Update from our friends at NPFD:
Shortly after 6:13 pm this evening, North Park Fire was dispatched for a detached garage fire in the 6200 block of Torch Lite Trail. First arriving units arrived in approximately three minutes and confirmed a well involved detached garage.
Loves Park’s engine arrived (part of our automatic aid) and initiated fire suppression and North Park units established water supply, protected an exposure and assisted with fire control. Thanks to our auto aid companies (Loves Park, Harlem Roscoe and Cherry Valley) for their quick response.
While the garage and contents are a total loss, the adjacent home suffered only minor heat damage. The cause is undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported.
As always, our relationship with Loves Park Fire is paying dividends to both department’s citizens as we’re better able to serve both communities by making sure the closest engine arrives on scene first, regardless of what jurisdiction.
