Rockford Scanner™: Rockford woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury for a stabbing in Rockford

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Rockford woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury for a stabbing last month in Rockford.

On April 6th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were called to the 1400 Block of Chestnut Street for a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers learned that a female had been stabbed, and transported to a Rockford hospital. The victim was subsequently treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Rockford Police Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized against the defendant, Lsean R. Gilmore (D.O.B. 6/14/1976). Gilmore was recently indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury on Aggravated Battery charges.

Aggravated Battery is a Class 3 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 2-5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Gilmore is scheduled to be arraigned at 9:00am on May 16th, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Randy Wilt in Courtroom B of the Winnebago County Criminal Justice Center.

 

The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Rockford Scanner™: 2 Different Stabbing Incidents Overnight




Sources are reporting 2 different stabbing incidents over night.

The first one happened near the 1400 block of Chestnut st.

The other stabbing was reported at Rockford Memorial Hospital. It is unclear if it happened at the hospital or the victim arrived there and the called police.

No suspect information on either of these stabbings.

No other information at this time.

No suspect information.

RPD did not log this call in the call logs.

Unrelated: Rockford Police were investigating another shots fired call on Eagle Drive around 4:20 pm.  We been told there was a possible victim, but RPD has yet to release any information on either of these incidents.

Rockford Scanner™: Fatal Shooting Just Happened in Rockford



UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Prince Chatman 


Chief O’Shea said a vehicle crashed and the driver was shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where the victim was confirmed dead.

The victim has passed away.

This is a homicide investigation.

The victim is approx. 35 years old.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

Around 7:30 pm tonight several sources were reporting a serious motorcycle accident in Rockford. 

It happened in the area of Rockton and Chestnut. 

There is a serious motorcycle accident near this location. 

At least two people injured.  One with massive head injuries and unconscious.

Rockford Scanner™: A Female Ran Over A Man In Rockford, Emergency Personnel En Route




 

 

 

 Around 7:30 pm tonight several emergency personnel were responding to an accident in Rockford. 

A pedestrian was ran over by a vehicle near Chestnut and Henrietta. 

A man was ran over by a woman. There is a lot of yelling going on. 

Sounds like it might be a possible domestic related.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Charged With Several Counts Of Sexual Assault To A Child In Rockford




 

 

 

On Monday, May 21st, 2018 a Rockford Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified about a possible sexual assault which had occurred at a residence in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street. The information that was received indicated that a juvenile victim, under the age of 13, had been sexually assaulted by an adult male acquaintance of the family.

Detectives from the Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation and were able to identify a suspect, 24-year-old Jesus Pena Jr. of Elgin, IL. The investigation was later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was obtained for the suspect.

On Thursday, May 31st, 2018 Jesus Pena Jr. was arrested by detectives and later lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on his warrant for the listed charges. A photo of Jesus Pena Jr. is attached:

The charges against Jesus Pena Jr. are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases he is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
