Rockford Scanner™: Fire At A Local High Rise Building


Sources are reporting a fire at a local high rise building. 

It happened last night around 8:30 pm at the Skyrise Apartments on N Main.

There was a fire inside one of the apartments on the 11th floor of the building.

Sounds like it was contained very quickly. No injuries were being reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Update: Structure fire at 630 East State Street. One person is being treated and transported with injuries due to smoke inhalation. Sources told us a man fell asleep smoking and lit the couch on fire inside the apartment. (See video below)

Just before 8 pm tonight the Rockford Fire Department were responding to an apartment fire in a downtown high-rise.

Reports of smoke coming from an apartment on the 9th floor, of the Faust Landmark on E State in downtown Rockford.

The apartment below the occupant is trapped and water is flowing into that apartment. (Possibly from the sprinkler system)

Three ambulances have been dispatched to the scene

Just before 1:30 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to a possible high rise fire. 

505 N Main at N Main Manor. 

There is a possible high rise fire. 

Smoke is visible on the 12th floor. 

Several units are en route.
