Rockford Scanner™: Building Falling Apart, Into The Roadway


Sources are reporting a building is falling apart into the roadway in Rockford. 

It happened around 4 pm today on 5th ave.
(Sources said the 1600 block, some are saying just East of 11th st)

Parts of a building was falling into the roadway. 

Emergency personnel and the building inspector are reported to be on scene. 

Unknown on how the building has fallen apart. 

No reports of injuries at the time of posting this.

Sources are reporting a vehicle has crashed into a building in Rockford.  It happened around 10:10 pm near the 1300 block of Harrison ave.  A vehicle reported to have crashed into a building near this location. Injuries were being reported. It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries. Still developing. 



Rockford Scanner™: Accident On the East Side, 4 Shots Heard Just Prior To The Accident

Update from a source: “Baby from accident is fine resting ,in a little pain with some bumps bruises”

Sources are reporting an accident on the East side.
With possible shots fired just prior to the accident.
4 shots were heard just prior to the accident.

It happened just before 2:30 am this morning near 12th ave and 25th st.

Initial reports said a car vs building, back of the school. An infant was involved and the infant was not breathing and the infant was bleeding.

The mother and infant left while emergency personnel were trying to do an assessment at the scene. Transported to a local ER via her own vehicle.

Admin Will went to the scene to work the story and he has worked several fatals over the years as well. And he said it did not appear to be a fatal. And he did not see any buildings hit.  He said it appeared to be only a traffic accident from what he saw at the scene.

He did say that police were on 12th ave and 23rd st, and someone was in the back seat of the squad car. So this possibly might of been an accident where the occupant fled, and police caught the occupant.

He said the vehicle crashed into a ditch area near 25th st and 12th ave, and into a part of a baseball diamond fence.

He said he did not see any evidence markers laying anywhere, so the shots fired is unconfirmed.  But several sources have reported the gunshots.

Police have yet to release any information on the incident.


Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Crashes Into A House, Injuries Being Reported


Sources are reporting a bad accident on the East Side. 

It happened in the area of 9th and Reed.

A vehicle crashed into 2 vehicles before crashing into a residence.

Injuries were being reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Witnesses said one person was in handcuffs, unknown why at this time.

No other information at this time.

Source said: ” he also hit a vehicle outside of our house on Brooke Rd, the incident started with him driving west bound on Brooke Rd, hitting a vehicle in front of our house, then he turned around, drove back in front of house heading east bound, he came to the corner of 9th & Brooke Rd, he took a left & hit another vehicle & the crashed into the house ”

Black SUV crashed head on into corner of brick building. Passed me going approx 80 mph down Broadway and then later I drove by him and he was crashed into a building.

Many people stopped to make sure driver was OK. Seemed to be okay and was talking to people.”

Just before 2:30 pm today several emergency personnel were responding to an accident scene.

A vehicle has crashed into a building in the 4300 block of Hampshire Close in Rockford.

Unknown on injuries at the time of writing this.

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a building that partially collapsed in Rockford




Early this morning the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a building that partially collapsed in Rockford. 

It happened in the 800 block of S Main. 

The debris from the collapse, landed on the nearby sidewalk and roadway. 

Thankfully no one was injured. 

Unknown why the structure partially collapsed.
