Reports of a few scenes on the East side. 

  • The areas of Rolling Green neighborhood, Alpine, Newburg,  Broadway etc…  are reported to be without power. Approx. 1,500 customers are without power. The estimated restore time is approx 5:30 pm.

Rockford Scanner™: Accident With Injuries in Rockford

Sources are reporting an auto accident in Rockford.

It happened around 3:40 pm near Broadway and 17th.

Reports of an accident with injuries, near this intersection.

We have been told by sources the injuries appeared to be non life threatening but officials have not yet confirmed this. Avoid the area for awhile.



Rockford Scanner™: Victim Shot On the East Side

UPDATE:   RPD has confirmed there was an aggravated battery with a firearm call at this location. Their 72 hour call log also showed this.

But RPD has yet to provide the details of the incident. They said they were going to do a blotter release on the incident, but there is no blotter released on it, as of the time of writing this.

We have been sitting on the story for awhile now to see if police would release information on this. They have yet to do so, so we are going to post it. 

Sources told us last night a victim was shot on the East side. It happened just before 2 am near Broadway and Log Cabin. 

We have been told the injuries appeared to be life threatening, but police have yet to confirm this. 

Unknown on the suspect information at this time. 



Rockford Scanner™: Serious Accident in Rockford, Avoid The Area

CRASH UPDATE: On Saturday, August 24, 2019, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Rockford Police Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 3700 block of Broadway. Officers learned a vehicle traveling westbound crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle going eastbound. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 54-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. Her name is not being released at this time. The 15-year-old male passenger in the westbound vehicle and the 37-year-old male driver of the eastbound vehicle were both transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Rockford Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Team is on scene investigating the accident. The public is asked to avoid the area for the next several hours. No further information is available at this time

CRASH UPDATE: 1 person pronounced deceased, 2 others transported to a local hospital. Reconstruction team on scene investigating.

We heard the female approx 50 years old and the male in his 20-30’s were transported to a local hospital.  There are reports a 3rd victim, And their condition is unknown.  Extrication took approx. 15 minutes according to sources.

UPDATE: This is a confirmed fatal. Officials have confirmed one person has died and 2 others have been transported.

Sources are reporting a head on collision. 

It happened approx. a bit after 6 pm tonight in the 3800 block of Broadway.
That is near Eastmoreland and Sexton.

Injuries were being reported. We have been told the injuries do appear to be serious. (Possibly fatal)  But officials have not confirmed this yet.

Victims are reported to be a female approx. 50 years old. and a male in his 20-30’s. And an unknown 3rd victim.

Extrication is needed.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Wanted For Shooting A Woman In The Head At A Rockford Child Care Facility


Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces charges against a man for a shooting that happened near a Rockford Child Care Facility in July.

On July 17th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Broadway and 24th Street in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival, Officers met with witnesses who said several shots were fired from the inside of a dark colored vehicle that drove past the Tender Beginnings Learning Center in the 2700 Block of Broadway.

A woman, later identified at Brooke Brauer, was struck by the gunfire and transported to a Rockford hospital where she was treated and released. Rockford Police Violent Crimes Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.  As a result Attempt First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm charges have been authorized against Deondre N. Friar (DOB: 2/18/1995).

Attempt First Degree Murder is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a special sentence of 31 years to Natural Life in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm is a Class 1 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 4-15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.



Rockford Scanner™: Two Accidents, One Crashes Into A House in Rockford.

Sources are reporting two accidents.

A vehicle has crashed into a house near Broadway and 25th. An occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. Police tracked the suspect to the area of East High School.


Another accident happened on Forest Hills near the exit to Loves Park.

The cause of the accidents are under investigation.



Rockford Scanner™: Serious Motorcycle Accident in Rockford

A 46 year-old female was seriously injured following an accident today at Broadway Street and Log Cabin. The Rockford Police Department Traffic Unit is reconstructing the crash. This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time.

At approximately 12:47 p.m. today, Rockford Police Officers responded to an accident at Broadway and Log Cabin.

A motorcycle and a car collided causing life-threatening injuries to the passenger of the motorcycle.

The 3800 to 4000 blocks of Broadway are now closed while the Rockford Police Department Accident Reconstruction team conducts an investigation.

This is an active investigation and no further information is available at this time.

It happened around 11 pm on 6th st between Broadway and 15th.

Unknown on injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Crime Scene Tape Up, Vehicle Crashes Into A Rockford Busines

Sources are reporting an accident on the East side.

It happened around 10 pm near Alpine and Broadway.

Reports of a Dodge Neon has crashed into a business near this location.

Unknown on injuries.  We have been told that there are numerous police officers on the scene, so it is unknown if anything else happened

(Due to the very large police presence and police have the crime scene tape up)

Sources said 1 person was taken away in an ambulance. Unknown on the injuries or the severity of the injuries.
