Rockford Scanner™: 1st Responder in Rockford, Reporting Numerous Gunshots




Sources are reporting numerous gunshots were fired.

1st responders were in the 1800 block of Elm in Rockford, around 4:20 am. They reported hearing numerous gunshots, too many to count.  Then saw several vehicles fleeing the area without their lights on and driving reckless.

There was a party just South of their location. Reports were saying the police were breaking up the party.  It is not yet known if the gunshots were from this incident, or something different.

We have been told there was one victim that may have been shot and was self transporting to a local ER.

No suspect information at this time.

RPD has yet to confirm or release any information yet.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Hits Parked Car, Shots Fired Incident




Around 3 am this morning a vehicle hit 2 parked vehicles in the 1000 block of N Horsman. No injuries were being reported.  The victim said she had just gotten her vehicle out of the shop recently.  She had it parked on the street when someone drove by and hit her parked vehicle.

While police were on scene with this accident. Shots were fired SW of that location. Those shots were fired in the area of Chestnut and Tay.  So the officers investigating the accident scene left there and went to the shooting incident. Unknown on injuries at the shooting incident scene.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Police Doing Crowd Control, Large Gathering of People




 

A large group of people were gathered in and near the roadway on Chestnut near Waldo.  SE of Central/State.

Rockford Police were on scene doing crowd control and moving along the large crowd.

No reports of injuries or arrests.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Multiple Scenes in Rockford Tonight




 

Sources are reporting several scenes in the Rockford area.

The first scene is around foster on Rockford Westside.  Several police officers in a police K-9 are searching the area.  We have been told that it was a robbery, but is not yet confirmed.  And the suspects fled in the area on foot.

The second scene is on Rockford Eastside just north of the Swedish American Hospital near the Rockford Police Department neighborhood strong house.  Reports of at least 10 police cars around scene and have a truck surrounded.

We’ve been told that it was a shooting scene but as you know we cannot confirm anything due to police encryption and the Rockford Police Department have yet to release any information.

The third scene is near Alpine and Harrison at least three gunshots were heard.  We’ve been told that there are injuries, but not yet confirmed.

Fourth scene at the Whitman st bridge.  A black male had is leg over the railing and it appeared he may be jumping into the Rock River. Emergency personnel arrived on scene but did not see the man, so they went back in service.

No suspect information on any of these at this time

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury for a stabbing in Rockford




 

State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Rockford woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury for a stabbing last month in Rockford.

On April 6th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were called to the 1400 Block of Chestnut Street for a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers learned that a female had been stabbed, and transported to a Rockford hospital. The victim was subsequently treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Rockford Police Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized against the defendant, Lsean R. Gilmore (D.O.B. 6/14/1976). Gilmore was recently indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury on Aggravated Battery charges.

Aggravated Battery is a Class 3 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 2-5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Gilmore is scheduled to be arraigned at 9:00am on May 16th, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Randy Wilt in Courtroom B of the Winnebago County Criminal Justice Center.

 

The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Rockford Scanner™: 2 Different Stabbing Incidents Overnight




Sources are reporting 2 different stabbing incidents over night.

The first one happened near the 1400 block of Chestnut st.

The other stabbing was reported at Rockford Memorial Hospital. It is unclear if it happened at the hospital or the victim arrived there and the called police.

No suspect information on either of these stabbings.

No other information at this time.

No suspect information.

RPD did not log this call in the call logs.

Unrelated: Rockford Police were investigating another shots fired call on Eagle Drive around 4:20 pm.  We been told there was a possible victim, but RPD has yet to release any information on either of these incidents.

Rockford Scanner™: Fatal Shooting Just Happened in Rockford



UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Prince Chatman 


Chief O’Shea said a vehicle crashed and the driver was shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where the victim was confirmed dead.

The victim has passed away.

This is a homicide investigation.

The victim is approx. 35 years old.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.
