Rockford Scanner: Shooting Victim In Beloit

Beloit Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a 40-year-old Beloit man injured near Porter Avenue and Randall Street.

The victim was sitting in a vehicle with his girlfriend just after 4 a.m. today when a black four-door car pulled up and fired several shots into the parked car before fleeing from the scene.

The victim, Ayinde M. Oston, received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his left arm; he drove himself to the hospital. The woman in the vehicle was uninjured.

We are investigating the circumstances in this shooting, which does not appear to be random.
