Details are minimal right now.   Sources said there is a person dead in the 1400 block of 8th ave. Emergency personnel are on scene. 

No other information at this time. 

Update: Sources said it is possibly medical related, and no foul play.








 

Rockford Scanner™: 2 Bad Accidents, Power Outages




Sources are reporting 2 bad accidents in the area.

  • Harrison ave and 8th st
  • Also at Alpine and 16th.

Both accidents are reporting injuries.  One of the scenes was reporting multiple injuries. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

There is a large power outage in the Winnebago County area. Unknown if this may have played a factor in either of these accidents. Remember if the lights are out, TO TREAT IT AS A 4 WAY STOP!

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Robbery In Rockford, Police Investigating




 

Sources are reporting a robbery in Rockford. 

It happened yesterday morning around 5 am in the 1100 block of 8th st.

We have been told the suspects brutally beat the victim and robbed them.

No suspect information at this time.  Reports are saying the victim had to seek medical attention. RPD has yet to release any information on this incident.

Sources are reporting an armed man in Rockford.

It happened near N Second st and Y blvd around 10:30 pm.

Suspect is armed with a handgun.

Described as a white male driving a Black 2010 Ford Fusion with a temp plate # 596U853 that comes back to an address in the 900 block of  8th ave in Rockford.

It happened just before noon today in the 1200 block of 8th st in Rockford.

Rockford Police have confirmed a home invasion call.

No suspect information at this time.

It happened just beofre 4 pm today in the area of the 2200 block of 8th st

Reports of a structure fire (Apartment complex) near this location and several units from the Rockford Fire Department are on scene.

Sources are reporting a rollover accident with injuries in Rockford.

It happened around 8:30 am this morning near 6th st and 8th ave on the East side.

At least 3 vehicles are reported to be involved.

Injuries were being reported. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

UPDATE: A suspect rammed a police car, the police fired shot at the suspect. Suspect was in a Blue 2001 Ford Focus with a plate of AP89823 comes back to an address at 2805 Edelweiss in Rockford. Sources said the alleged suspect is Alexandro Marquez. Hispanic male, medium build in his 20’s. Public records shows he has prior arrests for DUI and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and also possession of cannabis. Police are searching for this suspect.

A neighbor said there was a roadrage incident involving the off duty officer and the alleged suspect. A lot of screaming and fighting going on just prior to the shots being fired.


OFFICER’S VEHICLE RAMMED: On Sunday, January 20, 2019 shortly before 6:30 p.m., an off-duty Rockford Police officer was the victim of a vehicular assault in the area of 8th Street and 5th Avenue.

During the incident, the off-duty officer discharged their weapon at the suspect vehicle after it rammed the officer’s vehicle. The officer was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. There are no known injuries at this time. (Sources said one victim was shot, RPD is saying no shooting victim) The Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force was activated at the request of Chief Dan O’Shea and will investigate the incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.

Shooting is in the area of  8th st and 5th ave

Numerous police on scene, sounds like they might be searching for a suspect in the area.  No other information at this time.

Rockford Scanner™: Theft Suspect Stabs A Citizen in Rockford

On Wednesday 12/12/18 shortly after noon, Rockford Police responded to a local hospital in reference to a stabbing victim, an eighteen year old male. Officers learned the victim confronted a theft suspect in the area of 8th Street and 4th Avenue.

The victim was stabbed during the confrontation. The victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The suspect was described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, mid twenties, between 5’08”-5’11” tall, medium build, wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans. The suspect left the area on a bicycle.
