UPDATE: Police have charged him with 2 more counts of arson in Rockford.
Garages in the 1700 block of S. 5th St. in Rockford on Feb. 28 and March 20. , he was arrested for allegedly setting these fires also.
Officials said he has been charged in these fire incidents and said more charges may be pending.
Police said they are investigating and think he is involved in several more, and said more charges might be pending. But couldn’t say more because it is an open investigation. Officials said he was a firefighter at Blackhawk Fire Dept. but released him after he was arrested.
Sources are reporting a local firefighter has been charged with multiple counts of arson.
Police have arrested 21-year-old Brandon Cox on multiple counts of arson.
He is booked in the Winnebago County Jail on $25,000 bail and his next court date is 3/25/2019 at 1:30 pm.
There have been several fires in the Blackhawk Fire Department District, … We been told his charges stems from some of these fires. The same district he was reported to be a firefighter in. It is not yet clear if he is still a firefighter now or not. Officials have yet to release any information on this.
On Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at approximately 4 PM the Rockford police responded to the Dollar Tree at 526 E. Jefferson St. in reference to an armed robbery.
When the Rockford Police Department arrived the officers learn the suspect approached the cashier and applied he had a weapon and demanded cash. The suspect then fled with a small amount of money.
Officers located the man a short distance away walking east bound on Jefferson and took him into custody.
32 years old Charles Hill from Rockford was arrested for aggravated robbery and retail theft. He was lodged in the Winnebago County jail. The charges against him are merely accusations he is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Around 4 PM today emergency personnel or responded to the 500 block of Jefferson Street in downtown Rockford.
Initial reports were saying a man was down near this location and injured.
Rockford Police Department are confirming an armed robbery.
But they would not confirm the injuries at this time.
Sources nearby sent us a photo of a man being handcuffed in the Dollar Tree Parking lot. It is not yet confirmed if this is related to the armed robbery or not.
UPDATE: A suspect attempted to run over a citizen in the parking lot.
The victim was a 33 year old male who left the scene but police located him walking westbound on E State st. The victim sustained a minor leg injury.
The suspect and the victim knew each other, and were in a domestic relationship.
A short time later the WCSO located the vehicle near Pinecrest and Highcrest and stopped the vehicle.
The alleged suspect, 25 year old Lemark Moore was arrested.

Sources are reporting a man has been arrested predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Rockford.
Sources said 29-year-old Stedman Dismuke was arrested
He is considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
Sources said a Rockford senior citizen has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting several children.
Police conducted a 2 month investigation, before arresting the man.
The senior citizen who was arrested is 66 year old Glenn Farris.
Police said he allegedly sexually assaulted three children under the age of 13 at a residence in the 1900 block of W Riverside.
Police have taken Donald Ashford Jr. into custody on Tuesday March 5th 2019 and has been booked into the Winnebago County Jail around noon. His next court appearance is March 19th at 9am.
On October 8th, 2016, just after 3:00pm, Cherry Valley Police were called to the south parking lot of the CherryVale Mall after reports of a shooting. Officers located one male victim, who had been shot outside of the JCPenney’s store. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation which was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and charges were authorized against Donald Ashford, Jr.
Donald Ashford, Jr. (D.O.B. 8/26/1994) was indicted on four counts of Attempt First Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, one count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and six counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon charges.
Attempt First Degree Murder is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a minimum of 21 years to Natural Life in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Aggravated Battery with a Firearm is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois department of Corrections followed by a year of Mandatory Supervised Release
Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon is a Class 3 Felony that is punishable by a special sentence of 2-10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a year of Mandatory Supervised Release.
The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
