Just before 4 pm today, several emergency personnel were on scene of a rollover accident scene.

 

The rollover accident happened on I-90 near mile marker 11 1/2.  That is North of E Riverside.  In the Northbound lanes of traffic.

There is a truck that has rolled over onto it’s side.

Injuries were reported.  We do not yet know on the severity of the injuries.

Traffic is backed up in the area. Expect long traffic delays.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Police spotted a stolen Blue Camry at the Fasmart on N Second st in Roscoe.

Neighbor had her kids in the front yard when the car drove through the yard almost hitting them

Rock Energy Cooperative is reporting a power outage across Rockton and Roscoe area that is affecting around 1,283 costumers or around 32.5%.

They said crews have been notified, but the cause is unknown at this time. There is no estimated time on when it will be restored.

Sources are reporting a couple of violent crimes that happened in Rockford area today.  

  • Around 7:30 am there was an “In Progress Property: Home invasion, etc…” near the 300 block of Mclain ave
  • Around 12:30 pm today there was an “In Progress Person: Shooting, Stabbing, etc…”  in the 1400 block of Andrews 
  • Shots rang out in the area of the 2400 block of New Haven ct around 3 pm today. 
  • An attempted armed robbery in the 500 block of E Jefferson around 1:30 pm

Rockford Scanner™: It was once again a violent night in Rockford last night.  At least two shooting victims, several shots fired and several robberies



 

It was once again a violent night in Rockford area last night. 

At least two shooting victims, several shots fired and several robberies. 

A shooting victim at Mercy Hospital. Unknown if it happened at the hospital or the victim was brought there.
The shooting victim was at the Mercy Hospital around 12:40 am. 

Another shooting victim in the 2400 block of N Bell School rd 

Numerous shots fired incidents: 

  • Main and Whitman
  • Westgate Parkway 
  • Cameron ave
  • Mcfarland rd
  • Crosby st
  • Huffman blvd
  • Acorn st
  • N Main 
  •  5th ave

Robberies at the following locations: 

  • Sun Valley Terrace
  • Westgate Parkway
  • Mcfarland
  • N Court 
  • Vincent ave

No suspect information on any of these violent crimes, due to the encryption.

It is safe to assume the suspects got away and are out committing more violent crimes……


 

 

Update: After posting this, the RPD did release the following:
On Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at approximately 7:21 p.m. Rockford Police responded to the area of 1600 5th Ave. for several calls of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers discovered an outbuilding to a residence which had been struck by gunfire while citizens were nearby. No one was struck by gunfire and no injuries were reported.

On 08/22/18 between 9am to about 2pm the south bound lanes of Main St will be closed between Hodges Run and Chestnut due to scheduled construction.

If you are traveling south bound on Main St please follow the detour signs as follows:
left (east bound) on Hodges Run
right (south bound) on 2nd St
right (west bound) on Chestnut St
left (south bound) on Main St

North bound traffic on Main St will not be affected.
