UPDATE: A suspect rammed a police car, the police fired shot at the suspect. Suspect was in a Blue 2001 Ford Focus with a plate of AP89823 comes back to an address at 2805 Edelweiss in Rockford. Sources said the alleged suspect is Alexandro Marquez. Hispanic male, medium build in his 20’s. Public records shows he has prior arrests for DUI and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and also possession of cannabis. Police are searching for this suspect.

A neighbor said there was a roadrage incident involving the off duty officer and the alleged suspect. A lot of screaming and fighting going on just prior to the shots being fired.


OFFICER’S VEHICLE RAMMED: On Sunday, January 20, 2019 shortly before 6:30 p.m., an off-duty Rockford Police officer was the victim of a vehicular assault in the area of 8th Street and 5th Avenue.

During the incident, the off-duty officer discharged their weapon at the suspect vehicle after it rammed the officer’s vehicle. The officer was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. There are no known injuries at this time. (Sources said one victim was shot, RPD is saying no shooting victim) The Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force was activated at the request of Chief Dan O’Shea and will investigate the incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.


Sources are reporting a shooting on the East side.

Shooting is in the area of  8th st and 5th ave

Numerous police on scene, sounds like they might be searching for a suspect in the area.  No other information at this time.

On Wednesday 12/12/18 shortly after noon, Rockford Police responded to a local hospital in reference to a stabbing victim, an eighteen year old male. Officers learned the victim confronted a theft suspect in the area of 8th Street and 4th Avenue.

The victim was stabbed during the confrontation. The victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The suspect was described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, mid twenties, between 5’08”-5’11” tall, medium build, wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans. The suspect left the area on a bicycle.

SUNDAY MURDER UPDATE: A second victim of Sunday morning’s shooting in the area of Broadway and 8th Street has died.

One of the 29-year-old males transported to a local hospital in critical condition, succumbed to injuries sustained during the incident.

Officers responded shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 for a call of shots fired. A total of three people were struck by gunfire at an after-hours party. A 25-year-old female was pronounced dead early Sunday morning, the other 29-year-old male victim remains in critical condition. The names of the victims are not being released at this time. The investigation is still ongoing. No further details are available at this time. Anyone with information should call Rockford Police at 815-966-2900 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.


MURDER INVESTIGATION: On Sunday, November 25th, 2018, shortly before 2:30 a.m. patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to the area of Broadway and 8th Street in reference to a call for shots fired.

When they arrived, officers located a 29-year-old male shooting victim who was transported to a local hospital by a fire department ambulance. During that time, two additional shooting victims, a 25-year-old female and 29-year-old male, arrived at a local hospital suffering from injuries sustained during the same incident.

The female victim later died as a result of her injuries. Both male victims are being treated for life-threatening injuries. The names of the victims are not being released at this time.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department are conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident which is believed to have stemmed from an after-hours party. 3 confirmed shooting victims.  This is now a fatal shooting. A 25 year old woman has died.   The 2 other victims are both 29 year old males. They are both suffering from life threatening injuries.

Call log note: RPD call log from 140 am – 4 am does not show this call at all.  County call log shows service another agency at Broadway and 9th at 2:37 am.

Winnebago County Sheriff did label the fatal triple shooting in their call log. But it is labeled as “Service other agency”


Sources are reporting at least three people shot near the Rockford police District 2 HQ. Broadway and 9th street area.

Details are minimal right now due to the encryption.

Reports of approx. 3 people have been shot. Possibly more.

UPDATE: The vehicle was fleeing from police. It happened on W Grand. The white G6 was recovered from the scene, but the black male driver with curly hair was still able to elude police on foot and is still loose in the area.


Vehicle crashed into a house and now is on fire.

It happened just before 11 am, near 709 Brooks near Beloit, WI

A vehicle has crashed into a residence and is now on fire.

Unknown on injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Another Rollover Accident With Injuries, Extrication Needed in Rockford



 

Just before 3:30 pm today, several emergency personnel were responding to a rollover accident with injuries and extrication is needed to cut at least one person out of the vehicle.

It happened in the area of Kishwaukee and 8th ave.

Note: There was a rollover accident earlier near Kishwaukee and College. Not related to this accident.

There is an accident near this location.

Injuries were being reported.

Extrication is being requested.

Avoid the area or expect long traffic delays








Rockford Scanner™: House Fire With 2 People Reported To Be Inside

UPDATE: RFD said the fire is under control and is under investigation.  Initial reports said 2 homeless people were sleeping inside. RFD did not mention this in their release. So we assume those people were able to make it out.  


Just before 4:30 am this morning the Rockford Fire Department were battling a house fire.

It is reported to be a vacant house, but two people were reported to be sleeping inside the house. 

It happened in the 1100 block of 8th, on Rockford’s East side. 

Unknown on the status of the 2 reported people that were reported to be inside.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Stop Vehicle, Alleged Suspect Flees On Foot




 

 

 

Details are minimal. 

Around 1 am this morning several police officers had a vehicle stopped in an alleyway near 8th st and 12th ave. Sources are reporting the WCSO initiated a traffic stop near this location. At least one alleged suspect (unknown description) fled on foot Eastbound from the vehicle. 

A police K-9 was called in to search the vehicle and track the suspect.  
The dog went East from the vehicle.

It is unclear if they were able to catch the suspect, because the police K-9 did not track long.

There was a RPD paddy wagon nearby. 

No other information is available.
