UPDATE:

On 11-12-18 at 8:09 hours Officers responded to Walgreens, 2525 S. Alpine Rd., in reference to an armed robbery to the business. The suspect entered the store and approached the cashier. He displayed a knife and demanded money. The suspect then took an undetermined amount of money and fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, 175 pounds, wearing a black coat and darker pants with a black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers.

Rockford Scanner®: Double Shooting Victim Scene in Rockford, CPR Being Performed


 

RPD:

On 11/11/18 at 0359 hours Rockford Police Officers responded to the 900 block of N. Church St for a shooting victim. It was learned that the victim met the suspects in the area to sell them a cell phone.  The victim entered the suspect’s vehicle where he handed them the cell phone.  One suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and the victim fought the suspect.  During the fight the victim was shot.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects were described as black males, in their 20’s, 5’10”- 6’, one was armed with a black handgun. The suspect vehicle was described as a newer black sedan.

Sources are reporting another shooting victim in Rockford.

Last night was a bloody violent night in Rockford once again.

This shooting scene happened in the 900 block of Church  in Rockford.

It happened around 4 am this morning.

At least one person was confirmed shot, not yet known on the severity of the injuries. No suspect information, due to the police encryption.

Victim speaks out:

From the victim: “I’m home now. I have a concussion, scraped arm. I lost both my shoes. My right foot is banged up. Ripped toenails, broken toes and a sprained foot. He had knocked me over on my back .I was drugged from the back of my car to through the parking lot towards to road . I’m very grateful to be alive. I’m still in shock. It happened all so fast”


Update from RPD: 

On 11/10/18 around 8:50pm Rockford Police Officers responded to Walgreens in the 3300 block of N. Main St. for an attempted strong arm robbery. The victim, who was parked in the parking lot, was loading her groceries into the trunk of her vehicle when the suspect ran toward her and attempted to grab her purse from her shoulder causing the victim fall to the ground.  The suspect did not get any property from the victim.  The suspect fled the area in a small vehicle.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid 20’s.

Local police are encrypted and have yet to release information on these robberies.

But a source told us the suspects in this robbery are described as: Last seen in a white ford escort, male wearing an army green hoodie, passenger suspect is white male approx 35 years old, wearing a grey hoodie, tan jacket, last seen northbound


Another robbery in Rockford.

This one happened at the Walgreens on N Main.

Suspect physically battered/pushed the female victim to the ground during the robbery. The victim is injured and needs medical attention.

Suspect description is unknown, due to the encryption.

Suspect fled the scene on foot

UPDATE: An employee said the suspect is described as a White male, approx 6 foot tall, wearing a black jacket and jeans.


A few sources have reported seeing many police at 11th street and Sandy Hollow Rd at the Walgreens.

Rockford Scanner®: Man In A Halloween Mask Just Robbed A Rockford Store

On Thursday November 8th at 9:00pm, Rockford Officers responded to the Tobacco Outlet located at 3219 N. Main St in reference to an armed robbery.  The suspect was armed with a long gun and demanded money from the clerk whom complied.  The suspect fled eastbound on foot from the business.  There was a customer exiting the business as the suspect entered into it.  No injuries were reported.

Around 9 pm tonight sources were reporting an armed robbery to a Rockford business.

A tobacco store in the 3200 block of N Main was robbed at gunpoint.

A man wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a shotgun, robbed the store then fled on foot.

On 11/7/2018 at 01:45 am officers responded to 5 Points Grocery and Beverage at 600 W Milwaukee St for an armed robbery. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded currency from the clerk. The suspect stole items from the convenience store and currency. The person then fled from the business leaving items behind, which aided in the identification of the suspect. Officers were able to determine the suspect was Carlos Ford.

On 11/7/2018 at 04:19 am officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of N Sumac. The response was to a call of a hostage situation.

The suspect in this second call was determined to be Carlos Ford. Officers made contact with Ford and a female when they exited the residence. Ford resisted arrest, but was able to be taken into custody.

One officer did sustain a minor injury while taking Ford into custody. There is still additional information being followed up on in regards to this investigation.

UPDATE:

25-year-old Damonte Turner, was arrested during this incident.

The suspects fled from police when they initiated a traffic stop.  Suspects stopped their vehicle in the area of Charles and 18th.  They fled on foot.

The police K-9 was able to successfully bite and hold the suspect, while officers were able to arrest them.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for a dog bite.

Edit: Sources said the man was wanted for several robberies in the area.  RPD is saying he was a “suspicious person” and not related to the armed robberies.

 


Hailey L. is reporting:

“I just was caught in a police chase. on charles right before sam’s pizza. probably 10 squad suv’s rolled up and police were sprinting toward the one spirit place. very insane. a bunch of yelling and running but i couldn’t see any person… again this was on Charles in the construction zone between one spirit and sam’s”

We have had reports that a nearby business was robbed. Another source is reporting a police chase.  So it is not yet clear what happened, due to the police encryption. We will post updates as they become available

Shortly before 12:30 pm, Rockford Police responded to a hold up alarm at Northwest Bank (3106 N. Rockton). Upon arrival, learned it was a valid robbery. 2 suspects entered the bank and robbed it. No one was hurt. RPD detectives and FBI agents are investigating


Sources are reporting around 12:20 pm today, a bank was robbed in Rockford.

Details are minimal due to the encryption.

A Northwest Bank at 3106 N Rockton ave  was robbed

2 Black Males wearing hoodies.

On 11-3-18 at 8:41pm officers responded to 1026 McKnight Circle for an Armed Robbery To Citizen. The victim advised she was retrieving groceries from her vehicle when she was approached from behind by a suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took the victim’s purse and an undisclosed amount of USC and fled the area on foot.

The suspect was described as an unknown race male, 5’6″ tall, 150 pounds, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, and was armed with a handgun. The victim was not injured during this incident. On 11/03/18 at 12:41 AM Officers responded to 1609 S. Alpine Road in reference to an armed robbery to citizen. The victim was in the parking lot walking to his car when he was approached by a vehicle. A suspect exited the vehicle, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the victim. The suspect obtained an undetermined amount of USC from the victim and fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, 5’07” tall, 150 pounds, wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, and black jeans. The victim was not injured during the incident. Another violent day in the city of Rockford and surrounding areas.

Sources told us about a shooting victim at Swedish American Hospital. Unknown if the shooting took place at the hospital or the victim was shot at a different location and then transported there.

Sources also told us about the Advanced Auto on Auburn that was robbed.

We tried to get information from the police, they said “No comment”

No suspect information on any of these calls. Safe to assume none have been captured and are still roaming the area.

But we can confirm these via the police call logs.


UPDATE from the RPD:

On Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 7:12pm, Rockford Officers responded to Advance Auto Parts located at 3019 Auburn St in reference to an aggravated robbery.  The suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded money from the clerk whom complied.  The suspect fled out to the parking lot, got into a vehicle, and drove away eastbound on Auburn St.  There were customers inside of the business during the incident but no injuries were reported.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Arrested After Allegedly Robbing A Local Business

ROBBERY ARREST: A Rockford man faces charges after robbing a business. On Tuesday, October 23, 2018 shortly after 2:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Dollar General (1015 Charles Street).

Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect entered the store and handed a note to the cashier, which demanded money and implied he was armed. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was hurt.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident and identified the suspect as 34-year-old Donald Thompson. As a result, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the below listed charges and a warrant was obtained. Thompson was taken into custody.

Thompson was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Thompson are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court

RPD:  Rockford Police say they were on patrol in the 200 block of South 6th Street on Saturday when they found a 25-year-old man lying in the grass, who had been beaten and robbed by a group of seven men.

According to police, around 5 p.m. officers spotted the victim lying in the grass just south of 1st Avenue.

The victim told officers that he had been walking in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue when seven men approached him and demanded his belongings. They then beat and robbed him.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Descriptions of the assailants were not given.

The first scene was near the 2000 block of S Perryville. around 3:40 pm.
Police said this was an “In Progress Person”  In the past police have labeled shootings, stabbings, robberies, kidnappings, deaths; as these types of calls.

The second scene was near the 5300 block of Northrock around 10 pm. Police said that there was an aggravated battery.

The third scene is near the 3300 block of Bildahl around 7:45 pm.
Police said this was an “In Progress Person”  In the past police have labeled shootings, stabbings, robberies, kidnappings, deaths; as these types of calls. \

The fourth scene was in the 1500 block of Benton around 5 pm. Police said this was a weapons violation.

No suspect in any of these scenes, due to the encryption.
