hill the car went straight, up over the curb and into the trees.”
On 8/6/18 at around 8:00 P.M. Rockford Police responded to the 2600 block of Canterbury Ln. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a 29 year old male whom had been shot one time. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
There is no suspect information available at this time.

I want to first begin this with thanking the first responders. Also the citizens who also risked their lives to save others that were trapped in the flooded waters in Winnebago County.
As you know some storms rolled through the area of Winnebago County on Monday June 18th 2018. The area received up to 5 inches of rainfall in some areas. Most ares received around 2.5 inches in a short amount of time.
This caused the NWS to issue a Flash Flood Warning for Winnebago County
Mercy Health Hospital had approx. 5 feet of water in the lowest level. And their phones went down. They went of full diversion. Unknown on injuries. Officials have confirmed this.
Numerous water rescues were performed by emergency personnel and citizens.
Several vehicles were under water and people stranded in the flooded waters, all over the city.
Neighborhoods were under water near Charles st.
Citizens made a daring rescue to save the life of a gentleman, in the Schnucks on Charles st.
Reports of a vehicle that rolled over and possibly had juveniles in it, near the same location.
Unknown if it was the same vehicle, or two separate water rescue incidents. Unknown on injuries.
We have heard foundations of some residences have collapsed, near Welty ave.
You can hear the RFD dispatcher doing an amazing job at keeping their cool, while being overwhelmed with numerous calls. They did a professional job at keeping their cool and dispatched units where they were needed.
Police had officers on foot going house to house and making sure everyone was OK.
Rockford Fire Department had the banana boat dispatched. Also rescue divers. Several investigators.
Emergency personnel did an amazing job at rescuing those people trapped in the flooded waters.

isolated rainfall amounts of an inch or two are possible across
portions of the warned area overnight.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
UPDATE: Part of Mercyhealth Hospital-Rockton Avenue has received flooding due to heavy rain. Maintaining the safety of patients and partners is a top priority. No patient occupied areas were flooded, patients were not in any danger and the hospital is not evacuating.
The hospital has put together a team that is managing the situation. The hospital regularly drills for this type of situation and is following the protocols developed as a result of those drills.
Several parts of the hospital were affected by water including the main pharmacy. Pharmacy is currently operating out of a second pharmacy location and is fully functional. Crews are working to restore the other areas as quickly as possible.
The water has affected communications including phone and email. The hospital is using a backup system for internal communication designed for situations like this.
Patient safety has guided every decision and continues to be the primary focus.
Mercy Hospital is trying to make Rockford Scanner take down the video.
The Mercy Hospital has went on full diversion. They are not taking any new patients.
We been told by sources they lost the phone lines and some communications.
Some of the debris that was in the flooded waters, was needles. They told staff to treat all needles as dirty needles.
No injuries have been reported.
Several sources were reporting Mercy Hospital (Rockford Memorial Hospital) on Rockton in Rockford is flooding.
FB user Fay Fajutnao Hacker, did a video from inside the hospital and showed the flooding waters on the ground floor at the hospital.

There are reports of an auto accident with injuries. It happened in the area of Mulford and Newburg.
A vehicle has rolled over near this intersection. Injuries were being reported.
Possible extrication is needed. Several emergency personnel are en route to this rollover accident scene.
