Tragic News: A Local Police Officer Has Passed Away From Covid Complications

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that Chief Andre Sayles informs you of the Monday, Nov. 15, passing of Officer Daniel J. Daly, age 48, due to complications from COVID-19.

Officer Daly was sworn-in as a City of Beloit Police Officer on March 3, 1997.

Officer Daly was a dedicated and valued member of our department.

Dan was a member of our Field Training Officer cadre.
Officer Daly was awarded a City of Beloit Police
Department officer spotlight in 2020.

Officer Daly will be escorted from the hospital to the funeral home by a law enforcement procession and Officers will stand vigil by his side until the services are complete.
Officer Daly is survived by his wife and two children.

“Our entire Beloit Police Department family mourns the passing of Officer Dan Daly,” said Chief Sayles. “Our love and condolences go out to Dan’s wife and children and all those with whom he served. We, as a police department family will do everything possible to continue to provide support and comfort to Dan’s family. Dan will be missed by everyone here.”

Funeral arrangements with Law Enforcement Honors are pending and out of respect for the family no additional information is available at this time.




 

Beloit Police Officer Escorted to Funeral Home

ROCKFORD, Ill. – Today, Monday, November 15, 2021, Beloit Police Officer Daniel Daly, 48, died
from complications from COVID-19. Daly became a Beloit Police Officer on March 3rd, 1997.
“Our entire Beloit Police Department family mourns the passing of Officer Dan Daly,” said Beloit
Police Chief Andre Sayles. “Our love and condolences go out to Dan’s wife and children and all
those with whom he served. We, as a police department family will do everything possible to
continue to provide support and comfort to Dan’s family. Dan will be missed by everyone here.”

Rockford Police and other local law enforcement agencies will escort Officer Daly from the
hospital to the funeral home and officers will stand vigil by his side until the services are
complete.

The law enforcement procession will start at 6:00pm from Swedish American’s
Renaissance Pavilion and will head north on 9th Street to N. 2nd Street, continuing on N. 2nd Street
to Forest Hills and then on to 173 to the I-90 interchange. The escort will continue north to
Shopiere Road to Daley Murphy Wisch on Cranston Road.

Funeral arrangements with Law Enforcement Honors are pending and out of respect for the
family, no additional information is available at this time.
