On June 20, 2018 we made a Facebook post asking for assistance with two commercial burglaries. One of the burglaries occurred on June 10th at approximately 4am at Bubbles and Bows, 834 Gardner Street. Evidence recovered from the scene led investigators to identify Nicholas Munoz as the suspect. Upon review by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office an arrest warrant for burglary was authorized.

On February 14, 2019 South Beloit and Beloit Police located Munoz at a residence in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue in Beloit where he was taken into custody. Munoz is lodged in the Rock County Jail awaiting extradition to Winnebago County.

Arrested: Nicholas Munoz, H/M, 28 years of age, Beloit resident.
Charge: Burglary – Bond $200,000.00

The charges against Munoz are accusations and he is considered innocent until proven guilty.

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Police Investigating More Shots Fired

On August 19, 2018 at 11:45AM members of the Rockford Police Department responded to the 1700 block of 2nd Ave. to investigate shots fired at an apartment building. Upon arrival officers met with two female Rockford residents who said their apartment had been struck (5) times by gunfire. Officers located (5) bullet holes on the outside of the apartment. There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire. A witness observed a mid 2000’s burgundy SUV in the immediate area during the incident. This investigation is still on going.

Sources are reporting shots rang out in Rockford just before noon today. 

It happened in the 1700 block of 2nd ave. 

Alleged suspects are 4 male blacks in a Maroon 2002 Rav 4. 

Suspects shot the gun out of the passenger side of the vehicle. 

Some sources have said a person was hit by he gunfire, but we can not yet confirm this. 

RPD confirms a “Weapons violation”
