Rockford Scanner™: Pedestrian Hit By A Vehicle in Rockford

Update: We have been told it was a fatal. So we went to work the scene.

We asked the officer on scene if it was a fatal. And he just said “it is a current investigation and couldn’t speak” so he did not confirm nor deny if it was a fatal.

With that being said, I have personally worked numerous fatal scenes over the years, and this did not appear to be a fatal accident scene. (Only a few officers, vehicles driving through where the accident scene happened at, etc…)

We were told this was a hit and run.  RPD officer wouldn’t confirm nor deny that either. Saying “it is a current investigation and couldn’t speak” so he did not confirm nor deny if it was a hit & run.  When I worked the scene, I only saw police officers. I did not see any other vehicles. So this is possibly true. But again, RPD wouldn’t confirm nor deny anything.
