WANTED FOR MURDER: On Sunday, November 11, 2018, shortly before 1:00 a.m. patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station, 4315 Auburn Street. During the course of the investigation, officers located a 37-year-old female shooting victim, Jennifer Jones, who died as a result of her injuries. A second gunshot victim, a 25-year-old male, was also located and treated at a local hospital.

Detectives and officers of the Rockford Police Department have been conducting an on-going investigation. The facts of the case were reviewed with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. A $10 million bond arrest warrant has been issued for 26-year-old Rockford resident Marquell Longs on the below listed charges.

Marquell Longs, 26, Rockford: First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon

The charges against Longs are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

From the RPD:

MURDER INVESTIGATION: On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 shortly after 9:30 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Taco Bell (2602 Auburn Street) in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old male and a 37-year-old female victim in a vehicle in the parking lot. Both were transported to a local hospital where the male was pronounced deceased. His identity is not being released at this time pending family notification. The female’s injuries are considered serious, but non-life-threatening. At this time, the incident does not appear to be random.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit are conducting a follow-up investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Rockford Police at 815-966-2900. No further details are available at this time.

It happened at Taco Bell in the 2600 block of Auburn st

One of the victims has life threatening injuries, doing CPR on the victim.  Unknown on the other victims condition.

Update:  One of the victims is a female that was shot in the stomach area. The other is a male shot in the lower right region, possibly the hip.

Update November 14th 2018

 


UPDATE: On 11/11/2018, at around 11:49 AM, Officers from the Rockford Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of W State Street(Rock River) in regards to a possible body in the river.  Upon arrival officers located a deceased male, partially in the river on the west bank.   The body was recovered from the river by members of the Rockford Fire Department and a death investigation is currently being conducted.  No signs of traumatic injury were located on male and his cause of death will be determined by the Winnebago County Coroners Office. The identity of the male will be released at a later time after his next of kin are located and notified.


Early this afternoon emergency personnel recovered a body from the Rock River.

Details are minimal right now.

The only information we have is a body has been recovered from the Rock River near the downtown area.

When they arrived, officers located a 37-year-old female shooting victim. She was transported to a local hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

During the on-scene investigation, a second victim, a 25-year-old male, arrived at a local hospital also suffering from gunshot wounds sustained during the same incident. The male is in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time pending notification of family members.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department are conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police Department 815-966-2900 or Crime Stoppers 815-963-7867.


Around 1 am this morning, several emergency personnel were on scene of a double shooting victim scene in Rockford.

Two people have been shot in the 4300 block of Auburn st in Rockford. This is near the Citgo gas station near Auburn Manor

At least one victim has life threatening injuries and CPR is being performed.

The 2nd victim self transported to a local ER.

No suspect information, due to the encryption

UPDATE:

On Friday November 9, 2018 at 9:14pm, Rockford Officers responded to W. State St & Johnston Ave in reference to shots fired and a car crash.  Through further investigation, Officers learned that the vehicle that crashed was being chased by a dark colored 2-door Ford Mustang.  Gunfire was believed to be exchanged between both vehicles.  A male passenger from the crashed car sustained minor injuries.  It was unclear if his injuries occurred from the gunfire or car crash.  A utility pole was damaged at the scene of the crash.  Barricades were placed to close the curb lane in the area of W. State St & Day Ave until ComEd is able to repair the damaged pole.

This is an on-going investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department at (815) 966-2900 or Rockford Area Crime Stoppers (815) 963-7867.


W State near the scene is shut down. Avoid the area! From Way-Lo all the way down to Johnston.   There was a chase, shots were fired during the chase.  A vehicle crashed into 2 utility poles.


Around 9:20 pm tonight, emergency personnel were responding to a shooting victim, vehicle on fire at the shooting scene.

It happened in the 200 block of N Johnston

Reports of at least one person shot.  Sounds like it is life threatening. The police took the victim via their squad car to the nearby hospital.

A pole is snapped in half near State and Day.

No suspect information, due to the police encryption

Sources are saying this was a  chase with shots fired that ended up  with a shooting victim.  We can not confirm this, due to the encryption.

“The body that was found, was found at Rick’s ribs off of Riverside and Pleasant Drive.patrons of the establishment noticed a gentleman hunched over in his vehicle. After knocking on the window and getting no response the patrons opened the door and tried to shake the gentleman. With no response Rick the owner of the restaurant and one of the patrons Joe Sanchez pulled the gentleman out of the vehicle and he was laid upon A quilt on the ground. One of the female patrons who was in the medical field started chest compressions as the police were called by the establishment’s cashier. Once the police were on site after about a  very short wait, they took over chest compressions and also started more advanced resuscitation tactics. The gentleman was taken by ambulance to Rockford Memorial Hospital.”

Early this afternoon, sources were reporting a dead body near E Riverside and Pleasant ave.

Reports of a dead man near the SW part of this intersection.

Emergency personnel were trying to revive the man by doing CPR.

It is not yet known, if they were able to resuscitate the victim.

Unknown on the cause.

Rockford Scanner®: Local Man Arrested on 19 Felony Charges After A Double Fatal Accident

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sycamore man on nineteen felony charges resulting from a double fatality accident which occurred on March 26, 2018.

Corey Lee, 30 years old of Sycamore, Illinois was charged with three counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Cannabis – Accident Resulting in Death (Class 2 Felony), two counts of On Duty and Under the Influence of Cannabis – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Reckless Homicide (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Violation of Physical Qualifications – On Duty and Under the Influence of Cannabis – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Violation of Physical Qualifications – No Medical Certification – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Operating While Fatigued – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Violation of Inspection Requirements – Causing Death (Class 3 Felony), one count of Violation of Physical Qualifications – On Duty and Under the Influence of Cannabis (Class 4 Felony), one count of Violation of Physical Qualifications – No Medical Certification (Class 3 Felony), one count of Operating While Fatigued (Class 4 Felony) and one count of Violation of Inspection Requirements (Class 3 Felony). Lee was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $250,000.00 (10%) bond.

On March 26, 2018 at approximately 6:30 am, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Stone Quarry Road and Bloods Point Road in rural Boone County. The investigation revealed that Cory Lee, who was driving westbound on Bloods Point Road in a 2015 Ford Commercial Truck, failed to stop at a stop sign. Lee’s vehicle entered the intersection striking a 2004 Dodge Dakota, which was traveling southbound on Stone Quarry Road. The driver of the Dodge Dakota, Pedro Pasillas Delgado, 22 years old, and his father, Pedro Pasillas Sanchez, 52 years old, were both killed.

The arrest of Lee came after a seven month investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was completed and turned over to the Boone County States Attorney’s Office. On November 1, 2018, a Boone County Grand Jury indicted Lee on the nineteen felony charges.

The class 2 felony is punishable by six (6) to twenty-eight (28) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. A class 3 felony is punishable by two (2) to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. A class 4 felony is punishable by one (1) to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Rockford Scanner™: Pedestrian Hit By A Van Near Beloit, Life Threatening Injuries

The City of Beloit Police Department is investigating a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident that occurred at 6:33 p.m. Monday on Pleasant Street just south of Portland Avenue.

The pedestrian was walking in the roadway on Pleasant Street south of the crosswalk when he was hit by a van.

The accident remains under investigation.

The pedestrian is a 49-year-old Beloit male who was transported to Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The identity of the pedestrian and the driver will not be released at this time.

The northbound lane on Pleasant Street will remain closed during the investigation. The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with accident reconstruction.

UPDATE:  The victim has been identified as April Guthrie, age 47 of Beloit.

The City of Beloit Police Department is investigating a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident that occurred at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Oak Street at 4:53 p.m. Sunday.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old Beloit woman, was walking a dog across the street when she was struck by a pickup truck. The woman was transported by the Beloit Fire Department to Beloit Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries.

The dog was transported to Veterinarian Emergency Services with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 56-year-old Verona man, is fully cooperating with authorities. While the accident remains under investigation, it does not appear that the driver was at fault.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with the accident reconstruction.

The Beloit Police Department is not identifying the pedestrian or the driver at this time. No one is available for interviews Sunday night.

UPDATE: This is a confirmed fatal accident. A box truck hit a woman approx. 53 years old. The woman has passed away. RPD are investigating. 11th st will be closed for several hours.

On Thursday, November 1, 2018 shortly after 7:30 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 2900 block of 11th Street for an accident involving a pedestrian and a box truck. The 53-year-old female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity is not being released at this time. The driver of the truck stayed on scene and was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation, and traffic reconstructionists from the Rockford Police Department have been called in to process the scene. Motorists are urged to avoid the area for the next several hours. No further details are available at this time.

Sources reporting the alleged suspect is a white male with a white beard. Police have yet to provide suspect information.


MURDER INVESTIGATION: On Sunday, October 28, 2018, shortly before 9:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers were called to a residence in the 3500 block of Fawnridge Drive in reference to a fight.

Upon arrival, officers located the resident, a 61-year-old male, suffering from stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. His name is not being released at this time.

Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation to the murder. No further details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Rockford Police Department at 815-966-2900

Rockford Scanner™: Man Convicted On Several Charges After Shooting A Man In Rockford

FOUND GUILTY: A jury convicted Perriyon King of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Mob Action charges. On April 5, 2017 Rockford Police officers responded to the area North Longwood/Rural Street for shots fired. A vehicle was hit by the gunfire, injuring the 60-year-old driver, Richard Griffin. Griffin is still being treated for his injuries. Detectives learned King was firing shots at another vehicle when Griffin’s vehicle was struck. King will be sentenced in January.

There was a serious stabbing incident in Rockford.

While we were at the stabbing scene, several officers left the stabbing scene in a hurry, headed northbound on N Main.

The police detained a person at the Mobil station just North of the stabbing scene. (As you can see in the video above)

At the time of writing this, all we can confirm is several police officers have taken one person into custody at the Mobil station on  N Main, just south of the wreck-it-round-a-bout. (Just North of the stabbing scene)

We tried to talk to the officers and get information after they quickly whisked the person away in the transport van, but police refused to talk to us.

So at this time, it is not yet known if this is the suspect in the stabbing or if this is a different incident.

He is charged with aggravated battery and has no bond. His next court date is today at 1:30 pm

  • Location: 935 N. Main St #404 Rockford, IL

On Monday 10/22/2018 at 9:18 pm, Rockford Police responded to 935 N. Main St #404 in reference to an aggravated battery involving a knife.  It was learned that the tenant was inside of his apartment with a male acquaintance.  An argument ensued and a knife was involved.  The tenant was transported to a local hospital.  The male acquaintance was located and interviewed.  This is an on-going investigation.

The victim had an argument with the suspect .During the argument, a knife  was pulled and the victim was stabbed in the chest.

Police located the alleged suspect (Possibly the man in the link above, but not confirmed) and has interviewed the man. No charges have been filed as of yet. RPD are investigating.

No update on the victims condition.

UPDATE:

Winnebago County Coroner has identified the body as 58-year-old Randy Wilder. The coroner said he was homeless but from the Rockford area. Autopsy is pending and toxicology will take around 3 weeks.


 


Around 10 am several emergency personnel were responding to a body found in Rockford.
