Rockford Scanner™: Man Stabbed In The Chest In Rockford, Still Developing



 

Sources reporting a serious stabbing incident early this morning in Rockford.

A man approx.  45 years old was stabbed in the chest.

It happened in the area of Rockton and Acorn.
Original reports said 709 Horsman, but the victim was found at Rockton and Acorn.

The victim was stabbed at least one time in the chest and they were applying pressure to the stab wound. The injuries are believed to be life threatening, but not confirmed. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

Due to the encryption, no suspect information.

On Thursday August 30, 2018 at 8:29 p.m. Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to a local hospital reference a shooting victim.  The victim suffered from a non life threatening gunshot injury.  The victim indicated he was in the 600 block of St. Louis Ave. when he was struck by the gunfire.

Several sources are reporting the Rockford Memorial Hospital/Mercy Health Hospital on N Rockton ave, is currently on lockdown.

Several officers are at the emergency room area.

We been told that there is at least one shooting victim. It is not yet clear if the shooting happened at the ER, or if the victim was brought to the ER from a different location.

I want to first begin this with thanking the first responders.  Also the citizens who also risked their lives to save others that were trapped in the flooded waters in Winnebago County.

As you know some storms rolled through the area of Winnebago County on Monday June 18th 2018.  The area received up to 5 inches of rainfall in some areas. Most ares received around 2.5 inches in a short amount of time. 

This caused the NWS to issue a Flash Flood Warning for Winnebago County

Mercy Health Hospital had approx. 5 feet of water in the lowest level. And their phones went down. They went of full diversion. Unknown on injuries. Officials have confirmed this. 

Numerous water rescues were performed by emergency personnel and citizens.

Several vehicles were under water and people stranded in the flooded waters, all over the city.

Neighborhoods were under water near Charles st.

Citizens made a daring rescue to save the life of a gentleman, in the Schnucks on Charles st.

Reports of a vehicle that rolled over and possibly had juveniles in it, near the same location.
Unknown if it was the same vehicle, or two separate water rescue incidents. Unknown on injuries.

We have heard foundations of some residences have collapsed, near Welty ave.

You can hear the RFD dispatcher doing an amazing job at keeping their cool, while being overwhelmed with numerous calls. They did a professional job at keeping their cool and dispatched units where they were needed.

 Police had officers on foot going house to house and making sure everyone was OK.

Rockford Fire Department had the banana boat dispatched. Also rescue divers. Several investigators.

Emergency personnel did an amazing job at rescuing those people trapped in the flooded waters.




 

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
Northern Ogle County in north central Illinois…
Winnebago County in north central Illinois…
Boone County in north central Illinois…

* Until noon CDT Tuesday

* At 1158 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms continuing
to produce rainfall across portions of the area. Rainfall amounts
of 3 to 5 inches have fallen across the area this evening. Runoff
from this activity will continue to result in flooding, especially
in and around the Rockford area through the night. Additional
isolated rainfall amounts of an inch or two are possible across
portions of the warned area overnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Rockford, Belvidere, Loves Park, Machesney Park, South Beloit,
Rockton, Rockford Airport, Roscoe, Poplar Grove, Byron, Cherry
Valley, Winnebago, Pecatonica, Forreston, Durand, Capron, Stillman
Valley, Timberlane, Caledonia and Lake Summerset.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

 



Rockford Scanner™: Victim Shot In The Chest in Rockford, Police Are Investigating





Aggravated Battery With a Firearm

At approximately 11:48 PM Rockford Police Officers responded to a local hospital in reference to a walk in shooting victim.  Upon arrival Officers learned the shooting occurred in the 1300 block of  E. State Street.  The victim was in stable condition.  No suspect information at this time.  Anyone with information in regards to this incident is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department.


 Update: It appears the shooting scene happened across the street from the Swedish American Hospital ER,
at the Mobil Gas Station at E State and Summit. 

Sources are reporting a shooting victim at a local emergency room. 

Sources said a male victim was shot at least one time in the chest area and was losing a lot of blood. The source said it appeared the injuries were life threatening, but not confirmed.  

No suspect information at this time.

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Fire Department En Route for a Possible fire at a local hospital





 

Around 3:30 am this morning the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a fire alarm at St Anthony Hospital. When they arrived on scene there was smoke near the lab area. Sprinkler heads were going off. Sounds like it may have started with an air conditioning unit. Still developing.
