Around 9:30 pm last night the Rockford Fire Department responded to 3327 Sun Valley Terrace for a residential structure fire with multiple people trapped.

At least 5 people were transported to a local hospital. Unknown on their conditions at this time.

The RFD were able to rescue several people from the burning building and got the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Around 5:45 pm tonight, the Rockford Fire Department is battling an apartment fire in the 1200 block of S Court st in Rockford.

There are 6 apartments in the complex.

A transformer blew and caught the building on fire.

A resident is refusing to evacuate, because she can not locate her cat.

UNRELATED: There is an electrical fire at a structure in the 1200 block of S Church street as well

Sources are reporting a structure fire in Rockford just before 5 PM

It happened in the area of the 4800 block of Creekview road in Rockford
SE of Alpine and E State st

there is a confirmed fire with a large amount of smoke coming from the second floor of the building, in the rear of the building.

Reports of people trapped on balconies and inside the building.

People were trying to go in and save the others, and the call-taker told them to stay out of the building.

Unknown on injuries.

Just after 3:30 PM the Rockford fire department were responding to a possible apartment fire.

There is reports of one of the apartments inside the apartment complex on fire, near the Orchard Hills Apartments near  Charles Street.

Smoke is visible at the scene. Several units from the Rockford fire department are in route. This is still developing

They are laying a booster line to battle the fire, there is a confirmed fire. But was quickly under control. Still developing.

Around 1:30 pm on Sunday May 6th, the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a fire at an apartment complex in Rockford.

It happened in the area of 3701 Trilling. That is near the Rock River and Cliffbreakers.

There was a fire in one of the apartments at the complex. 

One person was trapped on the balcony. The RFD was able to safely rescue the victim.

The fire was contained by a sprinkler system at the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
