UPDATE:   RPD has confirmed there was an aggravated battery with a firearm call at this location. Their 72 hour call log also showed this.

But RPD has yet to provide the details of the incident. They said they were going to do a blotter release on the incident, but there is no blotter released on it, as of the time of writing this.


We have been sitting on the story for awhile now to see if police would release information on this. They have yet to do so, so we are going to post it. 

Sources told us last night a victim was shot on the East side. It happened just before 2 am near Broadway and Log Cabin. 

We have been told the injuries appeared to be life threatening, but police have yet to confirm this. 

Unknown on the suspect information at this time. 

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Severely Injured, Possibly During A Home Invasion




Sources are reporting a stabbing in Rockford. 

It happened in the 1000 block 12th. 

One person was stabbed and severely injured according to sources. We have been told this was during a home invasion. But again, police have yet to confirm anything or release any information.  

Suspect is a black male, 6’0, 150 lbs, wearing a black jacket. He was last seen westbound in the alley. 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Police Arrest An Alleged Violent Wanted Man, At A Local Motel




 

Sources are reporting a scene at a local motel last night around 10:30 pm in the 7600 block of Colosseum in Rockford. 

Sources said the local police got a tip on a wanted suspect that was staying at the motel.

Police conducted an investigation and found the wanted man. 

Police arrested a man named Sam Giacalone.   

He was booked in the jail around 12:30 am on several charges that include: Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery, Violation of Bail Bond, violation of a no stalking order, etc…  He is being held in the jail on a no bond.

Sources have told us around 2:30 am this morning, suspects purposely ran over a victim in Rockford.  It happened around 2:30 am in the 700 block of Royal ave in Rockford.

The victim was injured and had leg and head injuries.

Suspects fled the scene. No suspect information.

RPD has yet to release information on this incident.

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.

Details are minimal right now.

A shooting victim arrived at a local hospital around 4 am this morning.

It is unclear on the location of where the shooting took place, and the severity of the injuries at the time of writing this.

All we can confirm right now is there is at least one shooting victim that arrived at a local E.R. around 4 am.

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.

It happened a little after 10 PM tonight in the 100 block of Cameron Avenue.  That is near Concorde Commons.

Reports of several gunshots were heard in the area and at least one person has been struck by the gunfire.  There is one confirmed shooting victim, that was transported to a nearby hospital.  It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries at this time.  No suspect information.  This is still developing

From neighbors:  “We have been telling the new manager about the recent problems and the new manager has been ignoring the issue. And now look at what happened!  Someone has been shot and there is blood trail all over the place! This could have been prevented if the new manager would listen to the residents and our complaints”








 

Rockford Scanner™: Suspects viciously beat a victim with a hammer in Rockford




 

On Sunday shortly before 7 PM.  The Rockford police responded to the McDonald’s at 3710 Auburn in reference to an injured person. 

When officers arrived they located a 24-year-old male suffering from a head injury. The incident occurred a few minutes prior at the Family Dollar at 3824 Auburn St. 

The victim exited the store and three suspects battered the victim.  One of the suspects was armed with a hammer and viciously beat the victim.  The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

The suspects are described as three black males in their 20s.  The first suspect was last seen wearing a camouflage hat, yellow shirt, camouflage pants and white shoes. 

The second suspect was armed with the hammer had short dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. 

The third suspect had long dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a white shirt and red pants.

Sources of told us there was a shooting that happened at this location.

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Shot in Rockford, Police Investigating




 

Rockford police released information today on a shooting that happened on Friday.

On Friday, May 31 at approximately 10:30 PM the Rockford Police Department responded to the 400 block of S. Henrietta St. in reference to a weapons violation.

Upon their arrival officers located a vehicle struck by gunfire. While they were investigating a 27-year-old male shooting victim arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was shot in the arm.

Officer learned a large group of people had gathered in a parking lot when an argument occurred. A male suspect then fired several gunshots and then fled the scene on foot.

At approximately 12:30 AM on Saturday the Rockford police scope officers located the suspect later identified as 46-year-old Murphy Doss, In the 500 block of Howard Avenue. He was taken into custody.

The Winnebago County states Attorney’s office reviewed the case and authorize the following charges: Aggravated discharge of a firearm x2, Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, unlawful use of weapons by a gang member, no Foid card.

He was lodged in the Winnebago County jail. The charges against him are merely accusations he is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law
