Rockford Scanner™: Dangerous Situation In Rockford, Several Officers & SWAT On Scene

Rockford Police released the following statement: Earlier this afternoon, detectives and members of the RPD SWAT team conducted a warrant service in the 200 block of Euclid as part of ongoing investigation. More details will be released when available.


Sources are reporting a dangerous scene. It happened this afternoon near the 200 block Euclid Ave. (Far west)

Several police officers, including the SWAT team are on scene.

Reports of 2 people detained, and a standoff with a 3rd subject.

Officers have their guns drawn, and are trying to peacefully negotiate with the subject.

It is unknown why the police went there originally.

Police have yet to release information








 

Rockford Scanner™: Scene Near The Rolling Green Area




We sat on this story to see if the school district, Rolling Green neighborhood, or the RPD would release any information on this incident. Almost 6 hours later, still not a peep from any of them on this incident.

Sources are reporting a scene near the Rolling Green Elementary School this morning. 

RPD were investigating a possible armed subject near the school.
RPD call log shows it as a suspicious person incident.

A white male in his 50’s wearing a blue shirt,  they thought might have been armed with a gun.  The man was last seen near Louisiana.

 

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Pedestrian Struck By A Vehicle, Injuries Reported




 

Sources are reporting a pedestrian that has been hit by a vehicle in Rockford.  It happened just before 6 am this morning near Alpine and E State st. 

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near this location.

The pedestrian is injured.  It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

You may want to avoid the area for awhile.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

It happened near N Rockton ave and Maple around 10 pm. 

Non life threatening injuries were being reported.

Rockford Scanner™: Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Grand Jury has returned an indictment against two men for a shooting in Rockford




 

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Grand Jury has returned an indictment against two men for a shooting in Rockford over the summer.

On July 3rd, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Albert Avenue and School Street in regards to a shooting. It was later determined that the incident took place at 2011 School Street. Upon arrival, Officers located a female victim inside, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Rockford hospital for her injuries and survived.

Detectives conducted a follow up investigation and Richard E. Bloxton (DOB: 5/31/1988) and Wesley K. Hall, Jr. (DOB: 10/7/1987) were developed as suspects.

The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and charges were authorized. Recently, Bloxton was indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury for Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon and Resisting a Peace Officer. Hall was indicted for Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Unlawful Use Possession by a Felon is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a special sentence of 3-14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Reckless Discharge of a Firearm is a Class 4 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 1-3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a year of Mandatory Supervised Release. The defendants are eligible for an extended sentence of 1-6 years in the Department of Corrections for this offense.

Resisting a Peace Officer is a Class A Misdemeanor that is punishable by a sentence of either probation or up to one year in the Winnebago County Jail.

Currently, (At the time of posting this) there are warrants out for both Bloxton and Hall. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police Department at (779) 500-6551 or Crime Stoppers (815) 963-7867

The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Possible Fire At A Local Business




 

Just after 9:30 pm tonight several units from the Rockford Fire Department were responding to a possible fire at a local business. 

It happened at the Little Ceasers on 11th st. 

The employees are reporting a lot of smoke, but no flames. 

This is inside the strip mall, so it is unknown if the fire/smoke is coming from another business, or from actually inside the Little Ceasers. 

Employees are evacuating. Still developing 

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Police Investigating Another Shooting Victim in Rockford

On Wednesday, September 18, 2019 just after 11:30 PM Rockford Police Officers responded to the area of 900 13th Street in reference to shots fired. Officers located a parked vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. A male self transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The injury was determined to be non-life threatening. No other injuries were reported.

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Police Investigating Another Shooting Incident




Note: This shooting incident was not in the RPD call logs

On Thursday, September 19th, 2019 at 0329 hours Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to 300 Albert Ave. reference numerous shots fired.

One occupied residence was struck by gunfire. One vacant residence and an unoccupied vehicle were struck as well. No injuries were reported.

A red Chevy was seen fleeing the area after the shots were fired.

CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Suspect Steals A Donation Box From A Local Business




 

Sources sent us this video of a suspect that allegedly stole a donation box from a business on S Main in Rockford. 

The donation box was for someone who is sick.

This suspect walked off with the box and all the donations for the sick person in it.  If you recognize this suspect, call the RPD or you can contact us and we will relay your tip to the police anonymously for you.

Sources are reporting a vehicle on fire. 

It happened on W State st, west of Springfield.

It happened around 7 pm.

No injuries were being reported.

Units on scene are asking for more units to assist.
