Single Vehicle Crash

On 01/16/19 at 0015 hours Ogle County Sheriff Deputies come upon a single vehicle crash at Rt 2 and Mud Creek Rd.

Upon investigating the crash, Deputies determined Kendall Pelt age 46 of Mt Morris, failed to reduce speed to avoid and accident and struck the guardrail on Rt 2 east of Mud Creek Rd.

Ogle County Police said that Pelt was arrested for failure to reduce speed, DUI, no valid license, and operating uninsured motor vehicle.

Pelt was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.

Sources said two suspect stole a vehicle.

Police were able to catch one alleged suspect in the area of 405 Jackson St in Belvidere just after midnight.

Another suspect got away and police were searching the area.

They recovered the vehicle.    Still developing.

UPDATE: Sources are reporting this is a warrant service/bust.

Sources said the man arrested is a registered sex offender.

We can confirm this man has been arrested and is currently being booked in the Winnebago County Jail.

Police have yet to release information.


Several sources have told us the FBI task force is working a scene near July Drive & Judy ct in Machesney Park this afternoon.
July Drive is near Ventura blvd

Sources are reporting the FBI Task force along with other officers, are on scene near July Drive.

They are carrying Orange Hazmat bags and wearing rubber gloves.

Unknown what happened at this time.

Police have yet (And like normal probably won’t) to release information on this.

SHOOTING ARREST: On Thursday, December 13, 2018, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the area of Arline Avenue and Richmond Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male victim who had been shot in the legs. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned the incident was domestic related, and detectives and SCOPE officers conducted a follow up investigation. The suspect, 33-year-old Samantha Holt, was located a short distance away after she fled the scene on foot, and a weapon was recovered. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case, and authorized the below listed charges.

Holt was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Holt are merely accusations. She is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

ARMED ROBBERY ARREST: A Rockford man now faces charges following an armed robbery to a business over the weekend. On Saturday, November 17, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Papa John’s (2975 North Perryville Road).

Upon arrival, officers learned two suspects entered the restaurant, one armed with a handgun and the other with a baseball bat, and demanded money. The suspects fled with money and a phone in a dark-colored, 4-door vehicle. No one was hurt.

A short time after the incident, deputies with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle and followed it.

The two suspects got out of the vehicle at South Mulford Road and Harrison Avenue and fled on foot. A K9 located one of the suspects, identified as 26-year-old Eugene Shanklin, and he was taken into custody.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges.

Shanklin was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Shanklin are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Arrested After 2 Violent Crimes Against Female Employees

ARRESTED: A Rockford man faces charges related to two separate, violent robberies in the City of Rockford. On Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Jasmine Pantry (2614 Kilburn Avenue) in reference to a robbery to the business where the clerk was beaten. The suspect fled with several items and cash. A 17-year-old male was originally identified as a possible suspect, but upon further investigation by detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined the 17-year-old was not involved. Investigators were able to identify 20-year-old Joseph Collins as the suspect.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, SCOPE officers arrested Collins on an unrelated warrant. During the investigation, it was also determined that Collins was responsible for beating and robbing a pizza delivery driver in the 500 block of North Day Avenue on August 15, 2018.

Upon further review, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the below listed charges against Collins.

Collins was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Collins are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court

 







Rockford Scanner™: Dead Body Found In Rockford, Police Working A “Medical Assist”

UPDATE: Winnebago County Coroner says the victim is 36-year-old Jennifer Lewis of Rockford. She passed away from blunt force trauma.

RPD has yet to release suspect information.


Sources are reporting a lot of police and crime scene and crime scene tape on the East side.

Reports of a body found.

It happened in the area of 10th and 9th st.

RPD is saying this is a “medical assist” call.

Sources are reporting a woman was beaten to death, but not yet confirmed.

SUSPICIOUS DEATH: On Tuesday, September 11, 2018 shortly after 8:00 a.m., Rockford Police officers were called for a medical assist involving an unresponsive female at an apartment in the 900 block of 10th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located the body of a 36-year-old female who was deceased. The incident is being treated as a suspicious death. Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are conducting a follow up investigation. No further details are being released at this time.








Rockford Scanner™: Man Arrested After Being Involved In An Auto Accident



 

 

 

On 8-6-18 at 4:49 pm, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at Illinois Rte 72 and Mulford Road.

It was learned that a 2001 Ford pickup driven by Omar Corral, age 36 of Plano was Southbound on Mulford and failed to stop at the intersection causing a 1992 Mitsubishi driven by Cody Brewington, 28 of Kirkland to strike the Ford.

No injuries were reported.

Omar received citations for Disobeying Traffic Control Device and Possession of Cannabis under 10 Grams. Omar was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Fireworks and Unlawful Possession of Adulterants to Defraud Drug and Alcohol Tests. Omar was transported to the Ogle Co Jail and held without bond.

Deputes were assisted at the scene by the Illinois State Police, Maggio’s wrecker and D&W Wrecker.

Crash remains under investigation.
