Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Acts Like A Local Police Officer, Then Robs A Woman

Sources are reporting a suspect acted like a local police officer,then robbed a woman.  It happened in the 500 block of N Winnebago around 11:30 pm

A suspect acted like he was a Freeport police officer and rang the doorbell of a residence in the 500 block of N Winnebago. A woman approx. 60 years old answered the door.

The suspect pointed a flashlight in her face and held a gun to her.  The suspect who was acting like a police officer and 2 other suspects with him, robbed her.

Suspect is a black male, 5’10 ,wearing a ski mask and a black jacket or black hooded sweatshirt. No description on the other 2 suspects.

It happened around 8:15 pm tonight near E State and 2nd.

A male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near this location.

Injuries were being reported. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Unknown if the vehicle stayed on scene or fled.

Reports of a garbage truck that is owned by Advanced Disposal, is stuck under the viaduct at Broadway and 15th. 

It is unknown on injuries.

Unknown how the garbage truck become stuck.

Rockford Scanner™: House Fire in Rockford, Dog Trapped Inside


Around 1:30 pm today several sources were reporting a house fire in the 600 block of Lincoln. 

There are flames and smoke showing.

A dog is trapped on the inside of the house on the A side.

Update: Rockford Fire Department said the Structure Fire is at  606 Lincoln Avenue. Fire is now under control. 4 dogs were rescued.



Rockford Scanner™: Serious Accident in Rockford, Avoid The Area

UPDATE: Sources said  the vehicle allegedly hit another vehicle in the Mcdonalds parking lot, then fled the scene. While fleeing they crashed into a pole and the person was ejected from the vehicle. The person appeared to be a white female approx her mid 30’s was laying in the roadway approx. 15 feet from the vehicle not moving.  And another person inside the vehicle  (a male) was thrown into the backseat of the vehicle and was screaming for help.  Video by a source LayLow Fuentes. Sources are reporting a very serious accident in Rockford. It happened around 5 am near S Main and 15th ave. 

Reports of a serious accident near this location.  Injuries were being reported. Possible life threatening injuries.

RPD has told the citizens to avoid the area for awhile.  They have the area blocked off while investigating.

Sources are reporting a scene in the 1000 block of Kishwaukee. It happened around 2 am.  

Sources said this was a home invasion call.

RPD said in their call log as an Other Disorderly Conduct
(Which in the past the police have labeled violent crimes under this code in their call logs in the past. )

RPD has not released any information on this.

Sources are reporting a a city bus has been involved in an accident and several injuries were being reported.

It happened around 2:30 pm near Rockton and Whitman.

Reports of multiple injuries. At least 3 victims are reporting injuries.  It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries at this time. This is still developing.



Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Crashes After Shooting A Man And Carjacking His Vehicle

Sources are reporting a scene on Douglas in Rockford. 

Sources said it is related to the shooting and carjacking on Rockton ave.

Sources said police chased the suspect until it crashed on Douglas. It crashed into 2 parked vehicles.  The suspects got away from police. They are currently roaming the streets of Rockford still.

RPD has not provided any suspect information.
