It happened around 2:30 am in 1400 block of N Main.

RPD has confirmed a carjacking, but did not provide any other details.


Rockford Scanner™: 3 Suspects Commit An Armed Robbery in Rockford, Get Away

Sources are reporting an armed robbery in Rockford.

It happened in the 1100 block of N Avon around 8 PM.

Suspects are 3 black males approx. 15 years old.  One of them had on a black mask and blue jeans. 2nd one had on a blue shirt and blue jeans. 3rd one had on a green shirt and blue jeans.

Aggravated vehicular hijacking at a Rockford fitness center

On Tuesday, March 19, 2019 approximately 9 PM the Rockford police were dispatched to peak fitness at 4304 E. State St. in reference to an aggravated vehicular hijacking.

When the officers arrived on scene they learned the 20-year-old male victim was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot when he was approached by a male suspect armed with a handgun.

The suspect demanded the victim to get out of his vehicle and the victim complied and then the suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Officers located the vehicle a short time later near Preston and Central and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect fled from the officers at a high rate of speed. The suspect then dumped the vehicle near Loomis and South Main. That is near the laundromat on South Main.

A K-9 unit was able to track the suspect and located him hiding in the 1200 block of S. Church St.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Javari Conley of Rockford. He has been arrested for multiple charges that include aggravated vehicle or hijacking, aggravated unlawful use of the weapon, aggravated fleeing to elude, driving while license suspended, no FOID.

He was lodged in the Winnebago County jail. The charges against him are merely accusations he is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


Rockford Scanner™: Rockford business robbed, Police arrested the suspect a short time later

On Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at approximately 4 PM the Rockford police responded to the Dollar Tree at 526 E. Jefferson St. in reference to an armed robbery.

When the Rockford Police Department arrived the officers learn the suspect approached the cashier and applied he had a weapon and demanded cash. The suspect then fled with a small amount of money.

Officers located the man a short distance away walking east bound on Jefferson and took him into custody.

32 years old Charles Hill  from Rockford was arrested for aggravated robbery and retail theft. He was lodged in the Winnebago County jail. The charges against him are merely accusations he is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


Rockford Scanner™: Victim injured during an armed robbery in downtown Rockford


Around 4 PM today emergency personnel or responded to the 500 block of Jefferson Street in downtown Rockford.

Initial reports were saying a man was down near this location and injured.

Rockford Police Department are confirming an armed robbery.
But they would not confirm the injuries at this time.

Sources nearby sent us a photo of a man being handcuffed in the Dollar Tree Parking lot. It is not yet confirmed if this is related to the armed robbery or not.


Rockford Scanner™: ISP Officer Shot, Suspect Dead After A Carjacking & Exchange Of Gunfire


The following preliminary information is being release by the Illinois State Police.

Collinsville, IL – On Saturday, March 16, 2019, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the Illinois State Police (ISP) received information from the Glen Carbon Police Department regarding an armed carjacking. This incident took place in the area of the Sam’s Club in Glen Carbon where shots were fired by the suspect.

An ISP Trooper responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 55. The Trooper attempted to stop the suspect vehicle and a pursuit ensued into the City of Staunton, returning back toward Interstate 55.

The suspect vehicle, while still being pursued by the ISP Trooper and Staunton Police Department ran off the roadway and got stuck in the median near the intersection of Staunton Road and Interstate 55. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

The ISP Trooper initiated a foot pursuit of the suspect who brandished a handgun and fired at the Trooper. The Trooper returned fire, striking the suspect, fatally wounding him.

The suspect had no identification on his person and remains unidentified at this time. A handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting.

The ISP Trooper suffered gunshot wounds and has been transported to a regional hospital where his injuries are reported to be non-life threatening. The Trooper is 36 years old and is an 11 year veteran of the Illinois State Police.

The carjacking incident that took place near the Glen Carbon Sam’s Club is being investigated by the Glen Carbon Police Department and additional information regarding that incident will be available from them.

A full investigation has been launched by the Illinois State Police Division of Internal Investigation. No additional information is available at this time. Once additional information is available, it will be provided via press release.

UPDATE: The Illinois State Police (ISP) confirm the identity of the suspect involved in yesterday’s shooting on Interstate 55 near Staunton Road. The suspect has been identified as Billy L. Walker Jr., a 53 year old male of Hillsboro, Missouri. The Macoupin County Coroner confirms the official time of death for Walker was 4:45 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019.

Prior to the incident in Glen Carbon, Walker was discovered to have an outstanding felony warrant for probation violation resulting from weapons offenses. Walker was considered armed and dangerous.

The ISP Trooper involved in the shooting incident is recovering in a regional hospital and is expected to return to duty. Queries for additional information regarding the original incident in Glen Carbon should continue to be directed to Glen Carbon Police Department. No additional information will be released from the Illinois State Police regarding this incident.


Rockford Scanner™: Armed Robbery At A Rockford Business, Suspect Carjacks A Vehicle To Getaway


Update: The vehicle was located in the 3100 block of North Rockton Avenue in the parking lot of Schnucks. The suspect is still on the loose.

Sources are reporting an armed robbery and carjacking in Rockford.

It happened at the Mobil Gas Station near 4962 20th St.
That is near Samuelson and 20th.

Suspect is a black male in his late teens, 5’10, with facial hair and wearing a gray hoody. Armed with a black pistol.  He stole a 2012 dark Blue 4  door Honda Civic. Last seen headed towards Samuelson.

It is not yet known if the robbery was to the business, or to a citizen at the business. Police have yet to release any information.

Rockford Scanner™: Robbery WIth Injuries in Rockford, Still Developing

Sources are reporting a robbery with injuries in Rockford.

It happened around 11 am in the area of S Main and Indiana.

Sources said a man was robbed and injured. They said it appears there is a lot of blood coming from the victim, and he may have been stabbed or shot.

At the time of writing this, they said emergency personnel were not yet on scene.

No suspect information at this time.

Sources said there is a vehicle that hit a tree nearby, it is not yet known if it is related to this robbery call.
