Rockford Scanner™: Caught On Video, Local Police Clear out A Large Crowd At A Gas Station



 

 

 

Around 2 am numerous police officers from the Rockford Police and Winnebago County Sheriff, did some crowd control at a Rockford gas station. 

It happened at the Citgo on Auburn, near the Auburn Manor. 

A large crowd gathered in the parking lot just prior to the police showing up.  

Several police officers swarmed the parking lot and moved everyone along. Some people fled when officers arrived and some officers chased the suspects fleeing. 

No reports of injuries or arrests.

UPDATE: Sources say the motorcyclists is in stable condition.


Around 1 am this morning, several emergency personnel were dispatched for a serious motorcycle accident in Rockford. 

It happened on N Second st, south of Spring Creek in the southbound lanes. 

Police have the roadway blocked off southbound. 

Injuries were being reported.  Sounds like the injuries might be serious , but not confirmed.

It is described as a red dodge caravan with a betty boop sticker in the window.

Rockford Scanner™: Three People Shot At One Scene in Rockford, Still Developing



 

 

 

On 08/25/18 at 5:25 am Rockford Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 4100 Auburn Street. Shortly after, 3 individuals arrived at separate Rockford area hospitals with non life threatening gunshot injuries. All three individuals indicated they had been shot in the 4100 block of Auburn Street.

This is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this matter is urged to call Rockford Police or the Rockford Area Crime Stoppers.

Several sources are reporting shots were fired near the Auburn High School area. 

There was a football game going on at the time the shots were fired. 

The shots fired did not happen at the school, but very close nearby. 

All the football players laid down on the field, for safety.

Unknown on injuries. 

They reported to have shut the game down early, due to this incident. 

RPD confirms a weapons violation. School district has yet to make any information public.

Suspects beat the victim during a robbery and carjacking in Rockford. 

It happened on Auburn ct around 12:30 pm

The victim is bleeding from the head.  (Possibly shot)

The suspects stole the victims vehicle and then fled the scene. 

The vehicle is described as a White Lincoln SUV

Sources are reporting the Rockford Police are investigating a couple of armed robberies 

The first one is near the area on Preston and Johnston. 

Second one is near the area of the 2700 block of Arthur ave. 

Sources said these are possibly related. 

Third robbery happened near the 3200 block of Auburn st

Just before 9 am this morning, several sources were reporting several police officers working a crime scene near the Auburn st bridge. 

It happened along the bike path near Sinnissippi Park, near Auburn st bridge.  Several police officers are on scene. 

As you know, the RPD and park district are encrypted and have yet to release information. 

Sources have told us this is possibly a death investigation and a body was found. We can not yet confirm this.

Rockford Scanner™: Sources Reporting A Man Shot In Rockford & Passed Away



Details are minimal because RPD are encrypted and have yet to release information. 

UPDATE: Confirmed fatal shooting.
The man approx. 37 years old, has died. 


Several sources are reporting a fatal shooting in Rockford over night. 

The shooting happened on Harlem.  The male shooting victim was reported to have been shot in the head and was laying in the driveway. 

The victim is reported to be around 37 years old. 

Suspects are in a Red Suburban, last seen towards the Auburn st bridge.

Sources are reporting a big animal sighting in Winnebago County.

As you know the local police department and the animal control are encrypted so details are minimal at this time.

Unconfirmed reports of a large animal has been spotted  in Winnebago County.

Reports are saying it was first spotted in the area of Springfield and Safford around 230 this morning and around Auburn and Springfield around 530 this morning.

Note: Local agencies confirmed a “lost/missing animal” call in these areas, around these times.

Around 1 am several emergency personnel were responding to a stabbing call. 

It happened in the 4100 block of Auburn st. 

Reports of a man being stabbed near this location. 

The victim was trying to refuse medical treatment.

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Shot At A Rockford Bar, Several Emergency Personnel On Scene. Still Developing




 

 

Sources were reporting a shooting at a Rockford bar.

It happened at the Two Wheel Inn, at 4433 Auburn St, around midnight. 

Emergency personnel were responding to an “In Progress” call at the bar. 

A short time later, there was a shooting victim over on N Johnston. 

The shooting victim was at Two Wheel Inn, when they were shot and then ran over to N Johnston to seek medical treatment.  Emergency personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital. 

No suspect information at this time. 

All information is preliminary. 


While I was on scene, the RPD did detain a black male at the Citgo Gas Station nearby. The police also searched the vehicle. Unknown if it is related to the incident. 

UPDATE from a source: The man detained in the video, is not related to the Two Wheel Inn shooting. But is a person of interest in another incident.

Around 6:30 pm tonight several emergency personnel were responding to a serious accident on the West side. 

It happened in the area of Auburn and Central. 

Reports of an auto accident near this location and at least 1 person is injured. 

The person is reported to be unconscious and bleeding from the head and is now having a seizure. 

Please avoid the area, or expect delays. 


The Rockford Police Department advises you to AVOID Auburn Street and Central Avenue (north bound lanes) due to a current traffic issue. Auburn St and Central Ave north bound lanes are closed and will require a detour of traffic for the next several hours. The suggested alternate route is Kilburn Ave or Springfield Ave.

One sources is reporting there is police in the 1200 block of Willard. 

We have heard conflicting reports of a shooting victim.

So it is not confirmed if someone was hit by the gunfire at this time.

A vehicle has crashed into an apartment complex near Auburn st, in the 2200 block.

It happened around 8:30 pm tonight. 

Sounds like there was a shootout that lasted several blocks. 

Sources say a residence and a vehicle were struck by the gunfire near Ashland and Ridge. 

Reports of shots fired in the areas of Ashland, Ridge, Auburn, Latham, North ave, Napoleon, Church. 

Unknown if anyone has been struck by the gunfire.
