Rockford Scanner™: Man Falls 3 Stories From A Roof in Roscoe, Medical Helicopter Dispatched

Sources are reporting a man has fallen at least 3 stories from a roof this morning in Roscoe while trying to install an exhaust fan on a roof.

Source said: “Male in his 30’s fell approximately 35 feet from the roof while installing an exhaust fan on the roof at American Aluminum in Roscoe at 8:30 this morning.

Fire Marshall’s were there for an inspection when it happened. He did not have a safety harness on. When paramedics came, he had an approximate 4′ pool of blood around his head. He’s in bad shape!

A medical helicopter went on standby and was en route to the scene, when they decided to cancel the helicopter and transport via an ambulance, because they needed to rush him to the emergency room because of the severity of the injuries.”


Rockford Scanner™: 2 Military Chinook Helicopters Land At The Local National Guard Armory

Several sources are reporting 2 military Chinook helicopters were flying in the area this morning.

There were 2 military Chinook helicopters that were flying in the area.

At least one of them landed at the National Guard Armory in Machesney Park.

It is unknown why they were in the area.

The Chinook helicopters are used for mainly transporting troops and equipment. Chinook helicopter transports troops, artillery, supplies and equipment to the battlefield. Other applications include medical evacuation, aircraft recovery, parachute drop, search-and-rescue, disaster relief, firefighting and heavy construction

The Machesney Park Armory is home to the following:

Special Troops Battalion, 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team
Headquarters and Headquarters Company
135th Chemical Company

This is what sources are reporting so far.  The police chase was first reported in Machesney Park near N Second. Reports of the vehicle was traveling over 100 MPH. During this time a Department of Homeland Security vehicle was rammed.  Unknown on injuries. The suspect vehicle proceeded to keep fleeing from police. They had a government helicopter in the air and was following the suspect vehicle. A short time later, reports were saying the vehicle crashed near Forest Hills and Landstrom.  Also reports of a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the same location. Unknown on the severity of the injuries. Sources said they were able to catch a suspect at the scene. It is not yet known what the suspect was originally wanted for.  (Possibly drug related according to sources) Please avoid this area, numerous officers are working the scene and are diverting traffic. We will post updates as they become available

The vehicle crashed near Forest Hills and Landstrom.  Police have the alleged suspects in custody. Unknown on injuries.  Sounds like they might have hit a pedestrian near this location as well. Still developing, avoid the area

Multiple injuries were being reported and at least a couple of ambulances are on scene.  We been told the medical helicopter might have been dispatched to the scene as well. Unknown on the severity of the injuries at this time.

Victim Hit By A Vehicle & Is Not Breathing, Medical Helicopter Requested

On Friday, November 30, 2018, at approximately 5:15 pm, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Route 173 east of Caledonia Road in rural Boone County for a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident.

Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered that a white female in her mid-twenties had been struck by a vehicle. Several people had stopped to assist including a District 3 fireman who had begun CPR on the victim. The vehicle believed to have struck the woman remained at the scene after the accident. Capron Rescue Squad, Boone County Fire District #3 and Mercy Health MD-1 attempted to revive the woman.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 173 when it struck the pedestrian. Several witnesses reported seeing the woman walking in the roadway wearing all dark clothing.

The female victim was transported the St. Anthony Hospital where she later died. The driver and three passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the accident. Sources are reporting a person is laying in the roadway and is not breathing.

It happened on 173 west of Caledonia rd.

They are currently performing life saving measures on the victim. (CPR)

They are requesting a medical helicopter to the scene.

UPDATE: Female victim was transported to a local hospital via the helicopter, with life threatening injuries.

Sources are reporting around 6:45 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to a head on collision. It happened in the area of Baxter and Lindenwood.

Initial reports are saying there is a head on collision near this intersection.

Extrication is being requested to cut a victim out of a vehicle.

Injuries are being reported.  Sources are saying it appears to be serious.

Avoid the area or expect delays. Still developing.

UPDATE: Sounds like a medical helicopter is en route to the scene. Possible garbage truck involved. A female in her 30’s has life threatening injuries and is being transported to a local E.R. via the emergency helicopter.


Rockford Scanner™: Medical Helicopter Crashes With 4 People On Board

Chicago: Around 9:30 pm tonight a medical helicopter has crashed in Chicago, closing down several highways in the area of I-57 & I-94. 

A Superior Air Ambulance helicopter (N312SA) was transporting a female patient approx. 70 years old to Christ Hospital, when they called a MAYDAY to the tower and said they were going down. 

4 people were on board the helicopter. All have been transported to local hospitals.

Rockford Scanner™: Serious Accident Near Roscoe, Medical Helicopter Requested To The Scene

Update: Winnebago County Coroner Office said Laura Kraman passed away from blunt force trauma to the chest and head.

UPDATE – 6/10/18: The Winnebago County Coroner has released the name of the 34 year-old female who passed away on June 6, 2018.  Here name is Laura Kraman, of Roscoe, was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m. Saturday morning, after a head-on collision with another car.


On Friday, June 8th 2018 at approximately 10:45 P.m., the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a multiple vehicle crash on Roscoe Rd just West of Gleasman Rd. The initial investigation revealed that one vehicle was Westbound on Roscoe Rd. Another vehicle was Eastbound on Roscoe Rd. just west of Gleasman Rd. The 2 vehicles (a silver 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and an orange 2014 Dodge Journey) collided. There was significant damage to both vehicles. After this COLLISION, A second collision occurred before emergency personnel arrived on-scene. a third vehicle (Black 2018 Chevrolet Trailblazer) struck the Dodge Journey that was in the middle of Roscoe Rd. There was minor damage to the Chevrolet Trailblazer. All vehicles were occupied by only the drivers. The driver of the Dodge Journey was a 27 Year Old Female from Roscoe, IL. The driver of the of the Hyundai Santa Fe was a 34 Year Old female from Roscoe, IL. The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer was a 44 year old female from Roscoe, IL Harlem Roscoe Fire Personnel and MD-1 Medical Personnel were on-scene. The driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer refused medical treatment at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Journey had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries.

The identity of the deceased female will be released by the Winnebago County Coroner after they notify next of kin. alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing. Once the investigation is completed the States Attorney will review the case.

Update: This is a possible fatal accident. Not yet confirmed.  

Police have Roscoe rd blocked off at Gleasman. Westbound. And at Chicory Ridge eastbound.

Several emergency personnel are still on scene as of 1am.

Around 11 pm tonight several personnel were on scene of a serious auto accident near Roscoe. 

It happened in the area of Bridge st and Gleasman, near Roscoe. (See map) 

Injuries were reported. Sounds like they requested a medical helicopter to the scene, but it was unable to lift off due to the weather. 

Extrication was also requested, via a source.
