First and Foremost: Thank you RPD for the transparency:



On Sunday, September 12, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue for a report of a shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a 35-year-old male, who advised that as he was inside a vehicle in the driveway, he was shot in the groin.

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

The suspect is known to the victim and further details will follow when available

  • All parties involved are innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law.
