Suspects Flee From Police With 2 Young Children In The Vehicle




On Wednesday November 4th, 2020, the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of a 24 year old Addison man and a 21 year old Norridge woman for multiple charges. The Metro Narcotics Unit was assisted by members of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration Rockford office and Belvidere PD patrol officers.

Investigators attempted to make contact with Brian J. David (24) in the 2200 block of Westfield Lane at which time he fled in a vehicle driven by Meghan R. Hodge (21).

The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Broadview Ave and Kristine Drive in Belvidere.

Two young children were located in the vehicle and were unharmed.

During the investigation more than 100 grams of cocaine was recovered and a vehicle was seized.

David was arrested for Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver 100-500 grams of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) a class X felony. He was transported to the Boone County Jail where he remains in custody.

Hodge was arrested for arrested for Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer (class A misdemeanor) and Two (2) counts of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child (class A misdemeanor). Hodge was transported to the Belvidere Police Department where she was processed and released with a court date.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. A class X felony is punishable by 6-30 years in the Department of Corrections. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum of 364 days in jail and/or a $2500 fine.
