Upon arrival officers met with a woman who reported a female just shot at her. The victim said the suspect went into a house in the area after the shooting. Starting around 6 am, an RS Fan contacted us about a possible shooting and now standoff at Rockton Ave and Bruce St.

The road Rockton Ave is closed from Bruce to Whitman.

It is reported that a female in a house nearby shot a male.  We can not confirm this though, this is only speculation at this time.

As of 9:39 am, the standoff/negotiations were still ongoing.

Several Rockford Police and the SWAT team are on the scene.

This is still developing, so please check back for further details.

Also, please avoid the area!
