TRAFFIC ALERT: Tree Removal Causing Traffic Issue in Rockford


Effective Friday, November 11, 2016 at 8:00 AM, the City of Rockford Street Division will be closing Crosby St. between Summit St. and Regan St. for tree removal operations.  The closure will be effective during the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Work is expected to take approximately 4 hours.

The City of Rockford Forestry Division appreciates your cooperation during this time and will work to reopen the roadway as expeditiously as possible


Pizza Delivery Driver Robbed in Rockford


On September 27th., 2016, at 8:59 PM., the Rockford Police Department responded to an armed robbery that took place at Crosby Street and N. Longwood Street. Upon arrival officers met with the victim who was a delivery driver for a local pizza restaurant. The victim advised that he had exited his vehicle to make a delivery when he was approached by two suspects. One was armed with a handgun and both demanded his money. The victim turned the money and food over to the suspects and then ran from the area. The suspects as well fled the area in an unknown direction. Food and money were taken in the robbery. The victim was not injured. The suspects are both described as black males, 20 to 25 years of age, and one was in possession of a silver handgun.
