Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Sentenced to 14 Years, For A Rockford Home Invasion


Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that Zedvie L. Santos (DOB: 2/22/1966) was sentenced to 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge Randy Wilt. The defendant will also be on mandatory supervised release for three years after she is released from prison.

Santos pled guilty to Home Invasion, then the court found her guilty but mentally ill subsequent to her guilty plea.

On March 11th, 2018, Rockford Police Officers responded to a Rockford hospital in reference to a battery victim. Upon arrival, Officers met with an adult male, who reported he was inside his apartment in the 400 block of Court Street, when someone knocked on his door.

The victim opened the door and an unknown female pushed her way inside his residence. The female began battering the male and demanded all his money. Rockford Police Detectives conducted a follow up investigation and Zedvie Santos was developed as the suspect.

The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office for charges. Santos was subsequently indicted by a grand jury on Home Invasion charges.

Home Invasion is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release. Santos was sentenced to 14 years in the Department of Corrections which will be served at 50%.



Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Incident in Downtown Rockford

Several sources are reporting a shooting incident in downtown Rockford.

It happened near 4th and Market overnight, at or near the Rue Marche.

Approx. 10 gunshots were heard from several sources.

I have been told by a few sources there was a shooting victim. But the RPD has not confirmed this. They have not even confirmed the shooting incident.

Sources said that the RPD had put up the crime scene tape and had collected several shell casings, prior to my arrival on scene to work this story.

No suspect information, but sources said a vehicle was heard fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed and squealing tires as it fled.  So it is safe to assume the alleged suspect(s) are still on the loose in the streets of Rockford.


Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Arrested For Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking in Rockford



On Sunday, March 17, 2019 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Winnebago County Deputies were dispatched to the Mobil gas station located at 4962 20th Street in Rockford for a report of an Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking.

The victim reported that he was just robbed in the parking lot of the Mobil by one male suspect who was armed with a handgun. The victim’s vehicle was taken by the suspect and the suspect fled the scene. The stolen vehicle was recovered later in the day by Winnebago County Deputies.

This investigation was taken over by the Winnebago County Detective Bureau. As a result of the investigation a suspect was identified. This investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued for:

~Javari L. Conley 12/26/1994 of Rockford
-Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking

Javari Conley is currently in custody at the Winnebago County Jail. On May 13, 2019 Javari Conley was charged with the murder of Jaime Gonzalez which occurred on March 7, 2019 at 4800 Linden Road.

The charges against Javari Conley are merely accusations and they are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Burglarizes A Rockford Church, RPD Searching For The Suspect

KNOW HIM? On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Washington Park Christian Church (801 Concord Avenue) in reference to a possible burglary. Upon arrival, officers saw damage to the front door where the suspect gained entry. Inside the church, officers located several electronic items strewn around, damage to instruments and church furniture.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department recovered surveillance video of the incident involving a black male suspect, medium build, between 20-25 years old. Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Man Arrested For Kidnapping & Sexual Assault

Forensic Evidence Leads to Sex Assault Arrest

Rockford, Ill. On Monday, July 25, 2011, patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to an apartment in the 300 block of North Church Street in reference to a sexual assault investigation.

When they arrived, officers learned that an adult female victim had been sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance whom she knew only by a nickname.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 20’s 5’7″ tall with a medium build. At the time of the incident, detectives conducted a follow-up investigation, but were never able to identify the suspect.

In April 2018, a possible suspect was identified following the result of a forensic evidence recovered during the investigation. Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit followed up on the lead and were able to identify the suspect as Antoine Hill.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the results of the investigation and authorized charges against Hill. Hill was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Hill was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a $500,000 bond. The charges against Hill are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.


Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle pinned Between A Pole & A Semi in Rockford

Sources are reporting an accident on the East side.

It happened around 5:15 pm today in the area of 11th st and 18th ave.

A semi and a vehicle are involved in the accident. The vehicle is pinned between the semi and a pole. The occupants are not able to get out of the vehicle. Extrication was needed to get them out. No injuries were being reported at the time of the accident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.


Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Incident in Rockford, Police Investigating

Sources are reporting a shooting incident in Rockford.

It happened around 2 pm today near Halsted and Ruth.

Reports of two vehicles chasing each other and numerous gunshots being fired.  They were last seen on Deborah near Ruth.

We been told at least one person has been shot, but officials have yet to release information on this incident and confirm it.


Rockford Scanner™: Several Officers Working A Scene Near Sinnissippi Park

Sources are reporting a scene on N Second st.

It happened around 10 PM tonight on N Second st in the southbound lanes near Auburn/Spring Creek ramp.

Several cops are on scene, at least 5 officers.

It is not yet clear what happened.  Sources said it appears to be a traffic stop but several officers are searching the vehicle.

No other information is available.


Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Crashes Into Plan B Tires in Machesney Park

Sources are reporting an accident in Machesney park.

It happened this evening near 6821 N 2nd St, Machesney Park, IL at Plan B Tires.

Unknown on injuries.

Sources said the occupant tried to run, but police were able to detain the person.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
