Sources are reporting a scene on the East side. 

Officers initiated a traffic stop.  The driver of the vehicle fled.  They were able to capture the passenger. The driver fled on foot from the area of 5th st and 4th ave. A police perimeter is being set up. Avoid the area.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Bomb In Rockford, Bomb Squad On The Way





Sources are reporting a possible bomb in Rockford.

It happened just before 5 pm in the area of 12th st and 5th ave in Rockford.

Reports of a suspicious package, with a possible bomb inside it.

Bomb Squad en route.  Still developing.

Update: Police said it was an empty package, but sources at the scene said the police told everyone to go in their houses and stay inside, even though police said it was an empty package. So it is unclear if the situation is still active or cleared.

Rockford Scanner™: Rollover Accident With Injuries On The East Side

UPDATE: Sources said the suspect is a white man in his 40’s with short hair. Police used a police k-9 and the suspects shirt to track the suspect, and was unable to locate the suspect.


Sources are reporting a bad rollover accident on the East side.

It happened around 9:30 am near 11th st and 5th ave.

A truck and a car have collided. The truck has rolled over.

Injuries were being reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Unconfirmed reports said one person took off from the scene on foot.

No other information at this time.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Scene On The East Side




Sources are reporting a scene in Rockford.

It happened approx 12:30 am near Harrison and S 5th st.

Several officers were on scene.  Sources said it appears it was a traffic stop and someone fled from the traffic stop. Police had a perimeter setup and the tow truck was towing at least 1 vehicle (had 2 vehicles on the truck, unknown if both were from this scene) It is not yet known if anyone was in custody.

When: Approx. 7:30 PM

Where:  1700 block of S 5th st,   in the alley

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE: A suspect rammed a police car, the police fired shot at the suspect. Suspect was in a Blue 2001 Ford Focus with a plate of AP89823 comes back to an address at 2805 Edelweiss in Rockford. Sources said the alleged suspect is Alexandro Marquez. Hispanic male, medium build in his 20’s. Public records shows he has prior arrests for DUI and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and also possession of cannabis. Police are searching for this suspect.

A neighbor said there was a roadrage incident involving the off duty officer and the alleged suspect. A lot of screaming and fighting going on just prior to the shots being fired.


OFFICER’S VEHICLE RAMMED: On Sunday, January 20, 2019 shortly before 6:30 p.m., an off-duty Rockford Police officer was the victim of a vehicular assault in the area of 8th Street and 5th Avenue.

During the incident, the off-duty officer discharged their weapon at the suspect vehicle after it rammed the officer’s vehicle. The officer was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. There are no known injuries at this time. (Sources said one victim was shot, RPD is saying no shooting victim) The Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force was activated at the request of Chief Dan O’Shea and will investigate the incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.

Numerous police on scene, sounds like they might be searching for a suspect in the area.  No other information at this time.

Rockford Scanner™: Two People Shot In A Rockford Housing Complex

From the RPD:

On January 5th, 2019 at 2:12 AM Rockford Police Officers responded to 1400 Birch Ct. for a shooting.  Once on scene Officers located a 25 year old male and a 36 year old male suffering from non life threatening gun shot wounds.  Both male victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

During the investigation it was learned that a white Pontiac Grand Prix with tinted windows may be the suspect vehicle.

This is an on-going investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Rockford Police at 815-966-2900, or Rockford Area Crime Stoppers (815) 963-7867.


Around 2:10 am this morning, sources are reporting two people were shot in the Blackhawk Housing complex.

It happened in the 1400 block of Birch ct in Rockford.

Two shooting victims.

One of the victims was shot approx. 6 times.

One of the victims was shot in the head.

No suspect information at this time.

Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Victim Arrived At A Local E.R., Police Investigating

On Saturday, December 8. 2018 at 6:35 p.m. Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to a local hospital reference a walk in shooting victim. Officers met with the victim who stated he was in the 1200 block of S. 5th St. when he was shot. Suspect fled unknown direction. Victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Suspect – Black Male, dark clothing, 5′ 9″, medium build, dark clothing.
