Loves Park Fire Department Dispatched To A House Fire

Around 2:10 pm today the LPFD were dispatched to the 200 block of Merrill ave in Loves Park.
Scanner traffic is saying there is heavy black smoke coming from the chimney area. No flames have been seen at the time of dispatch.
Chief Foley flushed a nearby hydrant. Several units en route.

The house is full of smoke
Chief Foley said there is gun powder and ammunition inside the residence.
Police are blocking off traffic in the area

House Fire Near Belvidere, MABAS Toned Out

Around 10:30 am this morning emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of the 600 block of E. Pleasant in Belvidere for a house fire. They are reporting smoke and flames. A MABAS (Mutual Aid) was toned out and several area fire departments were responding to assist. Unknown on injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rockford Fire Department Battling A House Fire

Around 11 pm tonight the RFD were dispatched for a smoke investigation. The caller said there was smoke in the area. So the RFD were en route to investigate.

While investigating, they were called over to 2906 Buckingham. There was heavy black smoke coming from the front of the residence.

Around 9:35 pm tonight several emergency personnel were dispatched to an address on Wild Deer Trail near Roscoe. Scanner traffic is saying there is a house fire near this location. Everyone is reported to be out of the residence. Emergency personnel are en route

Log From Fireplace Causes House Fire in Winnebago

Around 5:37 am this morning several emergency personnel were dispatched to the 12300 block of Meadow Drive. Scanner traffic is saying there is a residential fire. The caller said she was laying on a blanket in the living room, when a log inside the fireplace rolled out and caught the blanket on fire and now it is quickly spreading through the residence. Everyone is reported to be out of the house. Several emergency personnel are en route

Rockford Fire Department Battling 4th Structure Fire

Around 5:07 am this morning the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Ashland and Furman in reference to another house fire. Flames and smoke are showing. This is the 4th house fire the Rockford Fire Department has battled in the last few hours. It is not yet known if this house is occupied or vacant.

Two Structure Fires In Rockford in Same Area. Serial Arsonist On Loose?

Around 3:06 am this morning the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Kilburn and Maple. Initial reports are saying there are two structures on fire near this location. Unknown on injuries.  They confirmed two structures are on fire.

At 3:32 am they cleared the west house on the 2nd floor of life. At 3:28 am they cleared the west house of life.

They are moving fire trucks from other stations to cover the area.

The Salvation Army was dispatched. Sounds like at least one of the houses involved was occupied.

BREAKING: ANOTHER FIRE at 919 Acorn, there is another house fire. This was believed to be arson, someone lit the porch on fire. But was extinguished, but is flaring back up again.

Note: Sounds like there is a serial arsonist on the loose in the Rockford area. Many structures have been set ablaze recently.

There have been MANY arsons in the Rockford area over the last year or so with vacant houses. They will only say the fires are being investigated and can not rule out a serial arsonist.

Rockford fire department battling two house fires on Rockford Eastside

Just before 4:30 AM Rockford Scanner fan Brandon Decampa contacted us and said there are multiple house fires off of Charles Street. The two fires are reported to be in the 1600 block and the 2000 block of Charles Street. At the time of writing this it was not yet known on injuries or the cause of the fires. He said an officer on scene said it was possibly arson. Several units are on scene and are battling the fires. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Still developing

Traffic in the area is blocked off, on Charles between 11th st and 18th st. So please avoid the area

Rockford Fire Department En Route To A House Fire

On Saturday, September 17, 2016 officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to 2815 Garfield Avenue to assist the Rockford Fire Department with a suspicious fire. It was originally believed that there were three victims who were deceased inside the residence however it was later learned that there was a total of four victims, a mother and three children. The victims were later identified as 27-year-old Keandra Austin, 9-year-old V’Angelo Totty, 6-year-old Keeryn Austin, and 6-month-old Aliya Beasley-Austin.
Based on the preliminary autopsy results it appears the victims died as a result of foul play. As a result of these findings, this incident is now being treated as an active homicide investigation. Rockford Police Department detectives and Rockford Fire Department arson investigators are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
“Our detectives will continue to investigate this tragic event and implore anyone with information to call us. We will continue to work around the clock to apprehend the individuals responsible for this heinous crime,” said Rockford Police Chief Dan O’Shea.

UPDATE: Four people have passed away in this fire

The victims are reported to be three children and one adult.


Around 5:06 am this morning the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched to the 2800 block of Garfield for reports of a fully engulfed house fire. At the time of dispatch, it was not known if the occupants of the residence have evacuated or not. Several units are en route to the scene. Still developing.
