Forensic Evidence Leads to Sex Assault Arrest

Rockford, Ill. On Monday, July 25, 2011, patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to an apartment in the 300 block of North Church Street in reference to a sexual assault investigation.

When they arrived, officers learned that an adult female victim had been sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance whom she knew only by a nickname.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 20’s 5’7″ tall with a medium build. At the time of the incident, detectives conducted a follow-up investigation, but were never able to identify the suspect.

In April 2018, a possible suspect was identified following the result of a forensic evidence recovered during the investigation. Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit followed up on the lead and were able to identify the suspect as Antoine Hill.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the results of the investigation and authorized charges against Hill. Hill was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Antoine Hill, 31, Rockford: Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault with a Weapon (2 counts)
Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault with Bodily Harm (2 counts)
Criminal Sexual Assault (2 counts)
Unlawful Restraint
Kidnapping
Aggravated Battery
Aggravated Assault

Hill was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a $500,000 bond. The charges against Hill are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
